We’re celebrating the 25th anniversary of Insomniac by releasing a double LP pressed on translucent orange vinyl and includes the cover art printed on prismatic silver foil. LP 1 is a remastered version of the album. LP 2 includes live tracks from the legendary 1996 Prague show on the A Side along with an etching on the B Side. Insomniac is their best record in my opinion. It is raw, aggressive, fast and true. Everything Punk Rock is.
Insomniac is definitely their most Punk Rock sounding album they’ve ever released. But as far as their best record.. Insomniac is definitely in my personal top 5 Green Day albums. But in my opinion, I still think American Idiot holds that number 1 spot because of how much of a ambitious project that album truly was. But I honor your opinion, I love Insomniac as well, it’s everything you said it is, raw, aggressive, fast and true. Exactly what Punk Rock is.

My absolute favorite Green Day song! I recorded this live on Letterman. Dave came back from break and said about Tre "Boy I sure hope the water doesn't turn that guy's hair green."
I saw GD at Warped Tour in like 2000/2001 and waited all day front row at the guard rail. Billie started asking the crowd for requests and I shouted 86 with all my might. He heard me! He looked down at me and said, "What's that? 86? Tre do you still remember how to play that? Alright this songs called 86!". This is my greatest concert memory of all time!

They kicked so much fucking ass around the time Insomniac came out. It’s honestly the BEST GD album BY FAR. Idc what anyone says. Their speed/coke days were the fucking best 🤘🏻 that raw, super tight energy was it, kids. Gone are the days 😢
My friend and I saw them on this tour when we were 15, it was a school night and we could swear we could hear cymbals crashing down the halls at school the next day, and our ears were ringing for like 2-3 days. I was so obsessed with this band then. I captured this on VHS, and wanted to come watch it now.

Green Day has brought the best moments and memories for me. I’ve met so many new friends, found so many more bands, and have even started bands of my own. They’re the most inspiring group of people I’ve followed through my years on this earth, and I’ll never stop loving them because of it. If you’re reading this Billie, Mike, Tre, and Jason, I love you guys so much. For anyone else, I love you too, I hope they mean as much to you as they mean to me. ❤️

I love how Mike places gently his bass in the end of a song but Billie joe smashes his guitar on the ground except for blue he keeps it in his hands it’s fcking adorable
I doubt that he ever actually plays his first guitar very much. If you see him playing 'Blue' then it's probably a replica, with better pickups and fretwork.
The original one was cheap, and it's also probably completely worn out.

I was very fortunate.........I saw Green Day on the Insomniac tour. They opened up with 86...........the energy was unreal............you really just had to be there

You really see and hear the anguish in this performance. I remember Billie talking about how Gilman was the only true community they felt a part of; and that they lost that sense of home after exiled before Warner/Reprise

There’s a lot that can be said about this band, but they’re still one of the tightest playing bands I’ve ever heard. ALWAYS in tune with one another and in sync…….side note, I love that green spitfire slingerland drum set that tre is playing on!
Tre cool is the reason why I ever played drums. Thank you Tre and all of Green Day for inspiring me to try something new that I would love for years to come. Thanks guys 🥁🤘

This is probably in my top 3 green day albums. It's such a dark raw and honest album in song and lyric style. I've been trying to learn 86 on guitar and hopefully this is good to play along with for practice.
This is a pretty fast version of this song, you’d probably be better playing the album version. Billie sounds like he was hopped up on something for this performance.

I miss those days. I'm 46 years old now, but grew up and still live in SoCali (Orange County). Never missed a SoCali show you guys would play between 1991-1994. I used to go to every Samiam show when they came also.
I was even at the UCI show that got shut down before you guys got a chance to play because so many people showed up (like 3000 I believe) just to see you guys play at the local bar on campus. I thought I was slick since I knew someone working there that night, so I got there at like 4:30pm so I'd be sure to get a seat. I did, unfortunately you guys just never got a chance to play. I do have video footage of the aftermath out side, including the cops all dressed up in full riot gear.
