There is a town in northern Texas called Nocona. That is where the nikona boot factory is or was. As a long haul truck driver I had stopped in there a few times but have not been in there for years. I have several pair of Nocona's and absolutely love them. Thanks for sharing!!
Love to see an Alvie’s boot! I have 2 pairs and find them a diamond in the rough. Not enough people wear or review Alvie’s and they are some of the highest quality I’ve seen out there for the price range.
@freddiewieneke228 Do you know if Alvie's insoles are foam or just leather all the way through. It's hard to know for sure since there are hardly any reviews on them lol. I hope someone catches on soon man.
I have owned several different styles and brands of boots. Mostly Dan Post, however I have a pair of Alvies "Comal" in black, and absolutely love them. I also have a pair of Alvies "BFG" (Billy F Gibbons) boots on pre order.
I've known a couple of people who were close to me that have ordered Tecovas boots. They were both very pleased. One of them has a very wide foot and sometimes has a difficult time getting comfort in a boot. But he was very pleased with his Tecovas boots. They cut out the middle man so the prices are more reasonable. You ought to check them out. 😉👍
@@stevebuckskinner5482 that is incorrect information. I just talked to Nick a Rios of Metcedes. He told me Olate boots are still hand made at their facility in Texas. My latest Olathe boots still have the usa tag on the inside pull tab.
I LOVE your cowboy boots, Gary Thomas!! I've LOVED cowboy boots since I was little! I have a broken-in brown pair with a more pointed toe. There a slight darker shade of brown than yours. I wear mine with loose jeans, jerseys and even shorts!! I LOVE the stitching on the toe of cowboy boots. I think it makes them stand out more. I LOVE how they make me look taller. I'm 5'10" and I wear size 12. Cowboy boots need their own paid holiday!! :) :) I feel the same way you do about cowboy boots! 👍😎😊👊 I want a black pair next, maybe with the metal toe taps on them!! Can't wait!!
Howdy and thanks for the comment. I'm only 5'8". I broke my back in 2014 and shrunk about two inches. I wear cowboy boots everyday. Everywhere. I volunteer at my boys elementary school and have for three years. All the kids call me cowboy. I've got a pair of Lucchese suede leather boots on the way in the same cut as my Lucchese ostrich boots. If they work out I'll make a video review on them. Have a great day. Gary
My first pair of boots of the style was cody james. Rigorous abuse. An look just right. 12 d fit great. I am 12 wide or 13 sneaks. You are right. For the average roughian they are verrrrrry comfortable too. And I love seeing the all leather boot in its entirety as I slip it on from stocked heal to the soft insert. Great
Are all your cowboy boots 9 1/2? I wear 8D on Lucchese which is my favorite boot company. I been trying to buy Dan Post , Nocona, and Tony Lama but people say they are smaller and narrower. Is it true?
I wear them until their dry if they get wet. My Cody James are about five year old boots that have seen every surface and weather condition. Cowboy boots are an investment to me. I take good care of them. On old pairs I have retired, I use boot trees for storage. Thanks for the comment. Happy trails.
Loved the video , very informative. I'm looking to get myself my first pair and have been looking at the Eldorado company it's a western rust bison snip toe , could you recommend a few companies in the $300 to $400 price range thank you sir
If you can find them, Olathe is a great hand made boot made in Texas. I actually like them better than my Lucchese for everyday work/wear. They are a real classic made boot with a wide variety in price. I found mine at Outpost Western Store. Great question. Thanks.
Disappointingly shallow summary of a bunch of boots, with nary a bit of actual specific info to use in considering boots. Too many old brands have vanished, some deservedly because they switched to fake leather uppers, or really inferior hides that did not hold up. Understanding the older hand construction methods is important, because it differentiates quality even if style is your only interest; just as high end dress shoes are going to be leather soled, so are dressier boots. Exotic hides are giveaways, that the wearer has never swung a leg over a saddle, but there are exceptions. Learning to tell quality leather, especially in the upper and liners, is important.

Nocona, Tony Lamas and Double H are in my stable. Been finding lots of used boots at garage and estate sales. Been wearing boots for over 40 years.

I think the BFG will be nice.
Thanks for watching.
There are some Cody James boots in python I want
Thank you, Gary T. Great info. Peace.

I tried some Tecovas but they were too wide in the heel. Nice boots but they just didn't fit my foot.
My favorite boots are Olathe.

Unfortunately, Olatha's are made in China now.

Nice video, a guitarist & cowboy boot fan here as well 🙏🏻

You have Geiger art on the wall and love cowboy culture … we might be brothers

Very good review! I enjoyed this. 👍
I enjoyed your enthusiasm of your boots so much, I've watched this one 3 times! Really good presentation! 👍
Great video
I have that wrangler shirt 👕
You honestly need to use cedar boot trees. Those boots are being ruined when you let them dry wet and or damp without any inner support.

Tecovas.
I tried Tecova boots and they just didn't fit my feet. Nice boot though. I prefer Olathe. Hand made in Texas.
