  • Launched way back in 1995, this is the facelift of the third-generation Skoda Octavia vRS. It’s available as either a five-door hatch or five-door estate.

The updated models get revised looks, headlined by the introduction of quad headlights at the front and redesigned taillights at the rear.
VRS models get a sports front bumper, honeycomb air inlets, grille with vRS badging and LED Headlights.
They come fitted with 18” Gemini anthracite alloy wheels, lowered suspension and a rear diffuser complemented with chrome exhaust tailpipe finishes.
Inside you get sculptured sports seats, vRS embossed door sill trims and stainless steel pedals. Over the previous model, there is larger and revised design for the infotainment touchscreen, which has grown to 9.2in.

I got the first generation Octavia Vrs wagon in India. Still gives most cars on the road run for their money.

Im so gutted they changed the front. I had my eye on one for 12 months. Settled for the Leon ST FR instead.

Enjoyed this review, great to see a 9/10 rating for a practical family car.
I assume the Golf GTI could achieve just as high a rating given the mechanical similarities? Maybe better handling with the smaller body but more expensive I assume. The similar Leon Cupra possibly trying to get too much power down for it's front wheel drive with the Seat interior probably not quite as nice as the other two.

      SteveF many thanks.
Leon CUPRA - you're spot on with too much power through the front wheels, however, the new 4Drive ST (ruclips.net/video/Y8STfmrmMRw/видео.html) version is stunning and scores the same as the vRS.
Golf GTI - yes it's dearer but that added quality does give it the edge, just. ruclips.net/video/O6oO1uRFyVM/видео.html

I cant decide on vrs 245 estate or leon cupra st300, both are working out similiar money on lease. Which would you pick?

Driving that car in white over here in Belgium will give you a lot of lit up brake lights as the police have these cars.

Matthew Dosier that’s because it’s owned by VAG and built on the VAG common platform used for the Golf, A3 and Octavia.

That driver's seat leather that is already wrinkly says a lot on why you shouldn't but affordable car with "luxury" options. Cloth will look better and last much longer.

Any chance of a 5 door Mini Cooper review? Maybe irrational but can't shake off the feeling it offers driver appeal and quality.

Driver's Seat Good news thanks. I know off topic but shortage of Mini reviews that reflect fact it competes with Golf / Octavia on price, not superminis. As a car lover been "following" for a while. Fine videos, your channel deserves lots of new subscribers.
