One thing I've always loved about Alexi is his solos fit the songs perfectly. It's not just him trying to go the fastest, or just doing random crazy solos. They're always melodic and in line with each song.

I still remember you dropping your beanie at the Brisbane show and I picked it up and ran after you like a full on lunatic fan boy! And said "hey dude you dropped this" and you looked at me and said thank you with a wild grin, you were so stoked I didn't steal it hahaha. RIP Legend! 🤘

COB taught me to love metal music. Were my first metal concert. Were very important for me as a teenager and companioned me all the years after - not every single day like in my teenage years but from time to time, has always been a joy.
His death made me realize again how important COB has been for my life even if I prefered other bands the past 10 years. The message that the band splitted hit me, but I was glad to hear that alexi was continuing so that I would be able to enjoy his compositions further. The message of his death hit me harder than I could have imagined before... His music will be an important part of the rest of my life, I will always be sad that he had to leave so young. Hope he found peace in his life that carried him to its end

Saw him 2 years ago with my gf, she was stunned when she found out that hes not even 40....he was not looking good. He needs to tour America more and get on a steady cheeseburger diet.

I thought that too. Difference is if you write the riff and vocal together from pre demo stage, the two become muscle memory together...unlike trying to do a sixpounder cover .... Alexi usually sings on the beat and relates to the riff but guys like Mustaine are totally independent.

More in the "Halo of Blood" vein than "I Worship Chaos" which is a good thing. Good riffs especially the one that comes just before the very melodic and nice solo. Very hopeful for this new release!
In this is way better than Halo of Blood. That album was boring. I felt like I Worship Chaos was a step in the right direction.
@@JeremyBarbell I can't agree personally and I recommend you to revisit songs like All Twisted, One Bottle and a Knee Deep, Bodom Blue moon, Damage Beyond Repair. It was a mix of modern COB and Hate Crew Deathroll. IWC has it's moments though, my favorites are All for Nothing and Horns
All for nothing was good, damaged beyond repair had a couple cool parts, but was boring overall to me. I didnt like All Twisted at all, or One Bottle and a Knee deep. Bodom Blue Moon was probably their best song on there. On IWC I love Widdershins, My Bodom, Morrigan, and others, and I just felt the solos and melodies in general were better on IWC personally.
@@JeremyBarbell I'll give it a spin this night to revisit, I remember Widdershins was pretty good. Last real great album is still HCDR and the first 3 are just masterpieces.

I just learned that one of my favourite guitarists, and greatest inspirations died. I learned it from reading these comments. He was a great musician. Seeing Bodom live was one of the best days of my life and I will always remember them.

Heard that COB disbanded last year ever since I hoped they would reunite one day now I just found out it would never happen RIP Alexi 2020 really was the worst year first it was Eddie Van Halen then Alexi.

It is a playthrough video. Usually the guitarists just mimic what they recorded at the studio.
ofc he didn't, i don't remember when he was playing with such accuraccy last time, check out his guitar lessons or live shows, he's not that good as he might seem, but that's not actually a big deal for me since he's a decent composer
if you'd actually look at his fingers you'd see he doesn't miss a note...if you play guitar yourself, you should be able to recognize it without hearing him play it. But I play leagues better when I'm sitting compared to standing...so that may be the key
Alexi is a hell of a guitar player, nt many guitarists now adays play Melody’s like that anymore. No he didn’t play this in one take and the audio was mimicked from the studio recording, rewatch the video and really listen to the Melody’s, it’s two guitar parts and only one guitarist, do the math
