Firstly, there will be increased activity in tourism and the export of fish and shellfish products. Additionally, there will be increased activity in education, culture, and sports. Lastly, Greenland will intensify its efforts to implement Greenland's latest security policy strategy.
Thanks Josh, same to you, it was my pleasure to be able to be on this flight and meet you. It was truly a special event and great day for the nation of Greenland and their national airline Air Greenland 🇬🇱 Thanks again 😁
What a great video. Seeing all the people from Nuuk lining the hills and roads was extremely touching. Thanks for letting us share your ride. After watching the airport transform over the last 2 years this was a fitting tribute video. Safe travels!
I've watched the Dash-8s landing at Nuuk for the last couple of years through the webcams. Great that the capital now has direct international flights. Enjoyable video, Dom.
Me and my girlfriend did Copenhagen to Kangerlussuaq a year ago. What an incredible journey and place to visit. Great video and it brought back so many memories. Tag!
You did a GREAT JOB @WorldWide Dom on this video on Air Greenland’s first flight into NUUK because it is VERY EXCITING because it opens up more possibilities for people to visit Greenland from different parts of the world. You also look good in this video and I DO LOVE A330neo’s and they look QUITE GOOD. Thank YOU SO MUCH for sharing this experience with the rest of us and I wish the airport of NUUK the best of luck expanding their operations there. I heard that because of this expansion, Air Greenland will be leasing two 737-800’s form the first time. So, they will have one A330neo, Dash-8’s, and 2 737-800’s next year in 2025.
Awesome Flight, great video, I like winter, ice, then Nuuk is perfect, but I believe that Greenland isn´t a country, Greenland belong to Denmark, the light will good for Nuuk, Greenland and the people, was a unforgettable flight. Congratulations for the video.
Greenland is a self-governing part of the Danish Realm. They have representatives in the Danish Parliament but also have their own government and Prime Minister.
Hi Dom, I’m watching your channel for the first time. Just subscribed absolutely blog I thoroughly enjoyed it. Keep up the amazing work. Looking forward to many of your videos.😊😊
What can I say, other than “FANTASTIC!!!” You could see how important this was to the people of Greenland and feel your joy at sharing the event. Lovely to see Josh Cahill on the same flight too. Well done, Dom. 👏👏👏👏
My first WWD video, thanks to John Cahill for the introduction on his video. I do wish I wasn't playing a drinking game that I have to take a shot every time Nuuk is said as I'm drunk already 90 secs in 🍹
Amazing video of an amazing place , personally I think the impact will not be as big as maybe some people think . Sure maybe in 30 yrs but it will still remain a niche market in my opinion
You did a great job with this video. Keep in mind there is only 57K citizens in Greenland. 19K in Nuuk. So all things considered, this is a pretty huge airport and a pretty huge plane for a small nation.
@Mike-zx1kx Ryanair doesn't typically experience door issues. In fact they're really efficient at disembarking passengers because their planes are equipped with stairs. This saves them having to rely on 3rd party equipment. This might also explain how they achieve 25 minute turnarounds.
@steinarnielsen8954 He he. I were referring to the Boeing Max series many many issues, hereunder one door that actually fell off in flight and the many door faults that could have caused same to happen, had these emergency inspections not been carried out. Another Boeing worker just opened up as well. I can recommend listening to what he tells to "60 minutes" in a 13-14 minutes talk with them, released on YT today.
Icelandair got first Airbus ever few days ago. They will get more Airbus next year. The new Airbus will do the first ever flight to Stockholm on December 10th
Old runway were removed and a entirely new and longer runway made. An entirely new terminal have been built. The year long process of building this runway in an mountainous area under difficult conditions can be seen in several videos documenting it here on YT.
Hi Dom, you must be a very proud man to be on this flight to Nuuk. How long has it taken for this new airport to be built? Let's hope the locals will now get used to planes landing regularly now

This is a very moving video report, had a tear in my eye a few times. Very well done. The beautiful A330-800 in that great livery, the great scenery and the reception of the locals welcoming you all made my day ❤
23:19 Are you actually required to scan your passport at check in? Because there is no passport control when travelling between Greenland and the Schengen area.
Airlines require photo identification usually this is a passport however some airline in some countries will accept photo id such as a driver’s license, though most airline stick to the default and as for a passport.
@@WorldWide_Dom In Norway you can normally use self service check in machines without being asked for ID. As long as you're traveliing within the Schengen area.
Slow down your camera movements, your content is interesting and informative, just slow down the camera movement and your videos are fine, steady not fast give the viewer a few seconds to see what you show ✌️❤️🇬🇧
I don't want to sound mean, and might get hate from Greenlanders - but if they have flights to Copenhagen at the moment, is it fully international so far? Although I do hope for them, they get fully international in the future. And given it's location, can Air Greenland become a competitor to Icelandair on the Europe to America route?
@@RudydeGroot well that's exactly the reason to visit. It's a real experience to visit in winter and not too hot when visiting in summer. Tundra landscape can be really beautiful, there's no need for trees to enjoy the landscape. There are definitely things to do as well, it's a town of 20000 People, you can go the to Swimming pool, visit the cultural centre, go on hikes, walk along the boardwalk, visit a cafe or bar, go on Kayaking tours and more
@@herodesees3767 no offence, but you can have a tundra landscape in Lapland as well, including reindeer, northern lights, snow packed pine trees and it's way cheaper too. Especially if you are living in Europe. You get more for your money in Lapland (Sápmi) than in Greenland. And you even a have similar culture living there. The Sámi people can be compared with the Inuit.
@@RudydeGroot yeah that's definitely fair, although Finland is not a tundra(as there are pine trees). And actually the cost of being in Lapland during winter is similar if you're travelling from western Europe, the price of the flights will be lower though. But Greenland is more of a boutique adventure destination. The masses will choose Lapland or Finnmark or Iceland instead.

It’s not a new airport

When SAS start up Air Greenland will have a bit of competition. 😉
SAS not very competitive. I hope Ryanair will start up.
@steinarnielsen8954 Ryanair uses 737 MAX series. You need planes that can keep their doors. Wind get´s a bit cold in Greenland.
