@@misterb8677 not true. Atleast definitely not for assam. Huge Assamese literature available, a lot of which still not translated. Off late translations are happening.
So no, most are not in english, infact the exact opposite.
Is Satanaic Verses really Banned in India. As far as I know, all there exists is an import ban on this book. But if you chose to buy it overseas, or borrow it from a friend who might have a copy, it's perfectly legal to read it. Am I wrong ?

Great suggestions ❤️ Im reading Tyranny of Silence written by Flemming Rose who was the publisher of the article with the infamous Mohammed cartoons. He speaks about freedom of speech from an extremely objective view and this book is in no way a justification or an apology for his actions. Must read for anyone interested in this topic. Along with the Cartoon Crisis, he's spoken about Holocaust Denial, the human rights movement in Russia, mentioned his discussions with Rushdie and various other topics. Happy reading 😊🤓
For Holocaust denial though, nothing could possibly surpass Deborah Lipstadt's legendary 'History on trial'. Fantastic piece of work

Well I could tell you that, but that would initiate a lot of back and forth in the comment section. I recommend googling the controversy surrounding these books, and checking out the relevant sections of their Wikipedia pages. A bit of looking around, and you'd find which 'ideologies' he is mentioning here.
Might I add that if you are astute enough, you'd notice common threads linking these bannings

Clarification. What he says about One Part Woman isn't true. It's not the husband who persuades Poona but her family and she is forced by the circumstances. The story ends brilliantly, leaving us for more information.

No book should be banned. It should be free to write and by ones choice to read. Anyone that forces one to read or not read is only out for one's own reason or purpose. Only 1 can judge fairly that is nature. All others is only for one's self or cause.
