Do we only need to sidechain the slap bass and the sub when the kick hits, because in this genre the slap bass hits off from the kick too I guess. And the LFO tool or the Kickstart doesn't sidechain every note. Does anyone know any solutions for these. Appreciate if anyone can help.
Amazing tips, as always. I have a new suggestion: can you show how DubVision made their chords in the drops of "Take My Mind", "Like This" and their recent song "Bad Blood"? I am aware of the LFO speeding down (in "Take My Mind"), I mainly want to know the sound design behind it. I would be really glad if you could make a video on it!
This moves so fast, it's extremely difficult to follow. Great that you have fans to say they love everything you do, but let's be honest, you can't teach something to people moving at 210 mph. Your cursor is moving so fast and clicking on things as you talk, I'm forced to stop and replay this video a hundred times just to follow along. Your clicks also aren't directly related to the things you're saying. So we have to stop and rewind many times just to follow the clicks, then play it back once more to listen/focus on what you're saying. It's a very odd way of teaching. Also, you do not select any of the preset sounds in Serum, yet you play your keyboard and we hear bass. You don't bother to explain how you did that. I am new to this and its not helpful to watch videos by people who (assume) that you know how to do these things.
@@ZenWorld I'm always happy with anyone willing to teach me anything. I REALLY want to know how to make a killer Slap Bass sounds, I know very little about Serum other than to use the silly presets they already have, yet I need to be able to give record labels something that they are familiar with and consistent with other sounds currently topping the charts in the same genre. I was following your video, but as soon as I realized you're playing a bass sound without using any of the presets (and the fact that I don't know how to do that), I had to just simply stop and I now I'm still working with nothing.
@@vaschon3074 Most I can lead you to is the Complete guide to master serum tutorial series I have on here where I'm assuming people watching don't know anything and then welcome you back to watching these kind of videos of mines. I'm sure someone out there made a tutorial that's more to your liking if you don't want to do that. ALL The best!
@@ZenWorld LOL... I want to write songs and not learn all this engineering and sound creation stuff that'll take me a lifetime, lol... So I just bought your preset kit and said to hell with it. Ultimately, my song now sounds the way I wanted it to. Thanks for all your help. I really do appreciate it. #IMPATIENT. LOL

Whenever I turn the RAND to zero I get this flanger/phaser like sound when I play longer notes...is that by default or am I missing some extra steps?
