Thanks for having me again boys. Definitely get Sparky on sometime without me since I'm such a yapper lol but really appreciate whenever y'all have me on! Blue lizard gang!
Gotta get TheLorr on! He’s a community favorite! Him, Euthafro, and Y4mi altogether would be a killer episode. Great episode glad to hear Oggie again and see Sparky 🤙🏼
I'm a lizardman myself. Sparky is right about finding a good trio group if you're not a meta sweat. Ppl always say something if I play my blue lizard wizard skin. I've had ppl threaten to leave the group if I used the skin even though my gear was much better. It be that way
Fucking love Oggie episodes, my mans couldnt be more right about weapon scaling for 1 handed vs 2 and 2 handers getting something like the long sword riposte Also when do you guys stream the pod? I feel like i miss it every time lol
I wanted to say that regarding shield builds, you were pointing out that shields don't really give you much advantage even with all the shield perks. I want to point out a big reason for this is the different block resistance between the shields. Unfortunately the only viable shield is the buckler, and this is because you don't get staggered when you block with a buckler, compared to the heater.
Why does everyone hate on the sitting down aspect. I like the act of needing to reset and having portions of time to take advantage of a team that needs to campfire. Nothing feels better then burning through all the heals of a cleric or burning through all fireballs and pushing to kill The no charges or sitting would ruin the game
I've seen a ton of people that play dark and dark often make videos talking about things they want that are already in dungeonborne, always makes me giggle because they sometimes say they dislike that game at the same time but want what it has lol
@@Wolfyowns Clones can offer up cool stuff - I won't deny that! But I have no respect for Dark, Dungeonborne, or whatever that other clone is called (cant remember).
Yeah, I just like how often it comes up. Like in another podcast they went on about wanting things Dungeonborne has added to DaD but I do look forward to see what both games do over time. However I don't see myself playing DaD without multiclass once Dungeonborne is out, DaD is to fast and boring without it imo. Will be nice when it returns in whatever form
True dmg and armorpen has different applications. True damage does not scale off of other stats like power and damage bonus. Armor pen amplifies the damage output vs armored targets. If you have alot of scaling damage and are vs a high armor target, armor pen is really good. If you have alot of true damage you want attack speed and dots that can proc it. Say if you are playing with a halberd or falchion, or longbow/windlass. Some kind of slow heavy hitter, you benefit from armorpen. If you are a high dex rogue or use a survival bow, you want alot of true damage. I don't know if dots proc true damage, but if they do, that would be another great situation to get true damage.
the fact soma knows what's coming while we all wait in anticipation...better be good! I'm expecting Druid, Ruins, New Ice map at the very least. Hopefully a wider release because i think the best improvement would be a higher player base. regardless i am excited. thanks yall. love the pod
Hey Soma have u tried to invite Bonjwa to the podcast? It´s a german channel and Matteo is probably the biggest DaD streamer for a long time now ( 2k-3k viewers on german night hours). Would be interesting so see him in the show.
I'll help shed some light on the differences between Wizard and Sorcerer. Wizard has more utility compared to sorcerer because they have access to a wide library of spells. To balance this, wizards have spell slots because they shouldn't be allowed to do everything and get out of every situation. But when wizards rest, they are able to recover spell charges and swap out their spell loadout so they can better adapt to their situation. Wizards use intelligence as their primary attribute stat when casting spells. Sorcerer has a limited library of spells but they do not have spell slots. They have less total spells compared to a wizard. However, a sorcerer has full access to all their spells any time but the spells must share spell charges for each caster level. For example, casting any level 3 spell will eat 1 charge for all level 3 spells. In addition, sorcerer has the bloodlines feature that you select when creating the character and it works like a skill tree to gain passives, skills, and spells. Sorcerers use charisma as their primary attribute stat when casting spells. For roleplay and lore, a wizard is typically a spellcaster that is taught how to use magic. A sorcerer is a spellcaster that has innate knowledge of magic from their ancestral bloodline heritage. A sorcerer "slowly awakens" as they level up. So which is stronger? A wizard is more suited to do all things depending how they can prepare for the situation coming next. A sorcerer can only do a limited amount of things but they are always ready for it. Spellcasters usually tend to have spell charges. That's just how it is on table top RPGs. I actually hope they make Monk next lmao
I don’t know how “Thunder Wave” isn’t in the wizards arsenal. Thats a D&D classic…. Knock back with a decent damage. They get 3 of them, if someone is blocking with a shield they get knocked back less. If they’re in the air they get knocked back farther. That seems like one of the easiest ways to replace MM as the go-to melee counter on wizard.
It’s cool to think that now you’ve pretty much had every notable longsword user on the podcast. These last few weeks of DaD have been miserable, like you I pretty much played normals all wipe and I want the rewards but I can’t bring myself to sit down for any amount of time to grind for rank in the current state of the game. This game falling off has made me turn to overwatch depressingly enough. Also for random ideas, give rogue a small parrying dagger / sai he can hold in his offhand to block easily predictable swings like barb axes and cleric maxes to give him playstyles other than landmine :)
I think the best way to combat buffs is to make it to where if for example a bard buffed their mates & dies thier team loses the buffs gives more to fights I would think then you'll be like FOCUS BARD then go for barb after take down cleric then go for fighter & on the opposite end you would have to defend them too
they need to get rid of the stupid ass FOMO season rewards. I don't want to have to do the shitty AP grind every 3 months after a wipe or completely miss out. It's so stupid. They should get rid of AP all together.
You know the game's not in a good state where 5 dark and darker streamers get together to talk about it and they all agree it stinks right now and talk about other games.
They don't have the population to have a test server within an early access game. This was like some promise they made to people who bought the game that they didn't think through entirely in their haste to get their store page up. They should get rid of the test server and give us something else instead.
I would love them to remove spells charges and instead have cooldowns before being able to use the same spell. I think it would both fix the sitting down/meditation problem as well as toning down lesser heal spam / fire ball spam etc
There isn't a skill check on other class buffs. I could agree that with a lot of dex you can play them too fast and with a lot of resourcefulness you can have buffs that last an absurd amount of time but if not for AOE buffs the class would be useless essentially. Maybe get rid of the good performance perk would be a more appropriate nerf.
Every other class has a skill check. They're all skill shots. You can't buff someone if you miss the buff. Bard has the easiest skill check out of all of them imo and they're aoe
Sparky is nice if he would drop his whole vtuber thing, i'd rather stare at a black screen. Really good player but can't personally watch him because of that.
i would like to see less spell spam overall. Not a fan of l33t chad dude bros playing this shit like Doom Eternal. Get rid of meditation. Make the campfire the only way to regain SOME spells, make spells more effective when used in limited quantity, and make campfire a limited use ability for the whole team where you can only rest at a campfire once or twice in a game. just like how a short rest works in DND. Rangers regaining a limited amount of arrows from short rests would work the same. Delete Tomahawks and Throwing Knives. Ranged issue solved. The entire success of this game is the dungeons and dragons inspiration. Every move they make that's a departure from the DND formula continues to make this game shittier and shittier.
The real problem with range is just not being able to close the gap for melee fighters. Once they figure that out, hopefully we will see less throwing spam. It's so ridiculous to see people carry so many stacks. It goes against class identity to make all classes have perfect aim with ranged attacks when in the table top, you needed dexterity and skills to increase your ranged accuracy.
test server. IM was told about bugs happening but those bugs made their way to the live game. so, whats the point in test server if they are not going to fix the bugs before pushing the patch to live.
24:14 i play perfect block fighter.. it's very fun to block warmauls and then using counter attack to attack faster then 50% action speed. It's a very niche build but it destroys barb with a solid block. Try it out!
@@_Soma Im not a pro or anything but it's funny to see a barbarian have to have his attack delayed because he couldn't dent through your shield and make you stagger.. then when you pair it with the other perk that gives you 50% action speed you can immediately swing at an insane speed.. This is the window I've found I can actually utilize block and attack some one before they can hit me. I've always really liked the class fantasy in THIS game that a shield is OK but when a fighter uses it it becomes way better. If he specs into it.. I consider this a subclass like you always want. About buffball, I think it would be a nice test to make buff spells concentration-like, so one caster can keep active only one buff on self or ally.
some semblance of a concentration like affect to keep buffs up is actually a cool idea!
