The best cricket team in the world 1974 until around 1993 twenty years of the unbeatable west indies team world class, England on there day in that period of cricket history could beat anybody, anybody except West indies, nobody could beat them.. simply the best team ever even by today's standards nobody could live with them, respect
I agree with you I got totally fed up of the mismatch England v West Indies Richards. Greenidge. Marshall. Ambrose. Garner. Holding. As I remember there was a 19 out of 20 run win against England the other drawn
Stayfast my dear chap you dont happen to have the 1st day of the 1984 4th test against the Windies at Old Trafford. Was the first taste of watching test cricket live & I'd love to see the days play again to rekindle a very haply memory. Remember it being a gorgeously hot sunny day & a day the crowd were treated to two contrasting centuries by Greenidge & Dujon. Abiding memory is how wonderful to the eye was Dujon's batting.
I think 1979 Team to Australia was best WI team. Greenidge, Haynes, Viv, Kallicharan, Lawrence Rowe, Clive Lloyd, Derryck Murray, Andy Roberts, Joel Garner, Michael Holding and Collin Croft. With Reserves player Malcolm Marshall, Larry Gomes, Collis King. Viv average 96.00+ in that series.
8:00 The LBW decision Gower got here was a real shocker! He didn't play a shot, but the delivery from Garner was clearly going over the top of the stumps. Listen to the surprise in commentator Jim Laker's voice when the decision is given!
Those era BCCI cheated so many indian kids those who were dreaming big sitting in rural areas... but no TV....no live...we didn't know how India stars were playing and how fit they were.... better players were available from rural India... great BCCI... focus on few city boys only 😮
@@christopherjohnson593 Gower dismissal from 8.16 onwards is blatantly pitching outside leg. Have a look again and let me know who needs their eyes testing!
@@christopherjohnson593 Ha ha! Have a look again closely from 2.50 onwards and you'll see Fowler's clearly pitches outside leg stump and therefore cannot be out, even if a shot isn't played! I'm not sure where you're going with this one. Are you going to tell me next that the sky isn't blue?

I almost expect Garner and Marshall to take a wicket with every delivery they were that menacing and talented.
Yes!

This was the best team ever in my opinion. All bases covered with style and flair

I was there, saw viv richards hit the biggest 6 i have ever seen
Thank-you. Was it off Botham's hip?
Fowler's LBW was so high it was untrue... ...and Gower's too...
and both pitched outside leg stump!
English umpires though so can't complain!

Gower's decision was a howler. Must be the umpire getting old.
That’s not a bad England team on paper - Gower, Willis, Botham. Just shows how great West Indies must have been to slaughter them on that series.
Pls post complete match highlights even one hour for each test would be sufficient but this type of incomplete match pay nothing to us.

Fowler and Gower dismissals both pitched outside leg stump. If only we could rewrite history with DRS........
you need your eyes tested

@@bgb5126 sure Gower wasn't out you said Fowler and Gower which clearly shows you can't recognize the difference between out and not out

That wasn’t a rule in 1984

Dhoni would have rejected from India selectors for his hair style in 80s 😂
