I've completed the 10-week Presence Process, and I'm about to do it for the second time. It is great and extremely helpful, and synced up nicely with the Internal Family Systems work I have been doing for about 3 years. However, I find the way Brown presents this method a bit dogmatic, perhaps in his attempt to keep people who have never tried anything like this before from going astray. So, I've made adjustments to my practice as I go along, to make it more effective for me personally. The prohibition on cannabis and alcohol for the duration of the process was not relevant to my experience, and my results have been quite good, which is why I'm going to do it several more times.
Wisdom very well received. Thank you for this video. Honestly, I feel like it may be one of the most important pieces of life advise I've ever received.
Ohh i need this so much again now.. did the first 10 weeks from february to april and i never felt so calm and happy in my life after the proces, but i feel now that i want to do it all over again for the second time🙏 Very curious how this will go❤ Michael thank you for your work and beeing, this is just beautiful!

Your message that you can't heal others until you heal yourself is no doubt true but is there not a continuum ? Is this point addressed in your thoughts about the nature of experiencing emotional impressions and sharing them after you have experienced them ?
Hi Robin, I agree with you that there’s a continuum, rather than a strict either/or situation. From my understanding of and experience with Michael’s work, especially through The Presence Process, suggests that while we cannot fully heal others without addressing our own unresolved emotional patterns, our personal healing journey is deeply interconnected with others. When we engage with our own emotional impressions and heal them, we can become more attuned to the experiences of those around us. Sharing our own processed emotions, rather than reacting from a wounded place, creates a space where others can reflect on and process their own emotions too. So, while you might not 'heal' someone directly, your healed presence can inspire or support others in their healing process. It’s like a ripple effect… the more grounded and present you become in your own journey, the more naturally you can help others on theirs. In this way, it does seem like a continuum, where self-healing and supporting others are part of the same process, evolving together as we grow.
for me, it's about finding a dynamic balance. Using resources like trees for shelter is necessary, but the impact depends on how mindful we are. If we can listen to the needs of the environment-just as we listen to ourselves and each other-and act with care, we can create a sustainable cycle that honors both our needs and nature’s ability to recover. When we lose that awareness, we kind of "disconnect" from life. I believe that being alive is in itself an art... which brings me to this phrase that I love: “The artist is not a special kind of person rather each person is a special kind of artist” -Ananda Coomaraswamy
It's about intention. If we took only what we needed in order to survive, we may be able to leave in harmony with nature, but when we start exploiting the planet (including animals and other people) out of greed or hatred, that's when things start to go wrong.
This aligns perfectly with what I am learning from Genevieve Rudolph. The only thing I am wondering about is LGBQIA community being left out. My take is that both those energies M/ F exist in one body.
Thank you @bethcooper7953 I resonate with what you say... I like to perceive the different expressions of life as Ying Yang, as energy in motion. And the art for me is that everyone can recognize and express their uniqueness validating the diversity of the rest of expressions. @catharinamariatheresia1626 it takes male and female to create a life. Thats just how the world is.. the author is just describing the natural forces here, not necessarily prescribing.
@@zulubeatsprinceBut he is assigning the male to be the mental body and the female to be the emotional body during sexual intimacy. Every human being has a mental and an emotional body, so why can it according to Michael it seems only be this one way? Why can't the male be the emotional body and the female the mental body during sexual intimacy in some cases? Wouldn't it depend on their specific relationship and therefore differ from case to case? The existence of the LGBTQ+ community proves that gender and sexuality would have to be approached with more nuance than Michael is doing here in this video. Michael also suggests that a woman is the emotional body and a man is the mental body. With that definition a male could be a woman (emotional body) and a female a man (mental body) during sexual intimacy in my view.

Can a male take on the role of the emotional body and the female the role of the mental body during an intimate sexual experience? I feel like being the emotional body during an intimate sexual experience would feel more natural to me as a male. Michael seems to use "woman" as synonymous to the emotional body and "man" as synonymous to the mental body. In that sense I would be the "woman" as a male and my partner the "man" as a female. Michael doesn't make that distinction though that is he uses female, woman and emotional body synonymously as well as male, man and mental body. So I think it would have been more inclusive and in fact more accurate if Michael was a bit less conservative in his perception of gender and sexuality and acknowledged the complexity of them through a more nuanced approach.
Thank you for sharing your perspective. I completely understand what you're saying about the fluidity between the emotional and mental bodies, and I agree-these energies aren’t tied to gender. As you mentioned, Michael often uses "feminine" and "masculine" to describe these energies, but they’re more about archetypal qualities that everyone carries, rather than fixed gender roles. It’s totally natural for anyone, regardless of gender identity-whether male, female, non-binary, or part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community-to connect more with the emotional or mental body in different moments. What’s most important is being present with how these energies show up in each unique connection. I really appreciate you bringing up this point-it opens the door to even more inclusivity and nuance in how we explore these experiences.
@@unevisualfilms Exactly. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I would just add that biological sex (male / female) certainly plays a role in shaping our gender identity and therefore affects our tendency to either assume the emotional or mental body during sexual intimacy with someone else but it's not nearly as decisive as Michael implies in my view. Certainly my own experience doesn't support it. And as you said gender identity itself is to some extent context dependent and varies from relationship to relationship, from circumstance to circumstance and from one period in our lives to the next so that depending on these factors we might identify / connect more with the emotional or the mental body at any given moment. Everybody regardless of biological sex and even gender identity has an emotional and a mental body within themselves after all or in other words always carries both "feminine" and "masculine" forms of energy. It's just that in some people femininity is clearly primary whereas in others masculinity is primary and yet others are more in the middle (androgyneous).
Why make it so confusing. Emotions just like the weather they are and they come and go. Just watch them and then let them pass. Convoluted attempts to put emotions into some sort of system only mess people up in the head. Don't judge yourself for feeling feelings they are as natural as the air you breath. It is okay to feel whatever your feeling don't make to big of a deal about it.
You are missing a very big point: many of us were raised to not cry. I can remember as my father was spanking me, he would say, "You better stop crying, or I'll give you something to cry about!" This feeling follows me in my adulthood. I'm literally learning how to feel my feelings at 55 years of age instead of bottling them up.
