Ok, so during my menstrual life, I had endometriosis, cysts, and fibroids. I suffered monthly from my very first period, and up until menopause. As I got older doctors kept pushing me to have a hysterectomy. My firm response was always "NO!" I was convinced that unless I had cancer, that wasn't the answer. And come to find out, it wasn't. Lazy doctor's do the easy thing. Great one's work hard to save our organs and keep us comfortable. A doctor in California told me this. He said that while symptoms from my issues were messy and painful, they could be controlled until menopause, at which time ALL of the conditions would be cured due to the drop in estrogen, which feeds them. He added the ONLY reason a hysterectomy was necessary, was for cancer. That the bleeding would not kill me. All could be treated and controlled. Sure enough, one year after going into menopause, tests were normal, everything was gone. And at 68 my parts are all there. I'm so thankful for that wonderful doctor, and my persistence in saying "NO!" He also said if a woman doesn't have cancer but still wants a hysterectomy, he advises her to go elsewhere.

Thank you. I had my second myomectomy abt 3 weeks ago but before that, I did a lot of labs including Pap smear and the doctor told me he could see traces of cancer in the womb so he advised me to take the whole womb out but I told him no because I dnt have any child so how could I do that. So he recommended a second lab called DNA TYPING and it came out negative. Some of these doctors can send u to your grave. It’s always good to have a second opinion. Now that the womb is free, I will still do some labs in the womb to be completely sure everything is ok.

So far from what I’ve learned about fibroids, it’s caused by estrogen dominance. Estrogen dominance is possibly a response to lowered levels of progesterone. Low progesterone can be caused by too much cortisol, a hormone secreted during times of stress. So this may contribute to the high incidence of fibroids. It’s kind of weird that Dr. Oz didn’t mention this. Also, meat and dairy consumption, as well as vitamin D deficiency, have been linked to fibroids.

I suffered from fibroids and endometriosis for years. Of course the doctor recommended hysterectomy. Thankfully I listened to my gut instinct and kept researching. I ended up doing Uterine Fibroid Embolization through my wrist. As they say, it is “minimally invasive” and has a quick recovery. I don’t think my fibroids are entirely gone but I’ve had a few excellent years of no pain and no bloating or heavy bleeding. It has been amazing! I may have to do it again before menopause but I’m glad I have options. Ladies, do your research. You don’t have to go under the knife there are other options.

Hi, I'm considering the same procedure you had done. I'm 45. How old were you when you did that procedure?
I've done a lot of research for years now and hysterectomy will never be an option for me unless my life is at risk. But I'm scared about the embolization and to know they went through your wrist is fascinating.

    • @sunnyrays2281
      @sunnyrays2281 10 месяцев назад

@@ntitus3025 I was almost 41 when they did the procedure and it has been about 2.5 years now. Not all providers can do through the wrist, some can only do the groin. I traveled to Saint Louis University Medical Center to have my procedure done as I live in a very rural area in the west and no good medical options. I was pretty good to go within just a few days but I booked a week at a local hotel just in case I ended up having any complications. Thankfully I did not. I was very functional within a few days but there is pain as the fibroids lose blood flow and die so I would recommend taking the suggested time away from stress/work if you can. I was gone a little over a week but I think the recommended two week recovery would have been better for me. Also amazing the small incision they do on your wrist. I can’t even see it now, no scarring and super small. I know this isn’t for everyone and people need to advocate for themselves because it is still health care and providers and staff can get it wrong. But in my experience it was good and minimally invasive. I do not think they are entirely gone as I think some may have grown back or were missed but I have had so much more energy, much easier periods, less pain all around, less bloating. It has been a miracle for me and I would consider doing it again in a few years if I need to do it again. I’m hopeful that my fibroids will never return to how bad they were before. I would fall down in debilitating pain. They are terrible! Best of luck to you.

Important to note that not all fibroids protrude and stick out like this lady’s.
Fibroids (like the intramural types) can also grow inside the uterine walls and inside the womb, causing pain and heavy bleeding but no large lumps sitting directly under the skin that stick out. Just because you don’t see lumps doesn’t mean that you don’t have any fibroids! You can have a flat tummy and still have large fibroids.

I ended up lossing 50lb in 3 months because the pain was so bad and they found endometriosis. I could feel the tumors growing in me. I finally had my open myomectomy surgery and so happy there out! if they do comeback I will get a hysterectomy. I never wanted to in that much pain again. I found 7 of them and 3 where the size of grapefruits.

If you don’t suffer from them, quit the assumptions and theories. If you see a woman with protruding lower abdomen, don’t proceed to body shame. I have been diagnosed with fibroids, and similar to the lady in this video, I was offered a hysterectomy because I’m in my 40s. I just don’t care for the thought of losing body parts. The only way that I’m willing to do that is if they are cancerous. Otherwise, I don’t want to have unnecessary surgeries, especially if they have the potential of coming back. Once I received my diagnosis two years ago, I ended up visiting a nutritionist and she told me to cut out chicken. I have not had chicken in over two years. I also changed my deodorant to a natural kind. I went plant-based and started juicing as well. My last piece of the puzzle is to start exercising. My stomach has started to go down slightly. I will have to have an ultrasound to check the size of the fibroids. I will say that at one point when I would lay flat on stomach, I could feel them. Now that I’ve changed my products and diet I can lay on my stomach and I don’t feel them as much as once did. So that is definitely some progress. I’m thinking because fibroids can return, making a lifestyle change could definitely be of benefit. I did see in the comment section that hair and body products could be leading to the absorption of toxins in the body also contributing to fibroid growth. I am definitely more conscious about hair products that I purchase. No longer purchasing them from a beauty supply store but when I attend black events, I look for women that make their own handmade Shea butter, and I use that in place of mass produced hair products. I’m definitely, not using any more relaxers either. It’s been years since I have had a relaxer, but I can imagine it’s impact on the body as well. One big one for me was caffeine and sodas. I completely cut sodas out about four months ago and I only drink fresh juices and water. This has definitely helped. I have gone from a 10 day period to a five day. And also cutting and reducing stress can definitely help.

I discovered I have fibroids and a cyst at age 29 when I got pregnant . This cause me to have premarture labor at 33 weeks and stress also contributed to my premature labor. Thank God I had a healthy baby girl via C section weighing 3 pounds 17 ounces. When my water broke. No pain, thought it was pee, called my doctor and I had to be admitted for labor. When I deliver about 3 or 4 fibroids were taking out. Disgusting looking. The fibroids grew up as big as the baby. I still have about 4 but they have shrunk into grape sizes. One year after being in menopause, ALL were gone, cured. Hormones feed them. Menopause starves them. DO NOT agree to a hysterectomy. Lazy doctors cut. Dedicated ones treat and wait for nature to take its course.

If I recall I think I have tiny fibroids... But my doc did not know what to do to fix this issue. She suggested the pill but nope thanks. I came across the conference of a doc who talked about some of his clients and in the end suggested then to stop all dairies and meat ( full of hormones and growth hormones) I stopped and guess what?! My next period were wayyy less, the pain was gone... So before started medications.... Start removing those from your diet and see if it changes everything. I was also a vegetarian for 10 years and still suffered with pms. But soy was the culprit I found out, which I have cut out.
I'm now drinking herbs and green tea that specifically shrinks fibroids. It's only been 2 months and I see some changes in pain and flow. I have other things I want to consistently do, but I don't want to be overzealous. I had a hysterectomy at the age of 38, I am now 70. I had fibroids and endometriosis and it caused infertility. My mother also had fibroids. There is an incident with my mother I will never forget. I was 12 or 13 and my mother took the bus to work. One evening she came home with blood all over her clothes, on the bus. After two failed attempts at surgery in hopes of relieving all the bleeding, pain, having a baby and what happened to my mother, I decided to have the surgery and I'm glad I did.

I had aconfition named adenonyosis, i.e. the tissue that normally lines the uterus (endometrial tissue) grows into the muscular wall of the uterus.).
I had to have the mirena coil and now I have constant blood in my urine, severe hormonal.weight gain, distended stomach and nausea, exhaustion etc. and an ultrasound found one big fibroid and a mass. I am having a procedure as an emergency, to remove and reinsert the coil, take biopsies and some other procedures (while they are in there). I pray they are benign and things go well from this point forward. Wishing all us managing these conditions all the very best. Love from England, UK 🙏🏾

Stop eating bread, especially white, pasta, rice, all sugars and replace it with honey instead. Was hard but eventually the body gets use to it. I basically eat a lot of greens, raw kale , spinach, cucumbers to start. Absolutely no dairy, but I love ice cream so I found a dairy free ice cream, it feeds the fibroids in my discovery during research. Of course fruits but lots have sugar so mainly veggies and especially bell peppers. I also take supplements because it’s about healing the gut as well. I did this for about a year and by the time I got them check again they were hard to find basically almost gone. My doctor was shocked.😆 As I stated everyone is different so hopefully this too may work for someone else as well:) research, and a healthy, well-balanced diet with super foods and greens is a key factor in helping us all out. Also absolutely no sodas only water and teas. Sorry it’s so long and hope this helps if needed:)

We women are really unlucky that in this modern world, Medical science has developed a lot but not in fibroid treatment because doctors cannot remove or shrink or reduce fibroid from uterus by using medicine at all. Doctors are failed in treating fibroid by using medicine. Why women need to get an abdominal myomectomy in uterus to remove fibroid rather it could be removed by applying vaccination or medicine on this deadly disease in women. It is known that about 80% women in the world have fibroid in their uterus. Although vaccination for cancer of uterus has been discovered but not for fibroid at all. It is a shame for all the gynecologists and scientists on women diseases especially for fibroids.
Now, all the doctors in the world and medical scientists are requested that please discover a vaccine or medicine for fibroid in uterus so that lots of women can get rid of having a big scar on their abdomen for fibroid operation.
Please share it with all of the people and doctors in the world so that vaccine or medicine can be discovered very quickly which can help reduce operation for fibroid treatment.

And said it's the size of a lime but I don't need to worry about it. I'm realizing now that apparently I should be and I need to go see a different doctor. One who cares about me as a patient. Cause hearing all this I go through so much pain and bleeding heavily and as I get older it's getting worse. I am going to take care of this ASAP! Like thank you! 🙏🏾

Oh my goodness! I pray you don't go through what I did. I had a golf ball sized cyst on my ovary and the weight of it managed to twists my ovary, killing it, there was no way to describe the pain. They had to remove my ovary. Luckily I still got pregnant with one ovary. Get a second opinion.

So now I’m just waiting to see how I heal up❤️😩🙏🏽🙏🏽

I have big fibroids and will try to take the progesteron pill so I can take a break from these nasty accidents.
However I would like to ask everybody to look for a second opinion, a histerectomy is a serious operation. There is a procedure now where they take the uterus out but leave the ovaries and that helps still with the hormones.
In Germany there is a non invasive procedure with radiofrequency where basically the fibroids are split in pieced through radio frequency.
In addition my Ob Gyn recommended a variation of radiofrequency called Sonata.
A myomectomy is an invasive operation and there are other options.
Some doctors also recommend a hormone cocktail that is suppressing oestrogen and progesterone as is thought this might shrink the fibroids and cut the period. However my doctor mentioned there are no real studies to prove their efficacy.
It is a given that most health remedies are tested on men, for the same reason many women's heart attacks are ignored cause they manifest differently.
We as women need to get louder and ask for pur rights and that science is investing in the diseases affecting us.

I did a little research a while back, and saw a medical show that confirmed what I found out. Some very strong possible causes are, substances from some relaxers/perms and other leave-in hair products, some types of make-up and hormones found in certain meats.

After menopause, I discovered I had bleeding in my urine which was only seen through lab work. 6 months to a year of getting test done I was told by the Obgyn Dr. I had some small fibroids. Turns out they got worse as time went on. Had symptoms like I still had a period. Most of my middle School and High School years I was pretty regular, I played sports and was very active until my 30's and 40's. On occasion I would have pain and other symptoms which were a bit off during my period but nothing as bad as after my mid 50's. Looking back I believe that my being active helped me with not getting full blown symptoms until I stop being active. Found out my mother also had fibroids and had a hysterectomy in her mid 40's she wasn't active as a teen and she had heavy flows through out her teens and 30's to the point she would be bed ridden for 2 weeks every Month. The only time she wasn't bed ridden was during her pregnancy. This makes me think that being active sports wise was a way of controlling my fibroids during my earlier years, because of our two different experiences and the only difference is how active I was from my Mother's non sports.

Hormone balance. Pregnancy is high progesterone as we go into menopause we loose all progesterone. We have to supplement on a cycle progesterone and estrogen. Exercise always good but it’s hormones

I was diagnosed with endometriosis about 15 yrs ago. Suffer with debilitating menstruation cramps and heavy bleeding for the first 2 days of my cycle. Last year, i was told by my obgyn that i have 2 fibroids, but it should't cause me any problems since they are very small but if i wanted to have it removed it was up to me. Im 47 yrs old now, never had any kids unfortunately due to my endo. I had 1 pregnancy in my late 20's about 1 and a half yrs after marriage but that ended up in an early miscarriage. Had an ivf in my 30's which was unsuccessful.
Now i just try to manage my pain, which isnt always easy until i go into menopause

I’ve been dealing with these for years. I had one vagina myomectomy to remove the largest one at the time. I also have one that is on the outside of my uterus that is pedunculated. Not only did the larger one grow back with a vengeance, but the second one is almost as large. I’ve been through enough hell since I was a teenager that I’m getting this beast removed. I wanted to have a hysterectomy done years ago but doctors refused to do it. They said I was too young and didn’t know what I was talking about. Or that I’d regret it because it meant not being to have kids. Like I’d really regret not being in now constant pain. Even my current OB agrees that I should’ve had it done years ago. Now I finally get to say goodbye to the beast in a couple of weeks.
