Folks this cake is super delicious I have made it many times.. And I must say MS looks like she had a lot of fun in that costume. Fun to see her looking goth!
Martha looked amazing and every thing there on her set was in character and she still cooked perfectly. Martha really is the queen of everything about the home!
Recipe is delicious. Do not over bake and it will remain very moist. Also, this cake is BEST eaten the day after, after being chilled then brought to room temperature.

She seems like she's a perfectionist. Not saying it's a bad thing but that's the impression I'm getting. Little confession, my father's last name is Stewart wanted to name me Martha after his mother. I was going to be named Martha Stewart y'all! Thank God for the nurse named Michelle who helped deliver me. It would've been endless jokes

3 sticks butter
2 1/4 sugar
(Melted over double boiler)
4 eggs
1Tbs +1tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cup cocoa
1 1/4 cup hot water
3 cups flour sifted
1tsp baking powder
1tsp baking soda
1 1/4 tsp salt
1cup sour cream
Frosting:
1cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup powder sugar
6Tbs coco
6Tbs room temp water
1 pound semi sweet chocolate
Let frosting stand before using.
350F 45min to 50min
Never had Devil's cake but i'm sure to try this recipe. And Martha looks awesome. If it wasn't for her voice i never would have recognised her.

You don't need to cut the top of the cake off. Just flip the top layer over and then you'll have a nice square edge on top.
