Why is this mix not on the soundtrack? Seems like a missed opportunity. EDIT 08/02/2021 - It's has now been released on Han's WW84 (Sketches From the Soundtrack) as Track 11 - The Amazon. Thanks to Rodrigo for pointing it out!
@@ploopplaap3436 It's similar to Themyscira, but not identical. The choir is different and the percussions are more present here. The structure of this track is also much more streamlined.
Hans Zimmer is a genius and the creator of this wonderful theme; but Rupert Gregson-Williams was a very worthy successor in WW, he expanded on Hans' original theme, staying true to its core but at the same time adding a lot of his own: intricate and beautiful sounds (History Lesson), along with powerful badass themes pumped with energy (Action-Reaction).
Honestly, I really love more the first soundtrack... Gregson-Williams' did a very beautiful job and I feel like Zimmer failed a little bit in this one. I miss the leitmotiv from “Amazons Of Themyscira” tho
Years ago Hans declared that he was exhausted of the superhero genre and had nothing more to add. He should have followed his own words, because the WW84 soundtrack is so weak and generic that it doesn't even seem that it was made by the same man who composed the masterpiece that was the BvS and MoS soundtrack.
I disagree. When I watched the original Wonder Woman film I loved the film, but there were no real standouts in the score except for where they would use her original theme. Rupert's score gets the job done on first watch but it doesn't really hang around as memorable, and you don't really actively look for it. Same thoughts with Rupert's work on Aquaman. With WW84's score, I felt like Hans managed to reconnect it to BvS in a big way. He doesn't just reuse his themes but he transformed the whole score around a more hopeful version of her theme that's more reflective of her overall character whereas it comes off as brief and more mysterious in BvS, reflective of how she was viewed in that film.
I really love how the ww theme has evolved over the course of the movies. From the original (and incredible!) warrior theme from BvS to the way Gregson-Williams expanded on it beautifully in the first WW movie, to this excellent arrangement, it follows the character's arc perfectly imo
Same can be said of John Williams; Sequel Trilogy was hot garbage, but the music is still great. It makes me sad that I can't listen to music from TLJ or ROS without cringing.
This was SUCH a shift and lift from the original! And TINA GUO!!! Yayyy! Hearing this evokes everything in me from the Lynda Carter theme to the original to John Williams and wow. I totally get why Jenkins didn't want to call it a sequel before. WONDER WOMAN is the franchise where the entirety of the 20th century and 21st century superhero GENRE is reflected in!
This is epic. Gal Gadot is stunning. Hans Zimmer is the man. Just like Rupert Gregson Williams, who kept the core, expanding it, and Hans, while doing the WW84 soundtrack, kept the work of his colleague and also expanded it. Perfect combination. Respect.
I can only imagine how these musicians must feel playing this piece. Hans Zimmer is a magical composer, right up there with Howard Shore and John Williams. The three of them have created soundtracks that are iconic.
I reckon Hans Zimmer will go down in history as being one of the greatest composers, especially because every piece of music he produces is quite *distinct* from the next and that’s not an easy feat, he also has his own distinct *style* as with other musical greats. I think *distinctness* is important and becoming increasingly rare because people *only* focus on money, which leads to creative decline in various fields. It doesn’t make sense to me though, because logic dictates that a creative work that is distinctly *different* should make even more money.
The unfortunate thing about this planet but at the same time the most beautiful thing is that there is only going to be one Hans Zimmer. Nothing or no one can replace what he brings. So much depth. So much magic. A wizard. I'm lucky to have heard and lived during his time. An absolute legend.
I love this! Patty Jenkins has gone on record saying that she used the WW theme so little in the first movie because she didn't think it fit that version of Diana. For Hans Zimmer to tweak that theme to sound more uplifting says alot about art vs ego.
They used the old theme, the non-uplifting one, just a very different sounding and expanded version of it, in the cue "Open Road" so I don't think they completely abandoned it
Cette musique est tout simplement fantastique , divine , magistrale , personnellement elle me porte , merci Mr Zimmer , vous vous etes surpassé :) :) :)
