Nice! I love the sheer preponderance of very capable music communicators made accessible by this technology. Most ideas, concepts, theory, technique, etc. in music are generally known by those of us with higher level training and experience, but it's so helpful to hear the variety of takes, perspectives, and ways of using the techniques and concepts from different communicators- yourself very much included. I particular enjoy Neely, Beato, and Collier, among others.
Indeed - and the parodies were hilarious! As a private guitar instructor I often watch to see how others present concepts I'm already familiar with. I have been using "Twinkle Twinkle" to teach harmonization concepts for years - and then Lucas does not one, but two awesome videos harmonizing Twinkle Twinkle. Great work Lucas - keep it up!
Waiting for the second part, with Look Mum No Computer, Charles Berthoud, Rob Scallon, SamuraiGuitarist, Seth Everman, Wintergatan, The Dooo and Andrew Huang.
The Rick Beato, Adam Neely and especially the Jacob Collier impressions were too good!!! 😂😂😂 I immediately knew the Rudy Ayoub one when you said "bro!" I'd love to see you parody Ichika Nito next!
I like much when you play " giants step " what technique !!!! .the progression chords and bass lines aŕe incredibles. Also you plays magnifique ragtime. You are complete guitarist!!!
The fact that this video is two years old and still relevant craks me up. I guess once a youtuber gets commited to a character it's hard to change the formula. Or maybe it's the RUclips algorithm that keeps recomending the same cluster.
I randomly suggested in a video some time ago that you play giant steps just because you're great and I like that tune on the guitar lol don't know if you saw that request but thanks for a great 15 seconds!
Ha ha. Love to see Davie plays the character & Rudy doing bromance with himself (but Lucas didn't dare to play the 0-3-5). Lucas is too good, even when he tries to nerf himself down, he's still a lot better than the actual most tik-toker.
When I go through phases of playing guitar (like now) my RUclips recommendations fill up with these people. It's like a cute self-contained eco system.
The ones I know (about half the list, maybe a little less) were spot on. Especially Davie. But then again, it's easy to go Davie. And you did really, really well one certain Lucas Brar. REALLY well. Kudos, sir.
And then there's Pat Finnerty, constantly lampooning music RUclips tropes like walls of pedals and amps, the "hmmm" face in the thumbnail, dense music theory jargon, playing waaaaay too fast in "quick lessons," and Rhett Shull talking about the pentatonic scale.
Funny story for those still perusing comments on here. I left a comment on a super-avant-garde Rick Beato video where some master musician was playing in probably all 12 keys, so many scale variations and 9/8, 15/8, 5/4 and whatever time signature was cool to him in that moment. Not super accessible to most ears, as you can imagine. Comment gave much respect to the fine musician, said I improvised stuff like that all the time (did not say I was as good as master dude) and said I was happy that we have soundtrack music so there is a place for such a thing in the world, but then asked the question, is it actually GOOD though? Like, if you tried to play it around the campfire, no one could possibly whistle the melody, (which is a common reference to if a melody is memorable). Rick replied that I obviously had no idea what I was talking about if I was talking about whistling around a campfire and was a bit of a jerk to me saying there's no way I play like that and before I had a chance to respond, he removed the video entirely. My conclusion is that he's not really as nice as he seems, as he felt the need to insult a random fan. It's possible the he's the James Cordon of music youtube, just a guess. Some filler to the story that I find fascinating. The video was titled something like, "Everything I learned about harmony comes from this," and in the description he says that he played the song to his son Dylan every single day when he was younger. You know, the one with the insane perfect pitch. Thing is, that kid is now not interested in music at all. Certainly no connection there:) Have a nice day if you made it this far and remember to be kind, especially since you don't know who you are talking to here on the Tube. He could have been insulting a 9 year old for not understanding the double lydian demonic scale for all he knew, LOL! Kind regards, music fans.
