1000% saved my butt with this video, customers 06 325i, got the panel out without damage, cut at the necessary bits in the lock. Didn't have to pull the seat out. Had to dig deeper than the white piece, though not much more. Thanks friend!

Just for everyone to know - the dealer can activate the small motor shown on the video in one of the interfaces that they use through the comfort module. I'm not sure what the purpose of that motor is because the latch and lock can work perfectly without it - the thing doesn't move under normal operation. Maybe it's a failsafe in case something breaks.
My advice for everyone going through the same situation is:
1st, ensure that you don't have stuck cables and/or levers (from the inside and outside handles).
2nd, try the method shown on the video.
3rd, break all of the plastic parts and gears with a big screwdriver and a hammer. Don't rush in order not to damage the door itself. After the whole thing is in pieces, use a smaller screwdriver to slide the pin that holds the latch closed, and there you are: door is open.
@JHAMS thanks for the video, it's the only one I could find showing this method.

Hello, you're saying if I go to the dealership with my driver's door stuck from a malfunctioning actuator they can open it by connecting it to an interface without taking the panel off the door?

@abelucious from what they told me, and looking at the three small electric motors inside the lock assembly, it seems that some cars have provision for that. In my case, we couldn't make it work, so I had to bang everything out - the motors turned when activated, and the lock clicked but didn't unlatch. Wish somebody could investigate further!

Hi, quick question! My door won't open from inside or out. I took the interior trim, removed both inside and outside cable ends from the latch mechanism and tried actuating them by hand with no success - it is still stuck shut. When I try locking or unlocking from the button in the dash the pin goes up and down without a problem, is this still going to get my door open? Reason why I'm asking is because I thought that the gear that you are actuating after removing the electric motor is only for the central locking, and mine seems to still be working because the pin goes up and down, and the door quit opening without me locking the car from the last time I could open the door. Any help would be much appreciated!!

I had the same problem. Double locked front driver side door with an oem actuator. Followed the video did not fix the problem but double check the both side latches. Found out outdoor side latch got stuck. Released it and got door open. Good luck

@Edward Zhang Yeah, this was the 1st thing that I've checked and tried, but no cables or levers were stuck in my case. Did the procedure shown on the video, and it didn't work as well - I could rotate the gear until the locking pin housing moved down (just as shown by the end of the video), but then it would stop rotating and the door was still stuck closed. Decided to break the whole thing apart with a hammer and a big screwdriver because there was nothing else I could think of, and nobody wanted to work on the damn thing. At least the door is open now, and I've managed not to damage the metal parts surrounding it. I'll get a new lock assembly and install it.

It's the same, the only difference is how you remove the interior trim of the door.
