Cool car this one.. my friend owned it in Gisborne many years ago.. I remember the tight gearbox when drove it.. many fun times had for sure. Cool to still see it being enjoyed
My 88 has a very tired engine. Pulling this weekend. Going to bridgeport it and have the rotors lightened. Only looking for around 200hp. I drive mine for enjoyment, I don't race in any way. Also I love that color. I did mine in 46V. The walk around will be posted on my buddies channel sometime today.
Looks awesome! I’m looking at replacing my wheels. I’m worried about fitment. What diameter, width, and offset are those RFP1’s and are you happy with how they fit in terms of clearance? Thanks!!
Been waiting a while for FC footage. Happy it's all back together! Regarding the cooling problem, maybe verify that the base timing is correct with a stock crank pulley. I've had mine out (retarded) and caused similar cooling issues.
Gflex187 think its his radiator thats blocked is sweet at idle and around town but once it is loaded up on highway temp goes up so its not getting enough cool air through it new radiator and bottom hose with spring and shroud should be ok and a tune.
Thanks mate good to know the FCs have a following. Yeah what Ben said. Cools down nicely at lower rpm, the radiator/intercool/oil coolers are all pretty crappy and old too.
great to see the series 4 back on the road, looks like it had radiator stop leak crap in it for the water seal issue, the red crap, make sure you flush the radiator good, also the interior heater/radiator, i always get the oil cooler/s flushed, cleaned, tested too, no point putting filings etc into the new rebuilt engine etc, did you fit FD front & rear stationary gears and bearings ? cant believe your finding it hard to get someone to tune the microtech :( Q - - what dissolver spray did you use on tints ? have to my rear window on the S6 :(
I’ll have to check the invoice breakdown for that to be honest haha. The spray is called “dissolve-it” but there are better ways - search up black bag tint removal. That’s what I’m trying next
@@GarageRacers re tints, cool, thanks, not looking forward to it, thinking might take the rear window off and put upside down on stands :) that sounds like more work though lol
PhantomXR haven’t had it long but it’s a mint upgrade from a much smaller toolbox! Good solid top and the drawers roll out nice. They’re a good investment.
love the car it looks great, if you don't mind me asking, what are the sizes of the rims. Im looking for some rpf1's for my fc but i just need the measurements. thank you
Did you ever sort out your cooling issue? I had a similar one in my batty and it turned out that the radiator was trapping air in it. Seeing as how it had a remote Filler cap that wasn’t part of the top tank the air wouldn’t travel down again to get to the high point. Dropped amd tapped a brass fitting into the top hose connection and ran that to an air recirculating tank and it never had another issue .
Thanks for the info, that's handy to know. I went down a rabbit hole with the FC - still buying parts for it. Hope the cooling is well and truely sorted after haha.
Unfortunately when i bought the car the engine was probably already on it's way out. I'll be keeping tabs on the k's with the new engine that's for sure!
@@biggj6187 That would be nice and don't see why not, but i think i won't realistically do that many k's on this version of the engine, i'll probably look to freshen it up after a couple years regardless of the k's
By far my favorite car of the late 80’s. The FD is also nice but nostalgia has me loving the FC even more.

More to come too, i get a few people who remember it from it's past life.
beautiful restoration. personally i would've gone with the r32 wheels and put some s4 taillights on but this is still 10/10
Very nice...good job guys...Saludos desde Michigan....💪👍Rotary
Beautiful mate!! So happy for ya, the motor sounds mint nice lumpy idle :)

Good on you man I have a such a desire to build a rotary but I’m not mechanical at all. I envy you guys a little bit.
You still potentially looking for something?
Nice work & super car👍👍
Thank you 👍

Awesome
Mazin at M&M racing i'm sure will tune microtech. STu LAwton down in Paraparaumu as well. Dynotune tuned mine in tauranga a couple years ago.
Thanks for that, i had Stu in mind as he's not far from me/us - but have settled for a link now ;)
Beautiful sev, best shape imo
Bloody stoked
Ohh fek, I have a Microtech Lt10s which old AF. I might have trouble getting a tuner in AUS lol
Haha good luck
is it me, or is that accessory belt very thick? Is there a reason for that?
What are the specs on your rpf1s?

rotor_dude NZ haha wouldn’t go that far with it
what you think of that mechpro tool box in the background thinking of picking one up for myself.

Thanks mate, they're 17x9 +35 with a 5mm spacer to clear suspension front and 17x9 +22 rear.
@@GarageRacers thank you very much!
Not sure where your located but M&M racing in Auckland still tunes microtech
Thanks man, I’m in Wellington.
great build man, what are the specs on these wheels tho? cause i want to fit rpf1s on my fc too
They’re 17x9 +22 (R) and +35 (F), 5mm slipon spacer at the front

Nice fc 👌 are you from the wairarapa?
Cheers. Yip but get around the larger Welly region quite a bit.
Do you like the Gilmer noise mate? I'm about to put a kit on for my build
I loosened it up to quieten it down a little - was cool at first but personally think it’s best on NA cars
@@GarageRacers Noticed that in the video. I just love the aesthetics of it in the engine bay. I'll just run in loose and should be fine?
Exhaust set up?
How many kms did you get before you had to rebuild ?

BIGg J It will mostly be a weekend and event car, so won’t be driven all that often - but hey I could be wrong and end up using it a lot
