I just bought this exact headphones, and i love that they are using a USB C now for charging. And the multi-pairing feature makes it so seamless to transition from desktop to my iphone. Also, love the production and presentation man. Keep it up!
Actual perfection! I got this for my birthday and I’m using them right now! They’re really amazing. Actually, Audio Technica has the best quality I’ve seen/heard. I’ve tested BOSE, JBL and so much more and this is all quality on a different God-Tier layer
@@jcap8391 I have heard, and take this from someone who is an amateur audiophile who has no experience they are slightly above average weight but I've heard the leather cushion helps and I also heard that the clamp is tighter if you have an above average head size. I don't know about the ear muff diameter but you could easily look it up. I'm buying these headphones because they seem like the best overall headphones for the pricepoint based on some research and Amazon reviews. I hope this helps.
Very good video with easier to understand information to quickly connect and get started using these headphones. My thoughts exactly about the confusing headphones controls.
The headphones are excellent, worse thing being the headband which deteriorates and flakes after about a year or two. I have the M50xBT1 and they still work perfectly but with no headband replacement I may have to get these.
My ATH-M50x headphone ear cups and headband both deteriorated and flaked. Luckily I was able to buy replacement cups and band which fit perfectly. This hasn't happened with my two pairs of Sennheiser headphones (Momentum 4, and PXC 480).
Good review. Thank you. I have the original M50x from 2012 and was considering these because I now need new a headset with mic for my studies. But hearing the mic test, I won’t bother getting them. The microphone sounds terrible. I don’t understand why it seems so difficult for headphones manufacturers to make headphones with decent microphones. So far the only good ones are the Corsair Virtuoso, the ATH-M50xSTS, the Audeze Maxwell, the Beyerdynamic mmx 100, 150 and 300.
Received these M50x BT2 a few days ago and out of the box the sound quality is excellent. They definitely exceeded my expectation for the price and I've not even bedded them in yet. What would be a considerable upgrade in sound quality for Trance music on these (I don't need Bluetooth necessarily).
Would there be any difference at all (frequency response, quality, etc.) between using the cable with the BT2 and using the original wired version of the M50X? The wired M50X is a notoriously excellent studio monitoring headphone, and I'd like a pair of headphones that can do both (wireless audio, and studio monitoring).
I bought them, and they are work perfectly as both studio monitoring headphones and bluetooth headphones. Actually, the AT app, which includes parametric EQ for the headphones, allows you to make them less "flat" for listening purposes.@@ShivamSingh-nt8tw
I admit though, it was hard to find an ideal, coiled, 3.5mm (standard aux) cable for wired use, as typical cables designed for wired studio headphones, like the wired M50s for example, are generally 2.5mm to 3.5mm, with locking function. These headphones have a rather deep input jack so not all top quality aux cables fit, and anything with a lock function will not fit.
My previous ones were Sennheiser's PXC II 550 which started disconnecting/switching off randomly few days after warranty expired. I own Audio-Technica now and I'm super happy for better sound quality and better App.I'm not an audiophile though. I hope they last longer than the others.
i'm considering getting them, but i do have a question : from a mixing/mastering perspective, does the wireless mode create any big clarity loss compared to wired, or is it very suddle and i won't notice it / no loss at all ? i'm not an audiophile but i need good clarity to get good mixes. thanks for the video !
I’m not exactly sure myself, but I would argue that a line connection would more likely be more clear and have a smaller chance of losing quality. I’m not trained enough to hear the difference :)
Nice Review. If you compare the ATH-M50xBT2 To the Bose NC 700 or Bose Q45/Sony WH-1000XM4 or WH-1000XM5..What you will choose one comes in Overall Sound Quality/Comfort/Build Quality/Battery life and Charging/Features/App and Why please?
Just picked up the ice blue pair today. Out of the box, the cable isn't compatible with my Xperia 1 V, but the Bluetooth works perfectly fine. I got them to replace my Hello Kitty Edition Razer Krakens; the earcups were turning yellow from the long D&D sessions. Hopefully these will work with the on board AI Noise Cancelling on my motherboard though
Amazon Germany is also sold out. I got the limited edition in orange, though, which admittedly looks even cooler than the stock one. But it's 20€ more. Other shops here still have them, just without Prime shipping :) Even the orange ones for the usual price
I can only assume its first come first serve if you place a backorder on Amazon. You'll get one when they get one to give you. I put an order down on the 6th and it took about a week for Amazon to get one and ship it to me. Supposed to get it sometime in the next couple days. I would order one now instead of waiting for it to list as in stock. If Amazon is shipping what supply is trickling in, they'll likely not get more than is needed to meet demand, therefore staying listed as out of stock. I'd guess it has to do with material shortages or early Christmas shoppers or a combination of both but I have no idea. Just happy I got one.
Concerning the Sonys, I decided against them and for this one. From what I found researching, the Sony does have particularly worse audio quality. Less battery life, bad multi-pairing. Close to very good noise cancelling, though. But it does worden audio quality even further. This and the finicky touch controls are both things I don't really need and the passive noise canceling from the Audio-Technicas is said to be good, that's enough for my needs. Lastly, if I remember correctly, the Sonys don't support LDAC on every device as some phone manufacturers have to enable the feature on their side first. No idea if this also applies to the ATs, honestly
Is it possible to get a cable with C type connection at both ends so I could connect the headphones directly into my smartphone where my music app is located?
Hi. I'm hoping you can help me. I bought a pair and absolutely love it, but I can't get the microphone to work with my android device. It automatically connects with my phone's mic. How can I change this?
So they cant support High Definition Audio if I use them on anything that does not include the android app? Not even on a physical High definition audio player? Would be relevant to me, if not I have to cancel my order and buy something else.
Charging these headphones is a headache. Overall they are amazing headphones but the charging is horrible, too picky with the cable, you are supposed to use only the one provided which is super short and it is usb A to usb C (long ago since i don’t use usb A)
Very different headphones :) Sony xm4 with ANC sound more in your head, like if you are in a bubble and hear the music. The sony xm4 have more bass, but it’s not kick bass, it’s muddy bass.
