Maybe it's not the right time - same happened with me when i read "THE ALCHEMIST" for the first time. I read it as a story and eventually lost interest as it is one of the best selling books and was recommended by so many people i tried to hold on to the book but in the end dropped it. But as it is rightly said " You don't find the book the book finds you". This december i read a quote by Paulo Coelho from the book and those two lines were enough to persuade me. I started reading the book. And it is one of THE best books I have ever read. A life changing book. Every sentence taught me something. I felt as if the book was written for me. Maybe it was the right time :)

    • @DeepakMothsra
      @DeepakMothsra 3 года назад +13

The opposite happened to me, I first started reading it as only as a fictional book but just one chapter in, and I was so deeply involved in the book that I still remember that I couldn't stop myself from reading it till 5 am in the morning. "THE ALCHEMIST" truly is the best book I have ever read and if you think of any other book that has a huge influence on your life and thought process please let me know I would love to read that.

@@tanaydeshmukh7755 that's okay try reading another book and may be it's not the right time :)
Bcoz i personally think you need a motive , a reason and a lot of attention to read those 14 principles by Napoleon Hill if you'll read only for the sake of reading then it might get boring.
And yeah The Alchemist, Rich Dad Poor Dad those are some great books. Keep Reading :)

    • @shantanukulkarni8883

Actually, this was the exact opposite for me. I read The Alchemist a year ago and recently when I just glanced through it, I didn't find it as fascinating as I had found it when I first read it. It was really good, but I didn't feel the same way I did when I read it the first time.

Warikoo ji! Beautiful list of books, started reading ‘Psychology of Money’ after watching this video, and it is indeed an eye-opener. There’s a very high chance you’ve read this already, but ‘Shoe Dog’ is my favorite and I plan to re-read it this year. If you like fiction, ‘Anxious People’ by Fredrick Backman is a wonderful read.

Sir, It would be very appreciated and helpful if possible you to try to explain how a book can be completed within a week without only skimming it. Will the comprehension level be enough?
Let's say, a book with 300 pages needs to be finished in a week. You need to cover more than 30 pages a day on an average and which might not be possible because of your routines.

Hello Sir, First of All, Heartfelt Gratitude for sharing your experience and wisdom. I feel happy and proud to be living in an era where true wisdom and guidance is shared so transparently and free of cost, in a concise manner... when stalwarts like you openly and happily act as the torch bearers in spirit of the term and not in letter. Thanks a tonne.
I am gonna read all the books recommended by you... 2/3 have already read..
I am interested in the unlimited universe that Spirituality offers for us to explore... One of the books which I found the most potent in the field is "Zen Yoga by Dr P J Saher" It is really concise, clear and to the point....very basic yet complete path in itself. I'm sure it would do more than justice with your time...🙏🙏

We we start reading any book it's our responsibility to finish it but the book is equally responsible to hold our attention so that we can finish it.

But after listening your words & the quote I am quite happy to not to finish a book.

"The first and last freedom" - J Krishnamurty.
It talks about various aspects of our life like religion, sex, power, authority, greed and many more.
A very difficult read if you have not heard his talks.
Theosophical philosophy, which was established and well known spiritual org. in the early 20th century tried to announce to the world that a new world teacher has arrived and it is J Krishnamurty.
But J Krishnamurty rejected all that and said no teacher, no religion, no authority can change you. You are the only true saviour from all the problems, from all the miseries of the world. He goes deeply about our thought process.
