When you do this, you are agreeing to have your shares "hypothecated" which means that it is loaned out by the brokerage firm to fulfil other transactions like stock loan and borrow activity like these (on a margin account there are notices which tell you about this stuff). You are not the one who would be loaning, but the broker dealer firm would be doing stock loan here. There are quite a large amount of stock positions located in margin accounts. Stock loan positions are always eventually unwound, so only the full LONG owner will be entitled to the typical details of being a shareholder (getting to vote, getting declared and issued dividend).
Unfortunately the degree to which the world of margin account balances is queried to double check if there are available shares to do "stock loan and borrow" on the un-hypothecated shares is not done in actual proper detail. There presently is an assumed ability to borrow shares for any of the largest stock issues, which is actually a very large set of stocks.
It turns out this concerning position around Truth Social was a PUT position (supposedly 12 million PUTS) so this is options exchange standardized OPTIONS transacting. This turned out to be an error by the Austin Private Wealth LLC Investment Advisor which reported 12 mm PUTS. This outfit has filed a notice with the SEC saying this was actually 12 PUTs, not 12 million PUTS. A PUT is an option which gives the holder the ability to sell shares at the "STRIKE" price up until the contract expires. If the price on the open market for Truth Social were to go way down a person owning a LONG PUT could exercise and make money by selling at STRIKE, and buying at market to exercise.

Good point. Since the DA of Butler, PA is a Republican, Richard Goldinger, he may feel feel compelled to conduct an investigation. He's held that position for close to 20 years now. As a military brat, I can name two American military bases, both of which I lived on growing up: Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas, and Fort Meade in Maryland.
My wife went to school at Ft. Meade back in.. '04. It wasn't too bad, though have no idea how it is today.
