Education is the key to everything!!! Philippine Government offers free education to every Filipino, from Elementary to High School. Also in College, some needs high grades to pass and have that Scholarship. Some can pay less according to their status of living. Clearly these people did not finish that free education given. If they have, I don't think will end up like this.. I can't blame them somehow, coz for them earning money comes first, 2nd is education. However it was late for them to realize that they're wrong. Worst is that they don't realize it at all.. It pains me as a Filipino seeing parents passes the same mindset to their young one's!!! We we're poor all my life also, but my Dad choose to push us to learn and be in school no matter what... Praying for this little one's and their parents!!! Hope they realize that they can still get out of this.. They do have a choice!!!
Don't worry. The Hong Kong democrats will hire them to be their maids, cooks and chauffeurs, so their children can go back home and have a nice hot meal prepared for them after a busy day of protesting their horrible, evil government.

Sad part is the government just ignores that these people existed and needs help. Politicians only recognizes them when it's election time then ignores them again after they have won.

@@alexlun4464 exactly right. I'm Filipino and majority of our employees come from such a poor state and so we try to educate them and help them earn money by being responsible working adults. It's not a big brain shop we run. I can tell you 80% OF THE PEOPLE we hire are VERY irresponsible teenager parents and when you tell them off (drinking, how to spend money) they either quit or stop coming to work (without even telling us). People seem to forget that it's the people itself who has the problem. The government also offers free money to those who have no jobs every month (especially those enrolled in the indigenous program). One time, one of the parents' employees said, "it's okay if you don't have work, we get free money from the government". We don't want to generalize ALL but just letting you guys know that MAJORITY of people think like that.

I want to thank my parents when I was born with food, shelter and house. My life is super happy and I feel so bad for other Filipino's are poor who have no houses and food.

Lets work such hard and smart to earn millions and billions, and after getting rich rather than filling our pockets which most of today's Billionaire do, we will help these to food and help to improve their talents to make them selfpowered ... The government probably gave them 6,000 php during the first lock down and another 6,000 php for a total of 12k php. Aside from that many people are helping them and giving them relief goods. Many vlooggers in the country are doing it but I didn't know if all of them received it. Another thing is the corruption, there are cases where they didn't recive their money because of the corrupt and heartless oficcials.
Some people misunderstood this comment. The person is not shaming the job of domestic helpers but clearly stating that life has more to offer than to stay to a job with a bare minimum.

idea: let customers divide their food before eating it into containers and deliver it directly to shelters, orphanages, or churches for distribution. no waste, no digging, and some dignity!
@@yzadan3543 like I said, ask customers up front if they'd like to donate. if they say yes once you get a truck full you'd have an employee deliver the food to either a church or facility to distribute to the poor. you rotate so everyone gets a chance and no one gets targeted.

It has changed but of course its a process those days where alot of people eat pagpag but nowadays its pretty rare these people are usually on big cities like manila or cebu but on rural area i dont know cause most people on rural areas grow their own food live stock and plants
To my fellow Filipino people, we all know our government isn't enough to help us. So we must help ourselves like family. There are a number of foundations who aid in hunger but because it's a national issue, it's never enough. There are many factors that could prevent this and avoid spreading diseases but it's all on paper with no action or little. This is sad but we send our prayers to you all.
More than that, the people have to gain political power and become the ones that can make meaningful policies. Stop letting the trashbag politicians get away with not helping.

I dispice being Filipino. Not because of the race. But because of the government and its system. There are many times I fantasise of having superhuman powers, like the ones we see in super hero movies, And the first thing I would do is to obliterate ALL THE POLITICIANS. Having family in the Philippines and knowing some of my relatives live in situations like this just breaks my heart. Makes you appreciate what we have. Every year we send my relatives boxes of old clothes/electronics/household items we don’t need to help them out. Only after visiting them in 2019 did I realize the impact it had on them. Everything has a purpose and nothing goes to waste. Meanwhile, working in the tourism industry here I see countless pounds of food to go waste daily. Appreciate what you have, and never take anything for granted.

The disgusting part of this is: The restaurants don´t just give out leftovers. They don´t allow to dumpster dive. This is mostly days old food from landfillls. Imagine the smell of it.
As a filipino, this is actually rarely seen in live tv, mostly I only see these kind of videos on the Internet, not on the news, tv shows, etc. I am really grateful that we’re an average family, but at the same time felt really bad for the people below the poverty line. Especially on the pandemic.

The sad part is that there are generally ways of putting this kind of food waste to use that are both safe and profitable. For example, over 90% of Las Vegas buffets in the US truck their food waste out to pork farms where it's sorted and the majority used as pig feed. I don't see why the Philippines couldn't try something similar and even pay restaurants to participate, especially with how much of a staple pork is there.

It's their own fault. Most of them are immigrants from villages that comes to city looking for jobs and live in illegal slumbs during young age. When they grow older they simply can't not work any more and are forced to live like that. They could have stayed in village grow crops and live a better life but they decided to take the easy way and suffer later in life. I have no mercy for such people

If they can earn thier own food and live a happy life then why these people can't. Truth is most of them come at young age from villages and are thus able to work hard, live with bare minimum in a city and earn a living. When they grow older they simply can't work hard and get replaced by new young people coming from villages. As they never learned how to farm in thier youth so they are not able to go back home. People like these are responsible for slumb, grown rate of crimes and poverty. They bring these problem to themselves and want others to sympathize for them.

Looking back on my life now, I’m extremely grateful for what I have. I have access to education, clean water, a roof over my head, and of course, safe food to eat. So many people like them in impoverished countries have to fight for survival even if it means eating leftovers from trash cans. I just hope these beautiful souls get what they need to live a long and happy life 💔
Sadly no matter how rich are you, you can't help *ALL* poor people, there are about 600 mil starving people and average cheap lunch is about 1 dollars so you need to spent 600 million dollars 3 times every day. Which is about 1.8billion a day.

That's not a bigger question. It's a human right to have children. Children bring happiness. Now, if you restrict them to have a child, how cruel you are taking away the only source of happiness of them! That's not the issue here. We have all the resources to make every soul live a decent life. The problem is more than 90% of world's wealth goes to only 1% of the population, while the rest 99% are fighting for a mere 10% or even less.

I am a huge critic of the president but that doesnt mean i havent done my part. I have been volunteering and working for the poor since i was a freshman in college. It's been more than a decade since then. Even though i have private practice as a physician right now i still have the privilege to oversee health of certain barangays in Manila which i visit weekly.
Not to sound rude but as a foreigner i Almost always observe half eaten chicken or fish or any meals when i have been to PHP Mcd ,inasal and ppl just leave them like that...that so much waste of food....it is everyone's duty on this planet to not waste food...the disturbing thing is this has been going on for a long time..

I'm a waitress and whenever I go to clean my tables I really hate to collect those big plates of unfinished food and scrape them in the trash. well, on a bright note my restaurant doesnt mind serving any homeless people free meals. we have fed many struggling people that's wandered into our restaurant. I also lay some leftovers for the strays when I see then outside. I have already adopted a cat and a dog that I've fed

To my fellow Filipino people, we all know our government isn't enough to help us. So we must help ourselves like family. There are a number of foundations who aid in hunger but because it's a national issue, it's never enough. There are many factors that could prevent this and avoid spreading diseases but it's all on paper with no action or little. This is sad but we send our prayers to you all.
More than that, the people have to gain political power and become the ones that can make meaningful policies. Stop letting the trashbag politicians get away with not helping.

- Minimum wage
- Food assistance (SNAP)
- Public or subsidized housing
- Unemployment benefits
- Public K-12 education
- Progressive income tax system
- myriad of other welfare programs for low income earners
You can also expect student loan forgiveness in the future under the Biden administration. So I don't really get this argument, legislation seems to be one of the most effective ways at dealing with poverty

Having family in the Philippines and knowing some of my relatives live in situations like this just breaks my heart. Makes you appreciate what we have. Every year we send my relatives boxes of old clothes/electronics/household items we don’t need to help them out.
Only after visiting them in 2019 did I realize the impact it had on them. Everything has a purpose and nothing goes to waste. Meanwhile, working in the tourism industry here I see countless pounds of food to go waste daily.

I watch videos like this whenever I feel dissatisfied with my life. Being able to eat whatever I want is truly a blessing itself.

The disgusting part of this is: The restaurants don´t just give out leftovers. They don´t allow to dumpster dive. This is mostly days old food from landfillls. Imagine the smell of it.

The sad part is that there are generally ways of putting this kind of food waste to use that are both safe and profitable. For example, over 90% of Las Vegas buffets in the US truck their food waste out to pork farms where it's sorted and the majority used as pig feed. I don't see why the Philippines couldn't try something similar and even pay restaurants to participate, especially with how much of a staple pork is there.

It's their own fault. Most of them are immigrants from villages that comes to city looking for jobs and live in illegal slumbs during young age.
When they grow older they simply can't not work any more and are forced to live like that.

Truth is most of them come at young age from villages and are thus able to work hard, live with bare minimum in a city and earn a living.
When they grow older they simply can't work hard and get replaced by new young people coming from villages.
As they never learned how to farm in thier youth so they are not able to go back home.

Domestic helper is way different from being a maid domestic helpers usually takes care of PWD while maids usually do cleaning of houses

Looking back on my life now, I’m extremely grateful for what I have. I have access to education, clean water, a roof over my head, and of course, safe food to eat. well its true all about what you said, but lies beneath on what you have said, comes a lil bit of hope. I am a huge critic of the president but that doesnt mean i havent done my part. I have been volunteering and working for the poor since i was a freshman in college. It's been more than a decade since then. Even though i have private practice as a physician right now i still have the privilege to oversee health of certain barangays in Manila which i visit weekly.

I'm a waitress and whenever I go to clean my tables I really hate to collect those big plates of unfinished food and scrape them in the trash. well, on a bright note my restaurant doesnt mind serving any homeless people free meals. we have fed many struggling people that's wandered into our restaurant. I also lay some leftovers for the strays when I see then outside. I have already adopted a cat and a dog that I've fed
