One thing I've always loved about Alexi is his solos fit the songs perfectly. It's not just him trying to go the fastest, or just doing random crazy solos. They're always melodic and in line with each song.
@@homergump3 I agree, it's why I personally consider him the best to ever do it. Not just the technical ability, but the songwriting. You can hear little shimmers and fragments of his 80's metal influences in his writing, but it always comes off so original and undeniably catchy in the end.
Him and janne spoke about when you’re in a bar and a Scorpions song comes on everybody might not know the lyrics but everybody could sing the guitar solos. That should always be the goal when you write a solo.
Just came here to say we miss you Alexi. Thanks for all your inspiration. And said "hey dude you dropped this" and you looked at me and said thank you with a wild grin, you were so stoked I didn't steal it hahaha. RIP Legend! 🤘
@@JeremyBarbell He probably wrote the album when he was 16 years old. Such a huge loss, I cannot fathom until this day. I just hope he's found peace in Lord's throne. R.I.P Alexi.

COB taught me to love metal music. Were my first metal concert. Were very important for me as a teenager and companioned me all the years after - not every single day like in my teenage years but from time to time, has always been a joy. His death made me realize again how important COB has been for my life even if I prefered other bands the past 10 years. The message that the band splitted hit me, but I was glad to hear that alexi was continuing so that I would be able to enjoy his compositions further. The message of his death hit me harder than I could have imagined before... His music will be an important part of the rest of my life, I will always be sad that he had to leave so young. Hope he found peace in his life that carried him to its end
Was just listening to this recently. Quite a terrible loss. Let the wind blow out the night, because it gets more painful everytime i die. RIP Alexi. You brought so much joy.
I just learned that one of my favourite guitarists, and greatest inspirations died. I learned it from reading these comments. He was a great musician. Seeing Bodom live was one of the best days of my life and I will always remember them.
Hey, this is a big fan from Taiwan I went to see COB's show 2 or 3 times those days , since 10 years ago, COB is almost my style of playing guitar, singing style Alexi was ready to go to another level with god he was truely hero of mine, thank you so much

I remember when this came out... In the end of the year the band ended... But even after it I brought the album, after one year than I brought "Hate Crew Deathroll" and now... I will buy all the albums. Thank you Alexi 🤘🏼🖤 Let's remember him, listening to his legacy in COB, Sinergy and the work that he did in the end in Bodom After Midnight, that will be released very soon.
I remember when they first released this. I set my alarm to wake up early to listen to it. But I found out they released it at midnight so I checked it out on RUclips, and it was like Christmas morning for me. To hear Bodom finally get back to that neoclassical sound was surreal. Gave me the same feelings I got when I first heard them back in high school. I couldn’t fall asleep I was so excited to listen to the song over and over.
That's the year where he was touring for the 2011 Relentless, Reckless For Ever & composing the 2012 Halo of Blood album. Not sure how ''an absolute wreck'' can compose an album like Halo of Blood. Great songs, vertical catchy, melodic and sound like ALexi allways did!! Hé was not amongst us but his Legacy will prevail, Forever!! RIP Guitar Legend!!
More in the "Halo of Blood" vein than "I Worship Chaos" which is a good thing. Good riffs especially the one that comes just before the very melodic and nice solo. Very hopeful for this new release!
@@JeremyBarbell I can't agree personally and I recommend you to revisit songs like All Twisted, One Bottle and a Knee Deep, Bodom Blue moon, Damage Beyond Repair. It was a mix of modern COB and Hate Crew Deathroll. IWC has it's moments though, my favorites are All for Nothing and Horns
All for nothing was good, damaged beyond repair had a couple cool parts, but was boring overall to me. I didnt like All Twisted at all, or One Bottle and a Knee deep. Bodom Blue Moon was probably their best song on there. On IWC I love Widdershins, My Bodom, Morrigan, and others, and I just felt the solos and melodies in general were better on IWC personally.
@@JeremyBarbell I'll give it a spin this night to revisit, I remember Widdershins was pretty good. Last real great album is still HCDR and the first 3 are just masterpieces.
