    What a hog! Found this vid while researching the magic swimmer lure. Fishing stripers here in Nova Scotia. Bass just returned from the rivers from the spawn a couple weeks ago. The Bay of Fundy has been producing high 30" fish, with a few the size you got in this vid but they are very hard to come by. Congrats on a beauty. Fish of a lifetime around these parts!! #tightlines

    Nice catch. Getting me pumped up. By the way, your buddy's rod, the guides are not lined up correctly. The rod can come undone or he can break the rod when he set the hook.

    Really sweet .way to hook'em up. But a boga grip and a tape measure at your side for a quick return .... Nice vid of the fight

    Whats with the other two stripers? They get caught when the tide went out . . .

    what series reel and length rod are you guys using or prefer for the canal ?

    • @achamess
      @achamess  7 лет назад

      I'd have something at least 10 feet and strong reel. Depends on your budget. I personally use a custom Lami 10' and a VS250X. But you could find some good Penn reel (Battle II?) and a Tsunami Airwave (XH) and that could get the job done.

    Lousy release and the scale hook into the tongue was raw and poorly thought out.....You should have eaten that one....taking big fish out of the equation allows for the next big fish to reach their potentials and so on and so on....still a nice fish

    nice fish man! maybe just try not to use that scale like that? it can damage their gills... a good way to offset this is i just use a 15 dollar fish grip and if i want to weigh one on a similar style scale, i just hook the scale to the grip. just a thought! good work man

    Nice fish. Next time have everything ready and try to keep its face in the water most of the time. Also don't use a scale that goes under its gills. Make sure to revive the fish and keep its head into the current.

      I will. Thanks. I carefully revived this fish and he swam away strong, but I agree. I was caught off guard by this massive fish.

    Hey, bigmouth, how about less self aggrandizement, and quicker fish releasing.

  • @joefalcone5199

    What’s up with the two fish laying up on the rocks? Why not release them? Also you gotta practice handling them a bit more carefully dude.. One hand in the mouth the other hand under the belly.

    hurt to watch you keep a huge mama like that out of the water for 3 decades... keep your tools on you so you can measure, weigh, and take a picture all under a minute. Come on now man.
