Man my lock came out of the housing when I pulled my key from the key hole. I have electrical issues so I’ve had to manually unlock my car for the longest. Anyway, it took me a while to figure it out after watching this video. I ended up having to do three things: 1. push up on the black latch in front (which was defaulted to the down position) 2. push up the black piece behind it at the same time and 3. Push down on the door handle latch. It opens every time now. THANK YOU
Hey everyone - i was able to unlock the door without taking anything apart. Note - you'll still have to take the door card off to replace the broken actuator but you can at least have the door open while doing it. I just removed the small plastic round trim piece that surrounds the the actual lock knob that goes up when it's unlocked and down when it's locked. Just need a screw driver or pry tool and pried it up till it popped off. After that, just use needle nose pliers to pull up the lock knob and hold it there. While holding it up, click your fob unlock button and then try the handle. If that doesn't work, then click the lock button on your key fob once and pull the handle (all while holding the lock knob up). The latter worked for me several times in a row so it's repeatable and it only took a minute or so to do --- hope that helps

I did a video. neither from the inside or outside would open. I changed two actuators the u that was latched to was in wrong location. reason for failure.
Thanks for this video. I'm working on mine now. How hard did you have to push on that internal black piece? I'm trying and it isn't moving. Does it rotate downward? Also I already purchased a replacement part but it doesn't seem to have the exact mechanism to examine. Any help would be appreciated.

Mine wasn't my backdoor, it was my driver door. Sounds like you just need a new lock actuator. Which is mainly what all these problems are. Easy fix, and pretty cheap price. Sub $100 for the part. I think it was $50 when I bought it for 2 of them. Good luck!
@@ryangray384 how much you think it would be in labor for this. My Indy is getting more expensive then departs now. And always came back with a news something else is broken on my G30. Never had these issues with F10

If it is the EXACT same as me, then yes. There are many videos on RUclips of taking the door off. It's the same, just with it shut...😂🤣. It isn't impossible. I made 4 videos, not great detail, just an over view. I hope they help.
Hey man, tbh, I am not 100% sure, but it should. I have replaced all 4 of my doors. Its all very similar, non-driver is even easier. Just double check your child lock.
Once you remove the door panel and put aside, use a flat blade screwdriver to pry upwards the black tab. It is to the outwards of the offwhite round spinner. Just replaced this on my '06 330i sedan - rear driver side. FYI, make sure to roll up your glass window. You need the space to get your hands to remove the cable and wire loom on the backside of the actuator. A small flashlight will help as well because it's hard to see. Try not to break anything when removing the wire and rear cable.
Omg your video was so funny at the end! But my bmw 535i wind open in or out. So shout I try the fuse first or take the door apart? I will ask my neighbor to do it! I am trying to sell it for 1500 bc there is a module that controls allot of the things that are not working and I just do not want a foreign car to be honest! We got like 5 years ago for my daughter’s first car and we just need it gone but my mechanic to me to at least get 1,500 for it! So that is where I am at and I have so many people wanting to buy it!
Not sure exactly. I would start with checking the fuse of you are not hearing the actuator (lock motor) turning or attempting to turn. Is the lock trying to move up and down at all?

If your driver door is stuck and you can not open it from inside or outside or with just the key, but you can hear your actuator is still working, try while pressing remote for open or close and hearing noise from actuaor turning the key in your door. I managed to open stuck door like that. Hopefully it works for everyone and you can start replacing actuator and removing door panel with your door open.

A door panel removal tool is needed to pry off the plastic wire loom insert. There are two, one on the backside and one directly underneath the main wire harness of the actuator.
Take the metal key out of the fob and open the door that way it worked for me and my door didn't open from the inside or outside until I put the key into the driver door key handle/slot
@@sarahvargas6600 no it won't work for the passenger door sadly because that door doesn't have a key slot .. umm your going to have to check the fuses before you try to pull off the panel which is your last resort and that won't be fun with the door being closed completely
I'm laughing reading this...this is me right now. Like Great jus what I need .. it's goin back n forth between locking me out of it or locking me in the car.
The pushing up like the other video you referenced worked for me. But side note for everyone else, I had child lock on while the door was double locked. So when you do this get someone on the outside to pull the handle

Just like the description says, on how to fix/open a stuck door. There are plenty of tutorials on how to replace a lock actuator. So once you open the door, you have to replace the lock actuator because the mechanism went out. If you shut the door after opening it, you will have the same issue, and have to use a screwdriver again to open it. Good luck!
Thanks for posting, this happened to me and it’s causing my headlights to remain on after the car is turned off... looks like I’ll be ripping my door apart.
UPDATE: I disconnected my battery and reconnected it, remote opened door! Didn’t fix the main issue but my door is open and I just have to remember not to lock until I fix it. Thanks again!

Hey everyone - i was able to unlock the door without taking anything apart. Not too hard. And it is actually pushing UP not down. You should be able to use a screwdriver and press on it.

Sounds like a bad lock actuator. Simply purchase a new one (they usually come in pairs for like $50) and replace it. Pretty easy fix.
