One thing I noticed about this song compared to the others is this sense of urgency in the tempo. As a One, I think we feel like we're constantly racing against time in the sense that we're trying so hard to become our own version of perfection with the little time we have here on Earth. Like we're doing all these things because we're trying so hard to be these flawless people before it's too late. I love the fact that they addressed that, it makes the message of the song all that much more powerful and real.
I noticed that! I feel that they did a great job at capturing each number in each respective song, like im a 6, and i think that they did a very good job a capturing the stress that comes with trying our best to do our best and be the perfection that we think we should be.
And then SSSOOO many things get in the way (eg sickness, forgetfulness, judgement errors, traffic) - move!!! Don't derail me. Not even you, commitments I have made... Yet, I must honor my existing commitments... It is part of perfection.
I have to create and share my personal and social utopia before it's too late! Any moment could be my last.
Somehow I have to utilize the set backs, go back in time or become forever young to get it just right.

Took the test and turns out I'm a Six. I can't wait to hear the song! It was odd but surprisingly validating to find options that I could relate to without a moment's hesitation.
It's the worst thing in the world to always feel like what you're doing will never be good enough. i always tell myself i need to be better for the people around me - for my family, for my friends, for the people i care about. this song describes what i feel PERFECTLY. every failure i encounter discourages me and it's that fact about myself that i hate the most. we always strive for perfection but we seldom fail to realize that sometimes it's not what we need.

"I want to sing a song worth singing" this is bang on. People think all ones are super picky cleaners and love a good post-it etc but really it's about doing things well that we think are important. To hell with everything else.
Also the first lyrics about how "I know perfect doesn't exist but how do we know until we've tried" hits home. As a one I get told by people just give up it's not worth it, it's good enough and it's like no, just let me keep trying. We'll work ourselves ragged doing it but for those important things in life we will keep trying to improve it until it's perfect. For all my fellow ones, remember that whatever you're doing that matters to you, if you never get it perfect you've made a damn good improvement and you can be proud of yourself and take a nap.

Yeah. I'm not a 1 but I got a high score on it, and those lines were bulls-eyes. If I am taking the time to do something I want to do, I want it to be the best I can possibly make it. Even if it takes a long time I'd rather do that then sit there with that 'I could have done better' feeling whenever I look at the work. It's amazing when you work hard, break your brain, and put it together to make something that truly feels great. You know the work you put into fixing all the minute details. And then, it's payed off. We shouldn't have perfectionism on all the time but if we can turn it on for things we really want then I believe it's a type of superpower.

These songs evoke such a strange, happy sadness that just pulsates intensely in my chest. It’s the weirdest but most wonderful thing I’ve ever felt and no other artists can pull that feeling out of me. It’s hard to describe, but it’s sort of really painful and yet I can’t get enough of it. I kind of hate it and love it at the same time. I need to not be listening to songs like these a 2 in the morning I’m emotional and alone and dang somebody help me

I’m a 9w1, and it’s so so easy for me to love others, but I never feel good enough in other’s eyes. I feel like I measure my self by comparing the amount of love that I give others to the amount of love that I feel, which makes me feel so alone and notice the things I need to change about myself. This hurts my heart in such wonderful ways
As someone who's a One, this song has helped me a lot. I was being so hard on myself about everything and nothing but I stumbled upon Sleeping At Last, and found 'two'. I felt it described me partially. I then found “One,” and it has touched me so deeply. I took a few enneagram tests and found I’m 1w2, which made a lot of sense.
Having a song that describes me better than i can describe myself is such a unique feeling. It was strange at first but it is extremely comforting that I am not the only one who feels this way.

My father is a one, and this song is him through and through. His first, and most important lesson was that kindness costs nothing. He’s the most amazing man I’ve ever met. He’s my idol. He’s done so many great things to help his community, and I just hope he knows how much he makes a difference to this broken world. To all the ones out there, keep doing what you do. :))
maybe nothing is the actual cost though. you have to give up nothing, all the things that have nothing in them. Death is nothing, death is non-existence, what doesn't exist, is nothing. So maybe when something costs nothing, you just have to give up the things with death in them, like fear and selfishness. and yet it feels like it costs nothing too. this universe is so beautiful
These songs are all so deep (and we can relate to them all on some level because Enneagram isn’t purely “You are this number only” but rather “This is your strongest set of traits we can categorize but ultimately you should be a more balanced and healthy person and learn from other personality types too”) and that being said, if you Fortnight dance to these songs, it helps prevent you from crying as much

I came across the Enneagram a couple of years ago; I immediately saw myself as One dominate. What's beautiful about the Enneagram is it's origins and that it truly is a journey of discernment and growth. This song made me nearly cry; for a One, who always resists their passions, that's saying something. Keep up giving us The Beautiful!

I myself identify as a type one. When I first heard the episode for this song on Ryan's podcast, I actually had such a connection and self discovery that I honestly got emotional. In the podcast, Ryan interviews a friend as well, and they both explain that we (type ones) tend to blame ourselves and pick flaws from ourselves so easily, that half of the time we don't even know why. I myself have personally always looked at myself as a human with an infinite amount of flaws. I always think that things, in their own little ways can be better, hence why I've always assumed that nothing I've ever done was good enough. After listening to this song, and listening to the podcast, I've come to a conclusion that perfection doesn't exist. I'm always going to want things to be better, it's just the way I am. But not every little thing in life needs to be better. Because it's simple, and pure.
I feel it deep in my bones. I live in Brazil. I've tried to get into a med school since 2015. I got in this year, but i had to leave my family and friends and move to another city. It was really painful and this new disease brought me back home. This song makes me feel like everything is gonna be fine. Tomorrow will be beautiful even though I am scared. I feel God when I listen to this song. His grace requires nothing of me.

When I was first getting into the Enneagram, I repeatedly tested as a One. Now, I know for certain that I am a 5w4. However, I will always have a bit of a connection to Ones, and this song touches me so deeply. It reflects certain facets of myself which make me who I am.
I like that the lyrics are written faster than they're sung, and letters sometimes overlap each other- like the singer's brain is moving faster than they can get their thoughts out. The two columns of close-together text has a similar effect- it feels hastily scribbled out, which really suits the singer's desperation to fix things.

This is powerful it’s eye opening the beat is everything it has its powerful to understand the anxiety the flow of power and energy in the song makes you feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulder i can’t describe it but it’s not a bad feeling i love this so much.
I absolutely love this song. The lyrics, the music, and the visuals. It’s not fancy, it’s by no means perfect, but it is very deeply felt. It is just simple and honest and raw. And yet so beautiful. So loving. Music like this is the kind of music that gives meaning to our silent moments. I only discovered Sleeping At Last about a month or two ago, but it has been ages since I’ve found a band that I love as much as them and creates music that I truly love listening to. They add such a gentleness to music. I hope they never lose sight of that.
