Grew up on Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, and Siouxsie and the Banshees since Junior year in high school, but loved American Horror Story. So yeah...I don't see what the fucking problem is. Be fucking grateful that the bands you loved growing up are actually being appreciated and mainstream audiences are actually showing some respect AT ALL!
After years I stopped goth-clubbing, the momment I watched AHS' first episode and found out it'd be somewhat goth-ish, I just had to thank (whoever was responsible for the soundtrack) that good music is playing again, not just in underground night clubs, but on media of great impact. The Sisters of Mercy have always been gorgeous! While AHS is the outdated dare card for a disconsolate queen who finally gave up the dockers and boat shoes 20 years too late. It's a sizzling mess stuffed with a budget squandered on campy mary-kay convention makeup and the most un-mysterious foreseeable shock value that has found social acceptance amongst the majority. There isn't a shred of fright on that ostentatious cheesy soap opera.
