In terms of my model S, the only thing wrong with it was the high level stop light was not working, this was correctly repaired with the purchase at no cost to me. Otherwise no issues. I did purchase CCS2 charging and 32 amp AC charging enhancement. I also purchased door handle repair kits from EV Tuning USA, these are proper rectification fix kits for the model S handles, these are "just in case" kits. Other than that the car is perfect and I love it.

I was confused between buying a 2019 Lexus ES and a 2019 Mercedes Benz E class. In one of your videos, you said, "If you want to buy a solid-built luxurious car, look for something that starts with an L and ends with an exus." I immediately dumped the E class and bought the Lexus. Time will tell if I took the right decision, but you certainly helped me get there.
Think you made the right choice there Rejwan. Especially with 2019 now coming out of warranty. Modern Mercs are dogs by comparison.

Love this channel and it's much needed. Car journos love highlighting all the electronics and other rubbish which you point out goes wrong after a couple of years. So thank you for making reliable ownership a topic it's clearly in demand
Great Video! I've owned Jag, Volvo, and would happily have an Alfa or Maserati. The reward and additional maintenance is worth it! Got so many memories of my Jag and we love our Volvo. For part 2 I'd include any big BMW, Merc, Mazzer Ghibli, Bentley, Rolls or Porsche Panamera. Poorly maintained anything luxury branded will be seriously expensive to sort out.
Trying to keep it mainten is a money pit too lol

Consider jaguar Xj from 2010 on your next list. Had one (2014) XJ long wheel and it was amazing car… when it wasn’t in the garage. Would of loved you to redriven it!

The Maserati QP5 from 2010-2012 with the 4.7 engine is the one to buy... The V8 "M136" is the one to buy... Just don't use the brakes, as its brakes are expensive to replace unless you use the SLK55 and ML55 Brake pads instead of the Mazza labeled variant...I tell people when they comment on my 2010 GTS I couldn't afford to buy a Holden so I bought a Maserati (no kidding, Because Mazza has such a reputation for unreliability the depreciation has made the "QP5" extremely good buying...

Any V12 Mercedes is a Massive, Expensive gamble. Especially a mid 00s into the 2010s - SO expensive to own lol.

So happy you included the Giulia! I get the criticisms made about owners and lease holders and especially second / third owners. But is that really a Giulia specific problem? You didn’t mention many specific issues with those cars. Looking at owners groups there doesn’t seem to be many major common issues (yet!). It’s still in the risky category, for sure, especially with the market you’re going for. I’d have a Giulia. What an absolutely awesome car they are!
I owned a 2017 Giulia. It was a gem of a design piece and awesome to drive. However, before I received it from the 2nd hand car shop, they replaced the steering rack and rear shocks under warranty, a job worth thousands. I had to replace a front driveshaft because of a slight oil leak from it, the full price for the part was 2500€. I managed to source a used part from a Stelvio, but I was lucky. I wish I had gotten the extended warranty till I had the chance :D.
I don't know if this is just a fluke but twice I have seen Giulia's breakdown in peak-hour traffic within a month.

I am in the market for a 2014 Volvo V60 Polestar but chances are will get S60 Polestar just because they are easier to find. Only 200 V60's came to Australia.

Just purchased a 2019 Holden Calais station wagon. 3.6 V6 235 kw or 320hp AWD.Has all the features you can think of. Only 95000ks. 9 speed automatic. Nicest car I’ve driven in years. $21000. And it’s German. Value for money? You bet.

The common theme amongst all those vehicles is cost cutting in areas where it’s not immediately obvious - difficult to understand why manufacturers adopt such a short sighted approach, unless they are relying on high margin sales to a core bunch of rusted on followers

Stumbled across you guys when my sister was keen on a 2017 Focus RS (this was after I had bought a 2020 Fiesta ST, and her husband had bought a 2021 Focus ST, in auto no less - She had the bug). Thought I'd better have a look at your vid on the RS and offer her some brotherly advise fully expecting to let her know it was too harsh etc. Turned out you heartily recommended it, from memory. She bought that car and loved it - she told me she likes it hard 😅 Sold it for an awesome machine in the form of a new A45S, but she still tells me she misses that RS...

One of Tesla's business model is restric parts to authorised shops only. Which means even if you know how to diy and you know the part number, you will still need to pay a large sum conpare to legacy manufactuers.

Anyone who buys an Jaguar, Alfa or Masarati should expect a grage queen. Theyare notorious. I'd add the Mercedes S-Class, which is hidiously unreliable and expansive to maintain.

They wouldn't be able to review a VW Phaeton, because most if not all are already on the scrap heap... Phaeton was the Bentley RnD platform until VW transferred their RnD to Skoda Superb for the electrics and Audi for their drivelines...

All cars break down just some more than others. I have Italian cars and they can be like Italian supermodels. Beautiful to look at and put a huge smile on your face when they caress you but occasionally they get very emotional and throw all your clothes out the bedroom window. That's just how life is with a supermodel. TBH tho my Italian cars have been no worse than my German, Japanese, English or even Japanese cars. I still have a 2011 Alfa 159 Sportwagon that is nearing 300,000km and has never ever been towed or left me on the side of the road or had a massive costly repair. It has outlasted many others and still drives like near new with zero leaks or rattles and every single thing still works. It so not being an Alfa or living up to the stereotype. Yes, I do also think it's a complete freak and I'm very lucky. 🤣 Would I buy another one? Yep, I bought a 147 as a shop runabout and it too has been fantastic.
