- Locomotive 561 has been stored since March and was shipped in September. Upon arrival, we pre-lubed it and then started up the locomotive with fresh fuel. A little bump on the layshaft kept it going until the engine was able to keep itself awake.
You can see her and her sister 558 running in the western maryland scenic railroad running Thursday-Sunday
It is too bad that the B32-8 didn’t sell more! Such a locomotive would have been perfect for regional railroads and short lines. Then again, Wabtec can make new units with the straight 6 cylinder and 8 cylinder engines tier 4 GEVO engines. Nothing stops them from doing so.
I wish that NS never got rid of these. They are super unique.
they totally could of rebuilt them and used them for switching service.
@@AGTCRailroader They also would have been good local power. At least they're still alive with other railroads.
Watch his right hand
I didn't know any of those survived.
They're scattered about. This one is in a fleet of four for the owner.
One was preserved at the Lake Shore Railroad Museum in PA back in 2015.
@StonoBandito well yeah And was the only one who owned them lol
I sure like your railroad videos, always been crazy about the railroad. My grandfather, Great grandfather, my aunt and my Mom also work for the railroad back during WWII at Nashville, Tennessee's Union Station. I was lucky enough to ride in the cabs of ALCO switch locomotives. That Alco sound as You know and your viewers is a great sound. I do have a question, I always like to ask permission about things, You have a great 30 second video showing and the great sound of an idling Alco switch locomotive, I think in Avondale NY. Do I have your permission to post this on facebook, foe my friends to see and if You would rather I didn't post it I certainly understand, Again thanks for your great channel and videos, God bless!
Hi I'm in the process of making a RUclips Video on the dash 8's. May I please use some of this footage?
I think this is a nice engine but why is it called a b32 if the HP is 3150. The b23-7 also have 2250 HP despite the b23 title. These locomotives make about as much sense as 99 cent priced items.
They did they for the easy reference when selling them to railroads. Its the same when you by lumber. If you buy plywood and it says 4x8, its actually slightly smaller. They just say 4x8 to make it easy for us customers to relate to it.
I can confirm that this particular one made every bit of 3218 hp during a self test 🤷🏿♂️
