Can we appreciate how well Konami is handling anime deck support recently? Every wave of support at least makes decks playable, and even makes some meta like SHS and Melodious. Gimmick Puppet has been my pet bad deck since 2013, so I'm glad they've finally got a wave of great cards, really excited to play them
Melodius is probably gonna be like Unchained, barely played in the OCG and overplayed in the TCG. That's just my feeling though because they got some really good cards in that last wave of support they got.
@traplover6357 they're getting 5 new cards in the next set and are seeing quite a few tops in the OCG. They got 2 pendulums, 2 great fusions and a fusion spell that recycles itself to +1
Im still waiting on them to treat Elemental Heroes and Neo spacians like how they have been treating yubel, gimmick puppet, yugi etc. konami be giving jaden the ugly step child treatment.
My friend loves Gimmick Puppet and he always tried to figure out an FTK through Dark Strings. When I showed him the support, he was surprised on how easy it was to FTK. Even I’m amazed with how cracked the cards are, especially the field spell
Whats worse is they are just uneffected instead of like you cannot respond to gimmick puppet effects with monster effects so your oppenent can still try and negate and then get hit with the, "It still resolves"
basically Miscellaneousaurus, nothing new here. Miscellaneousaurus can only be stopped by gamma, and this field spell can be stopped by ghost ogre (and the psyframe for spells)
Gimmick Puppet and surprisingly Ice Barriers got such huge glow ups, if it wasn’t for the fact I dueled against Snake-Eye, I’ve gotten so many wins from Ice Barrier
Nah that’s melodious. This is a terrible improvement where a bad unfun lock alt win condition deck becomes more consistent in winning in an unhealthy way
easily one of my favorite archetypes of all time. I still have deck profiles on my profile of this deck even. Dont touch my cards (except nightmare we dont even need it) , I fucking love them so much and never got to play them since theyve been awful the entire time. Its finally our time xD
Yup Quattro was part of the Vetrix/Tron Family who did get their powers from the barians who were the main focus villains in Zexal II. Man it's so great seeing gimmick puppets get some awesome support! We'll see how long these last haha.
@@6210classick it does, tbh lot other cards can stop this also, not sure if one is enough tho, u might need like 2 handtraps. Ash, nibiru, imperm, droll, ghost ogre, delta, bystial / crow, shifter. They have more counters that ppl think at first glance.
Every anime archetype needs a field spell like that Or just make it standard on field spells but you have to run the deck pure giving up access to any external hand traps or Extra deck toolboxing
There’s no way Konami didn’t know this was a thing… normally FTKs involve weird tech choices that may have fallen through the cracks until the players found them… this is just these new cards working as they were intended to work.
I think that Cattle Scream is based in the ancient execution technique called the bronze bull, where you put someone inside, light a fire underneath, and basically cook them alive. Their screams are also changed through a series of pipes, making the screams sound like an actual Bull. ...dont ask how I know this.
there something that people apparently have misconception about ; the field spell only give GP immunity against battle/effect of non xyz mons. which mean, its still can be dealt with usinng xyz mons and s/t (especially impermanence)
What I have noticed in my playtesting with the FTK is that you can do these things to stop the FTK, 1. Use Tornado (preferably)/Ash Blossom on the Field Spell itself. Since Ash Blossom negates the effect and Tornado destroys the card, you won't have to worry about the Field Spell all too much. 2. Use Infinite Impermanence on the Fantastix Makina to prevent the search of the Rank-Up Magic. 3. Use D.D. Crow on the RUM itself.
Actually, the chronomaly extra deck monsters, the main boss can be upgraded with rank up spells. And Makina makes that easier to summon him but also upgrade him. And the number C version of that monster has an effect that can make your opponents life points 100. Now of course, it's effect can be prevented. But if you know your opponent can't negate your effects. You can pretty much win the game. Add some burn and it's your win. How strong would this actually be? I don't know, it might not be worth it. But that's what comes to mind for me.
Ive been playing puppets since 2012, and i love them so much that im worried that 1) everyone is gonna play them now for the cheese =/ 2) its gonna make the price of these cards go through the roof 3) something is gonna get banned quickly 4) an text adjustment before release fixes this problem like when Black Rose Moonlight was released with infinite bouncing effects, which i exploited with gimmick puppet magnet doll to run down the clock. I feel you on that. Especially the first one, they think the deck is worthless and then all of a sudden it gets good support and they’re like “omg so and so deck is OP it’s gonna be tier 1” or “this is the new meta” or something like that.

Because people are having to run around with Dax full of hand traps and I'm talking about 15 to 20 sometimes, I've been waiting for Konami to drop the new type of card effects that would just flat out in the gate monster effects in hand or something like that. This is a welcome change, however luckily I've built up a really good competitive Utopia deck for one of my rogue slots. If the gimmick puppet deck does become something that's played a lot common then hopefully I'll still have a good option to beat it, assuming I go first LOL😂

This was for me, I played "gimmick puppet" for more than 10 years, I never stopped believing in the deck, I cried for one decent new rank 8 for years. While the game kept going faster and faster, my beloved deck was left in the dirt... This is everything I ever asked for and more, and now y'all get what you fucking deserve 😂. Anyone else think Gimmick Puppet FM looks like he could be a Decepticon? The logo on his chest looks like the perfect place for the Decepticon logo. Also I like how they added 4's duel disk to the design. Zexal had some of the best duel disk.
Hopefully "banish when it leaves the field" is just to prepare us for a new link Gimmick. This is one of those archetypes I was always trying to make consistent. That said; I like to break things. I don't like when they're given to me broken.
Going first against Gimmick Puppet with Yubel, I will destroy that field spell with Valdrath first chance I get after it's activated. That shit is the first thing to go. Thank god Yubel has access to a good Xyz to deal with what they search. Going second, I'm gonna need some help. That protection is ungodly.

This support is REALLY vulnerable to interruption, add the fact that the field spell is not searchable and that without the field spell you can't do FTK and that's all
This makes me so happy lol. I've always loved GP even though they sucked just because they reminded me of both Bakura's "Necro" cards from the end of the original series and also reminded me of the doll deck from GX when that doll from one of the girls dorms came to life. Hopefully we get to see GP destroy everyone in the near future
I cant lie. I dont know if this is gonna be as good as everyone is thinking. Heres my thoughts. Its really strong going first. Hard to break if the field spell is up, just on account of it blanking nearly every hand trap bar droll and imperm. Droll kills the deck, and droll is decent this format. It also just flat out doesnt do anything from what i can gather going second. So i dont know if thats gonna be enough for it to do super well. Maybe on duleingbook pubs or the odd showing at a tournament but i dont think itll do well in a match.
Still they give a rival to snake-eyes. Snake-eyes using spell/trap to immobilize/lock them to s/t zone, so its not that really matter. It just this deck kinda "kill" Or really good againts deck that only use monster effect.
to all the people that's unironically complaining: you'll be fine, there are a lot of counter plays that will prevent the FTK. Yes, the field spell makes it harder to interact with, with some of the cards that you already play, but I thought that's what many of you want? Diverse format that reward deck building and counter siding?
I never understood why they gave Gimmick Puppets the ability to special summon to their opponent’s side of the field. It felt really odd. Now that it’s lead to an FTK. Congrats, Konami. Congrats

FTK is almost impossible to do since field spell is not searchable and the deck is really vulnerable to interruption, so don't worry
