Just wanted to say how awesome Mike's job is, and how I'm just a little jealous. He really hit the jackpot, going from struggling to find engineering work to getting to do such an awesome job with cars. It's really easy to be happy for a guy that lands a gig like that when he takes it and just kills it the way Mike has been doing.
With regards to the initial disappointing dyno results, you should check the slack on the throttle cable. Over time they stretch and the result is that when you floor it, you’re only getting like 80 or 70% of throttle instead of 100% at WOT. Which would explain the 90 escaped horses.
You are GENIUS, Guys !!!! Swapping from automatic to manual gear box and you spore 70 BHP. The brand new exhaust is awesome. At the end this car will be a master piece and it will be unique. Congratulations !!!!!
I've known I wanted a Jaaag since I was a kid. And now, while apparently all the British RUclipsrs have already bought one, I desperately need mine. But I'm in Poland so finding and servicing one would be a real nightmare. But I still want it
Greetings from Canada friend! Jag owner here. They aren’t as bad as you think. But you will need to spend a few bucks on a well sorted one. One that’s been cared for properly. But if you do that, then it’s really not scary at all. Love my XJ and it’s a fantastic drive. No one does it quite like Jaguar.
Not the biggest fan of Jaguars, but this project is pretty interesting. That exhaust system looks sick. Looks like it has an x-pipe. Might give it a little raspy, race car sound to it. Can't wait to hear what it sounds like very soon.
Mike, here's a plan, you could fix your interior by replacing the dash with one from a right hand drive donor car! Of course you'd have to move the steering wheel across to make it fit, but you're going to do that anyway, right? ;)
Can't wait to see and hear this beast on the road again! 😍 Couldn't give you a thumbs-up for this one though - because you said, you'd prefer the X150 over the X100... what a sacrilege!!! ...ok, just kiddin' 😉 to me it's definitely the other way round, but both are wonderful Jaaags! Really enjoying your videos!
Hi Mike!!! Keep up the great work. Wish you were on our screens before youtube but glad you’re here! Question……when you and Hammond and Alex get your jags together, can you ask Harry to bring his from Harry’s Garage……remind him to bring his fire extinguisher 😂
So cool, I reckon you should slap a japan and USA sticker somewhere small on the car to show its heritage, or perhaps a cherry blossom air freshener haha
I am not really a Jag fan, but have nothing against them and i might consider buying one someday. I have always liked the XKR-S and the E-Type S1 convertible.
I pass Swallows every week on my way to work which is just up the road from them. My car is definitely dying so maybe I should pay them a visit for a new (old)Jaaaaaaag
I love Jags, but I prefer the E-types, the XJ6 coupe and Daimler version(used to clean a Daimler V12 coupe in dark blue, black vinyl roof). Or the XJ40 Jankel coupès and MKII Jag in darkest anthracite metallic or Jag BRG stainless Steel wire wheels, Coombs rear arches, lowered 2 inches, conolly leather interior perforated seats, 5 spd ZF gearbox, stealth sound system, full length Webasto sunroof, tinted lexan sun shades, and sunroof deflector. Moto-Lita steering wheel, dark wood veneers, or aroka wood veneer, seat belts matched to the leather colour, polished seat belt accessories. Now that's a dream Jag if ever, oh and a D-type tuned large valve head engine, or put in a f-type supercharged engine....mmmmmmmm
Once bitten twice shy. I had an xj6 that bled me dry, and would not stop demanding my wrench time. Sold it at a massive loss because it was killing me.
Are you guys swapping out the wheels in the next episode? Those are XK8 wheels currently on it, and certainly not the most tasty ones available. At the time, BBS made a number of nice wheels compatible with the X100, most notably the Detroit, Milan, and Montreal; I have a set of "oyster"-finished Milans on my XKR coupe and it looks the business.
I enjoy this channel. It's fun seeing what's going on. I miss the old Top Gear with the 3 best presenters though. I miss seeing new cars, I miss seeing what idiotic car one of them would pick for an episode, I miss seeing the guys doing the news, I miss Ben aka the Stig basically I miss the old days I guess. The grand tour started out similar, but now with one episode a year and no fun cars really and more importantly no banter like the news etc. there is a big piece missing. I suppose the 3 fellas enjoy being home more with their families...
Jonathan Palmer...a name I haven't heard for years, he used to work with my mum at Brighton General when he was junior doctor, she was furious with him when he chose racing over being a doctor.
Been awhile since Clarkson's been on one of these, hope he's alright, it's hard when google turns on you and curates against you, I hope one day google loses its Monopoly
The production value on these videos these days is top notch. Well done. I hope the other two monkeys appreciate how much Hammond and Mike keep all this going
Funny thing, my father had two Jaguars ((2015 FX, 2015 XJ)first the XF then the XJ) back to back for a few years. And the day that the show started he crashed the front end of the XJ 😅
I was wondering that. Is it perhaps the Japanese interpretation of XKR? Never seen it before though and I've looked at a few imports with a view to buying.
Some parts are cheaper, but some are expensive so don't break them - a tradeoff for your imports. Must get it simulated, but getting it rendered breaking is not a simple task, especially true for dragonriding. Sean Boswell tries to learn with bicycle protections. Fuel consumption matters, nice to have a switch to put mufflers on click. Let's put C2 Hercules into it's place, if you wish to banish John Deere - to get them make a pact with government, because your are high tech student. Racers having livery, but it's a bit different, not telling everybody configuration. Still hard to know if it fits your model.

Seeing all of Swallows' project cars just outside in the rain is always a bit painful.
Yeah, bit strange to hoard 3/10 rare vehicles and then leave them to rot outside 😐
Agreed, so many beautiful classics and rare cars 😥
Yeah. Wish they cared for them a bit more.

The sound of the exhaustless Palmer racer is exhilaratingly wonderful. Projects Jaaaaag is, hands down, the best series Drivetribe has done.
Can’t wait to see the next stage of the XKR. Stop teasing us and please let us have it!!!

I finally got to watch them work on the car instead of seeing a sponsorship episode with with some work peppered through out
The exhaust sound was hilarious 😂 “aghhhhhh”
You are GENIUS, Guys !!!! Swapping from automatic to manual gear box and you spore 70 BHP. The brand new exhaust is awesome. At the end this car will be a master piece and it will be unique. Congratulations !!!!!
Following these 2 Jags jags is the best DriveTribe content I've seen so far.
Well done.
This Scotch is a great host.
Wasn’t as many adverts 😁
Top Tip for ads at the START of a video - just hit the 'BACK' then 'FWD' tabs & it starts straight away ad free. 👍
Or just watch on RUclips revanced if on android, or Brave browser on desktop
I think he means in video sponsor ads.
@@callumboothroyd3766 RUclips vanced allows you to skip them automatically
They are learning..
Swallow's really needs an out-building to prevent these cars from rotting way in the weather!
From the look of seeing their breaths in the shop, it looks like even heat is a lot to ask for. Hopefully for them I'm wrong.
I've known I wanted a Jaaag since I was a kid. And now, while apparently all the British RUclipsrs have already bought one, I desperately need mine. But I'm in Poland so finding and servicing one would be a real nightmare. But I still want it

I.. wasn't sure how Mike was gonna test the exhaust pipes but I should've expected what he was going to do
Love this series! Feels like it gets even better with every episode!
Those TIG welds were the work of an artist. I never could master it, MIG and OXY were as far as I got. Stick on the heavy stuff.
Mike, here's a plan, you could fix your interior by replacing the dash with one from a right hand drive donor car! Of course you'd have to move the steering wheel across to make it fit, but you're going to do that anyway, right? ;)
Interesting project, it's amazing how nice you can make a car with an unlimited budget.
Harry's XJC makes the others look like sheds. Great idea though!
Love these videos. Keep up the phenomenal works boys and girls ❤
My dad owns a xjs and has been to swallows many times I have video footage of pretty much every car you see. The place is awsome
I’ve always wanted a late 70’s-80’a XJ12. Such a cool looking car and who wouldn’t want a V-12?
So cool, I reckon you should slap a japan and USA sticker somewhere small on the car to show its heritage, or perhaps a cherry blossom air freshener haha
Love this series!
I am not really a Jag fan, but have nothing against them and i might consider buying one someday. I have always liked the XKR-S and the E-Type S1 convertible.
Those welds look phenomenal!
Nice to see you fitted the exhaust clamps correctly this time lol. HNY to you all 🥳
I allready own an xkr150 with the 4.2 supercharged enjoyed the series!!
I would have done a thorough cleaning and a protective coating on the underside while having the subframes and exhaust down...
This car really warrants being converted to right hand drive and some rustproofing to keep it in the condition it is underneath
Has this series ever got me thinking about getting a jaaaag? No, because I've wanted a Mk 10 for ages.
I don't want a Jag....I want to get my old Series III XJ back on the road! Really enjoying watching this series. :-)
Great videos, thanks. Why does your XKR have KXR badging on the back though, has somplayed around with the order of the lettering?
I can certainly identify with being a welder who wants to improve his skills, absolutely stunning work on them exhausts💖👏
I pass Swallows every week on my way to work which is just up the road from them. My car is definitely dying so maybe I should pay them a visit for a new (old)Jaaaaaaag

What I dont get is how like 5 or 6 channels now are all doing Jaaaaag content all at the same time, I dont mind, I like it, but kinda funny! :D
The B roll 1:13 was perfect!
I have just bought 2 Jags. I am restoring both.
Using the post lift while under the car really upped the pucker factor for me, especially coming down.
Newly installed exhaust sound @13:44
Once bitten twice shy. I had an xj6 that bled me dry, and would not stop demanding my wrench time. Sold it at a massive loss because it was killing me.
You've blown it up haven't you!
For my money, Sepang are the best looking ones.
will there be a breakdown of the costs at the end?
Loving this series. Do we know when the final episode lands?
I've been dreaming of a 2015 XKRS since I saw one in a photo. Too bad I'm in Canada, and such a thing is not as common as in the uk
Any news on project Jag? Waiting to see the finished product.

I wish my x type 2.2d would magically turn into a v8 :D
Be nice to see Dale from Meguiars UK give it a once over as a day in the bay
Really need to go with black for the rooflining looks so much beter
Yes definitely am thinking about
Such a nice project to watch 👌
why did you not clean and treat the underside, before refitting subframe and exhaust; quite a bit of rust ?
That racecar jag sounds like it's ripping souls apart to feed it's very hunger....
I already own two jaguars, 2003 XK8 convertible and a 1998XJ8 Vanden Plas
Genuinely about 30 hp gained with the sports cats and the over axle non squash pipes. And better sound!
You also need a software Tune if you want to use the power from your mods
I would love that Palmer Sport XKR
Jonathan Palmer...a name I haven't heard for years, he used to work with my mum at Brighton General when he was junior doctor, she was furious with him when he chose racing over being a doctor.
"has this series got you thinking about getting a jag of your own?"
Yes and No... But definitely a car from Japan!
I've a XKR convertible and would love to see the costs of these repairs and upgrades
Who did the rebuild of the rear subframe? I would like to consider for my xk8.
Love the xkr but would rip out wood trim for something more modern looking
Haha x pipe test sounded excellent
Won't the poly bushing create rear end noise vs the stock rubber ones ? I have to say I much prefer this Jag over Hammonds boat.
I love drivetribe, I love the content. I have No interest in jags whatsoever:) I’m hoping you will smoke autoalex so I’m staying tuned:)
It's coming along nicely, although a huge amount of time and money is being poured into it. Personal choice if it's worth it.
Been awhile since Clarkson's been on one of these, hope he's alright, it's hard when google turns on you and curates against you, I hope one day google loses its Monopoly

Why does the badge on the rear say KXR and not XKR?
I was wondering that. Is it perhaps the Japanese interpretation of XKR? Never seen it before though and I've looked at a few imports with a view to buying.
I don't know, that Japanese after-market woodwork looks jank AF. I'd drop that in a heartbeat.
Why wasn’t it reassembled with new nuts and bolts ?
It's a LHD Japanese KXR. Dude, you've got Hammond beat in rarity alone. XD
Great video Mike. Thanks.
Why wouldn't the bolts be replaced, rather than reused?
why did we not hear the exhaust??? i swear nothing actually ever happens in these videos
You might have answered this prior, but why do you say XKR when the badging says KXR? Just curious?
I hope you change the KXR back to XKR.
Seeing you videos on the Jaaaaag! Makes me want to start a project car of my own, I just need time and money.
Still no sign of the mighty Jaguar XFR in your videos Mike!
You guys play some "cool" music in your Drivetribe videos Mike, ever think of releasing an album. I'd buy one.
I’ve wanted a jag for years
12.32 Why does the badge say KXR?
Can you do a follow up on Coy’s car auction company that Top Gear and Hammond used for selling cars?
What's with the tub of margarine?
Just sat down with my dinner and unpaused when you blew into the exhaust. Entire house nearly came shaking down.
Alex is going to have you! Hold out yer haaaaaaand!
Love your work 👍
I adore XJS’s

I'm sure you've heard this before but if there is not a jaaag road trip with you, Richard and Alex we will be disappointed.
Hammond will have the sweetest jaaaag
No way Mike did the MightyCaraMods joke of checking if the exhaust is in tune and they use that moaning sound clip 🤣🤣🤣
If you are gutting the interior perhaps convert the car to right hand drive?
And when is the wide body going on it? Splitter? Wing?
