It’s about time someone made a video! Hell yeah! I got my fox a couple years back and wanted to replace the head unit (replaced all my speakers already but the head unit is so low powered they sound no different than stock) but after I seen the warning on crutchfield about possibly loosing speakers and the fact nobody at the time had a video showing how to connect everything for a Foxbody I just gave up.
So the plugs next to the HVAC control are still pluged in? I have mine wired how you have yours but i have no sound at all. I removed the amp and pluged into the grey plug that used to go to the amp so i dunno..
To be honest I cant remember the install, Ill have to re-watch my own vid LOL and I cant even look at the car since its in the shop getting some work done. Ill try to run through the footage and see if I can help you!
@@chrisresendiz7172 test your leads to ensure you’re getting power through the harness? Maybe it’s a grounding issues? The kit from Metra comes with 2 harnesses I believe. One for premium sound system (6 speaker with amp) and the basic system (4 speakers no amp).
hey man i am using the same kit, the only issue im having is that the head unit will not fit with the side brackets on. how did you persuade yours in? thanks!
Extremely helpful! I picked up a 1987 GT and someone had destroyed the radio harness.
Im glad it helped you out!

How can I keep the factory amp and use aftermarket head unit ? I have the same adapters you do.
Hey man where’d you get the amp plug-in I’ve got a 1989 LTD crown Victoria but can’t find the plug
I bought the harness kit from crutchfield.com
Here’s the harness I used for the premium sound system
Metra 70-5006 Receiver Wiring Harness
@@AFTD. man I bought the bypass but got no power once I bypassed it, any thoughts?

to be honest I dont remember....I placed the head unit in the frame and it slid right in then attached with the Metra kit
I have 6 speakers I can't find a kit for it they did have a system in it before and wires everywhere could be cut íll have to look more
Damn butchers. Probably have to trace wires and splice into new harness from Crutchfield. Good luck bro. Let me know if you solve it all 👍🏼
Are you interested in selling that factory radio? Trying to put my 89 back to factory and can’t find where I put the original radio.
No sorry…keeping it in case I want the original look back one day
Do you still have the factory radio ?
Yea. Just incase I ever sell the car and the buyer wants to back to factory look
na the car had nothing in it when I got it
