  • If the hose on the powered head unit of your Shark Rocket vacuum is cracked or busted, then replace it. Watch and see the process.
EDIT: One viewer mentioned using silicone spray instead of the petroleum-based Vaseline for use on plastics, so you may want to take that into consideration with your repair.

Thanks for this video. It's always so much better to see repairs on video, rather than reading from a manual! It made my repair so much easier!
I probably wouldn't have been able to do it correctly without your help!
On a side note: One thing that i noticed on Amazon is that most of the replacement hoses say they are 1 1/2 inches in diameter and that they will fit this model. When in fact the hoses should be 1 1/4 inches for them to fit properly. Almost all of the 1 star or negative reviews are about the hoses not fitting, peoples' frustrations, hoses returned, etc.
    Buyers beware!

Thank you for the video. After disassembly I couldn't figure out how to remove the hose until I watched this. I used baby oil as the lube which also worked fine.

Even with the vaseline it was a pain in the neck to get that hose in there, but thank you for the video, I was able to get mine replaced in under 10 minutes, and I suck at stuff like this, although the one I have only needed a philips head, no torx bits.

The one thing I got wrong was the alignment of the hose in the head. Fixed it by making sure it was aligned by putting the brush cover on before putting all the screws back into the assembly.

This is a great video, I was able to fix my shark in about 20 mins. I ended up using plumber grease versus Vaseline. mainly because I had it on hand. The only issue I had was properly aligning the small end of the fitting with the seal. The first time I did not seat it properly and couldn't put the roller cover back on. Once I figured out my mistake it was fine.

This is probably one of the MOST helpful video's I've watched yet! It took me awhile to replace the hose but your instructions were perfect. The only thing I would say you should include is, the notch on the hose housing that fits into the base, needs to be lined up with the small compartment on the base. Or maybe it was just me not getting it. I had the top screwed back on when I realized I didn't have the hose housing lined up and the bottom cover wouldn't go on because the hose was turned just a bit so it kept the bottom plate from fitting flush. My husband kept telling me he could fix it but I was determined and it paid off! Thank you again!😅

Great! Glad it helped and yes that can be a sticky point trying to get that back in right. That is a great point to mention and I hate failed to mention it in the video. Thanks for watching.

Idk if u will even see my comment but I'm crossing my fingers u do. I have taken all of the screws out - I had seven philips head screws and three that took a T15 bit. I have pulled and pulled and I was able to get the top of the two pieces apart (where the wand attaches), but for the life of me, I cannot pry the top and bottom piece apart! Idk what else to do! All screws are out but the two pieces cannot be pried apart like where the brush roller is. Any suggestions? I would even compensate u if u did a video call with me! LOL I'm just at a total loss. And I don't want to break anything by pulling too hard. I already cracked a little piece in half where the belt is because I stuck a screwdriver in there!

Why can't they make all the screws the same. They just expect everyone to have the different type laying around I assume.

@@CmdrTigerKing Because its an 8 dollar vacuum hose, its not a fuel line for a fighter jet, it'll be fine, that replacement hose will get cracks in it and have to be replaced again in a year or two anyway. They just don't last especially if you have 4 walking feline hairballs walking around the house like I do so I have to vacuum sometimes twice a day.

lol he doesnt know about Da Vinci Resolve
Vaseline you do know is petroleum based. That's a no-go on plastics... Silicone spray.. cmon

    • @bradchastain2456
      @bradchastain2456  Год назад

No I didn’t know about Da Vinci Resolve until now. Just looked it up. I don’t do a lot of videos but the good thing about RUclips is you can change the playback speed. Probably helps on most of my country accent videos anyways.
I never took chemistry and I’ll keep that in mind for the future. Thank you for your knowledge and contribution to help others making their repairs. If I can figure out how to add this comment about silicone spray on the video I’ll put a note by it.
So far all the ones at the church that I have repair for our crew like this have done fine. They may wear them out before the Vaseline does anything.

If I remember right there are 10 screws that should be removed. Double check that you have all removed. The one in the “valley” is the easiest one to overlook. It should just pop off after all screws are out.
