Beautiful lady ! In 1977, I was fortunate to have played the drums for Bobbie in her production shows at the Frontier Hotel in Las Vegas. The next year, 1978, returning to Las Vegas with a whole new show, we played at the Aladdin Hotel and comedian Jim Stafford performed with Bobbie. Bobbie Gentry was a wonderful, marvelous person to know and performed with consummate elegance.

Is there any style of music not in this great lady's repertoire? She is as at ease here singing Irving Berlin as she is tackling Hank Williams , Billie Holiday or her own marvelous songs. The range is breathtaking.

Amazing to just see this in 2023, never knew she was back in the UK in the 1970's at all!
Does anyone know the male guest with Des at the start of this clip?

Looking at the entry on the Genome site it's maybe David Brenner. (I tried linking to the page but if I do the site eats my comment.)

It looks like Tom Dreesen, an American stand up comic.

A huge talent, couldn’t be put into any convenient box. Criminally underrated. Her songs are short stories of the highest level.

@@richrogers5864 There was a duet, but Des ruined a bit. Might upload it separately.
