      Yes, this is an easy option for lightweight robots. But once the robots get bigger, the moving mass is a problem. With an active skin, you can detect with the same sensitivity all over the robot AND the tool and trigger a safety stop BEFORE the collision force is too high ( see ISO 15066 limits: with AIRKSIN, due to the soft active skin, we can move much faster with robots than cobots with torque measurement in the joints.

    How to make a colaborative robot colaborative :)) , how convenient, i see how it applies to standard industrial robots but on Universal Robots! really :))

      We were wondering us the same, but as it turns out, the cobots can not achvieve the cycle time needed without extra safety. thus integrators contacted us to manufacture AIRSKIN for their cobots. Most of them only add AIRSKIN around the tool and the ellbow joint.
