Jeff, when I originally got glasses I wore them on and off for like a week then gave up on them and said my vision issues must have been due to lack of sleep or headaches or something. After years of progressively worse vision I went back to the optometrist and she said I didn't wear them nearly enough to adjust. So I would suggest wearing them from the moment you get up to when you go to bed, every day, for a month or more and then see how it goes. It took me a full month of that to fully adjust to mine. Nobody ever explained it would take that much usage to me.
@@possibilityspace My last pair also took a while to adjust. It was the first jump in prescription I'd had in over a decade so they did warn me things would look odd for a couple of weeks.
Yeah I've been told that also but last time they messed up the prescription and were a arguing with me that I would get used to it but I've been wearing glasses since I was five so I kinda knew something was wrong...... Had to wait months of back and forth until they finally realized/admitted it was the glasses that were wrong not me so anything's possible ahah
Wow. I really wasn't expecting what appears to be a quality product from Atari in 2022. Thanks for showing this off. I'm definitely going to pick it up today.
Based on his account, that yellow Computer Space that Jessop purchased was literally the first commercial arcade game machine ever produced. That is amazing. I've never cared for Atari games, but I love learning about this medium's history.
I don’t have a whole lot of nostalgia for older systems, pre the first 3D consoles. However, Atari was the exception, for some reason it blew my little mind back in the day. It was like having a video game arcade’s library entirely contained within a small box you hook up to your TV. Play a game for bit, switch cartridge and repeat. Good times.
I just barely missed the Atari phase basically. I had a friend who had an Atari console, I played at his house quite a few times. But the original NES was the big main entry point for me for video games.
I did Drew's doubletake and had to scroll back the video... Why on Earth is Tim Schafer and Cliffy B in the documentaries? Seeing all these former Atari people and then Tim and Cliff pop up even though they have nothing to do with any of it took me out of it. How much of that is in this I wonder. I was thrilled to see something where they're talking with ex-atari people and getting it from the horses mouth and then he shows up, so now I'm wondering how much of this is just gonna be "I love the 80s etc style" with people just nostalgizing about Atari and less hearing from those actually there...
I love how they kept the original sound effects for Yar's Revenge Remixed. Because those are objectively the best sound effects. Atari 2600 was the original PLAY IT LOUD
I totally remember playing the shit out of Lunar Lander at the Exploratorium back in the day! I remember seeing it, upstairs, in a kind of out of the way area, and my 8 or 9 year old mind wondering why no one else was playing a free video game(?!) On a school trip, my buddy and I sat played it for like half our time there.
Going back to get my IRobot High Score here this weekend ... Some great games that I enjoy playing every month. (Local collector has many of these machines in original conditions so no Mame for these :) )
When I was a small child we got a 5200. The controllers broke (because of course they did.) My dad took me to KayBee, they said they didn’t have any replacements and I was like “???” We didn’t have games again until the nes.
I might pick this up. I had a TV Boy which was basically a 2600 clone that I wish I'd held on to. I played it a bunch but it'd be nice to go back to that era with .... like, an actual idea of what I was looking at.
Shocked to see Reign Orange Dreamsicle so high on the list tbh. I missed the episode it was in, but I tried that probably around a year ago and thought it was absolutely awful. I did like most of the other Reign flavours though. REALLY want to try that red Sour Patch Kids one but it’s nowhere to be found where I am.
Regarding your energy drink list....No Celsius, CLEAN (Yerba Mate), NOS, none of the flavored Red Bulls, Alani Nu, Full Throttle, Mountain Dew AMP.... Over representation of GFUEL, Monster, Rockstar, C4 and BANG imo
Wouldn't something like this for Nintendo be lovely? Probably would never happen though seeing as they still want 8 bucks for each single game in the Ninten-disney vault
What's with these horribly distracting captions at the bottom? The thing about Twitch is that it has closed captions, but you can turn them off. What's the point of hard-coding them into your video?
@Russo Is A Genius, Bro! RUclips has automatic captions on this very video. Not only can the subtitles be translated to English but literally dozens if not over 100 languages. Seriously. I can translate to Zulu if I want.
Yeah I can't justify dropping 40 bucks on this. The fact that I'd still spend $20 on it when I can use Retroarch on the same console to play all but the new games on here is probably a testament to how well this collection is put together though.
It’s like a prestige coffee table book, but when you get to a really interesting picture of a game, surprise! You can play that game.

these are some pretty cool Games
if only there was some kind of Room
to put them in
You wanna see the bottom of an avatar’s shoe?
Oh, you mean like a Room for Games! I wonder what you would call that sort of thing, though.
Game Condo
No gaming room is complete without sunset riders.

One of my favorite videos in a while, thanks for showing this. Would love to see more.
Jeff wearing that SPLX brand merch like an upper tier indie wrestler

My mind always resembles 1970’s news footage with something about a serial killer, but apparently games too now. Thanks Jeff!
Seeing this video and hearing this weeks podcast has convinced me to get this. Great looking collection and great video 👍

Funny you bring up Drew. He works for the developer now. Check it his recent episode on the noclip podcast. They are doing some cool stuff over there.
That never-released portable Breakout looks a lot like the Microvision Block Buster from Milton Bradley. WOnder if that's what Jeff was thinking of.

Drew Scanlon’s Atari 50!
I can't believe they found a way to make Breakout more fun.

Here's to another 50 Ataris!
2:30:32 normal person: "let's make another cool ball here"
artist: "oh god, should this ball really be here? it might look horrible"
Man in forgot how I used to long for food fights and quick sand. I still want a food fight too, damnit.
I might pick this up. I had a TV Boy which was basically a 2600 clone that I wish I'd held on to. I played it a bunch but it'd be nice to go back to that era with .... like, an actual idea of what I was looking at.
Oh man that purple miasma background you got going had my eyes hurting real bad.
1:00:18 "when they put guns in breakout, that's when it got good!"
Cloak & Dagger just got a 4K Blu Ray release, fyi
games today dont have enough jaunty tunes in them
When is the Atari Jaguars stream?? Get those controller overlays ready!
Hey Jeff, you should do a Single player Mario Party series, I think you would love it! Anyways keep up the good content!
cant get enough of Nolan Bushnell's sideburns.
24:57 that's a vintage wojak
Atari's back! Just a few years too late for Blade Runner, though.

The watermelon warheads flavor Ghost energy drink is so good too.
Jeremy Williams of Tested worked on VCTR-SCTR.
Like everyone else is saying, just keep wearing them Jeff. Your eyes will eventually adjust and the discomfort will go away.
3:46:22 So did you play "Mr.Robot and his Robot Factory" then? Very similar, and came with a level editor. I spent a LOT of time with that game.
tod frye seems like a fun guy
Must have had some bad hash when they made 2600 Pac-Man. lol.
The second I saw the guy in the thumbnail I said out loud to no one "Look at that fucking guy!" I want to be him
15:50 holy shit Sputnik gave us video games.
Will you make a playlist for this game
We've got a lot of balls, so it'll be ok.
Stick it out with the glasses. I had an adjustment period too but they changed my life.

Is there a book or something of nothing but ATARI art/covers?
Ok I trust them with a hotel now
Jeffari: FRRRRIIIIDAAAAAAAYYYYY
Friday!
Wish there was a way to buy this and not give money to Crypto Blockchain Web3 Atari.
Wouldn't something like this for Nintendo be lovely? Probably would never happen though seeing as they still want 8 bucks for each single game in the Ninten-disney vault
JIL
Jeff if you can find it, monster aussie lemonade is delicious

Dude! Ur too loud!
This seems super cool and also like something that will be 20 dollars in two months so even more exciting!
