- The Canal was absolutely on fire this morning. From the moment the sky began to turn light, big striped bass moved through the Canal and tore up schools of mackerel. I was fortunate to get right into the thick of the action, catching 20+ bass, with the majority in the 15-30 lb range. Here are just a few of the highlights from the action this morning. Thanks. I'm glad you liked the video. I understand not sharing secrets online, but the new moon, breaking tide periods is definitely no secret (otherwise I wouldn't know about it either). I don't know that my pointing out the BTs will measurably change the fact that nearly every guy with a pickup truck in MA is already down at the Canal during those times anyway.

Hey, I was there this morning. Crazy action! I landed 4, two of them were 40 in. 22lbs. ea. Had 4 or 5 on and many that hit or darted at my top water plug. Everyone around me was hooking up. Bass everywhere. The best I've seen. Nice fish you caught. How big?
Thanks! Yeah it was an incredible morning. I have so much video to come. It was just fish after fish. I didn't want to hold up though to get it all together, so I made this trailer. Hopefully the hot action continues for the next few days. Glad you got into some solid bass!
