Pete Evick, guitarist and musical director for the Bret Michaels Band, has just released an autobiography entitled “MTV Famous”. His book chronicles the trials and tribulations of his 30-year career in the music business, from playing in cover bands in local bars, owning a recording studio, networking with countless celebrity musicians, and playing in front of hundreds of thousands of fans with one of his childhood heroes turned best friend, Bret Michaels.
“MTV Famous” is not your typical autobiography of embellished memories from days of drunken excess; Pete's book takes a more positive look at life and how he dreamed bigger for his career than most. There was a consorted effort to provide an open and honest look at his life and career without slamming or minimalizing people's involvement but to praise and thank them. Not only is it a Rock and Roll book, but Pete delves into how candling-making helped pull him out of the dark recesses of depression, which he has grown into a successful independent retail business with an online presence and several brick-and-mortar stores.
