Strange, a bit too high. I have same car with same engine xdrive and I get 6,5L @140kph on highway. But my is M sport ...maybe ride height and stiffness somehow affects fuel consumption at highway speeds.
Did you tuned or change engine software? How old your car is? To be honest I received few reports from BMW 520d users about lower fuel consumption comparing what I showed. All of them had changed sth. with their engines. I checked two BMW 520d, one 320d (the old one), one X3 20d and one 120d - all with xDrive. All of them had consumption like this what I showed. Some numbers (as always: city | 90 | 120 |140 km/h): 120d xDrive: 6,5 | 4,9 | 6,5 | 7,7 320d xDrive: 6,8 | 5,0 | 6,6 | 7,8 520d xDrive: 7,1 | 5,1 | 6,7 | 7,9 (the second one: 7,1 | 5,1 | 6,8 | 8,0) X3 20d xDrive: 7,2 | 5,4 | 7,3 | 8,9 Sth interesting: BMW X2 25d xDrive (the same engine but with stronger turbo and changed software): 6,3 | 4,1 | 5,8 | 7,1), as you can see much lower fuel consumption comparing with upper ones. My friend has 120d (RWD) with changed software (~225 HP) and I checked fuel consumption of his car and it was much lower comparing with 120d xDrive I tested. Definitely To compare the new 320d xDrive: 6,2 | 4,3 | 5,4 | 6,9 The new 120d xDrive: 5,6 | 4,2 | 5,6 | 7,1 I asked BMW about it (the old 20d consumption) but unfortunately they did not send my anything interesting in terms of this consumption.
@@1001cars Car was stock - I sold it last week. You are right, after few thousand kms fuel consumption was 7,3 - 7,9L@140-150kph, quite a lot for such small engine. Last week I bought 2017 730d xDrive (stock) and fuel consumption is actually lower on 730d than 520d. At same speed on highway I get 6,8-7L with 730d and the engine is much smoother and stronger.
Yes, you are right. I have to check if it was a problem with this specific car or this model uses fuel like this. Other journalist has the same results with this car :( BMW 730d with 3 liter diesel engine is more efficient...
@@1001cars no its fine. AWD cars use more fuel because sending power to all wheels actually takes a bit more power. This is the biggest downside of having a AWD car.
Jak widzę te spalanie to chcąc kupic te auto zmieniłem zdanie! 140kmh i 8L - syf. Mam obrcnie scudo 165 multijet robione na 200 koni i pali tyle co to bmw! A miejsca w chuj!

Hi 1001cars, good job.
Thank you! :)
