    If you are ever in the market for a motivational bit of karting trivia, try this one, that I'm sure you are familiar with. Former Nascar driver, Lake Speed was a 6 time International Karting Federation National Champion. But in 1978, he won the World Karting Championship over the future 3 time Formula One Champion, Ayrton Senna! You want to talk about instant, spontaneous cred❓Anything is possible to those willing to do whatever it takes.

    Like, a kart motor is cool, but you have a hyabusa motor...
    I kid, I know you are building to a spec to compete. But just thinking of how fast the formula car will be with a busa motor, imagine distilling it down even farther to a kart XD

    I do not understand the whole seat strut deal on these straight up karts.welded posts to main frame.it makes no sense to me.if ya have a 120 lb driver and a 180 lb driver how do ya move your seat enough to get weights in kart right..i think thats the worst design on these karts..my oval kart i can move my seat anywhere i need it.so much more simple

  • @Hi-Tempo
    @Hi-Tempo 2 года назад

    How do you adjust the seat for your height because I am 17 at 5’1 1/2 and i feel to short to push the pedals all the way down and tend to scoot forward which messes me up

    If your goal is to race cars. Don't stay in karts too long. Cars are completely different to drive and race. Karts are good for learning race craft and the basics of racing.

    I've actually owned a couple of top karts. They aren't the fastest chassis anymore, but they are the most durable. They are great for smaller, more frequent racing at local tracks. Great to see them getting some love

    Road raced CR125cc Shifter karts for years. Most awesome bang for the buck.
    More performance envelope than most people have any idea and they are by far the most affordable and accessible performance machines and surpasses the performance of many full on race cars at multiple times the operating cost and investment.

    Casey, I'm about as excited as you are about karting. Just hoping you'll do some follow up videos about some sessions. In the summer of 2002, I did the certification for the Kart class that was known at the time as Bombardier in my area. Not sure if that was a region or track specific thing or not. Anyway, did that with a bunch of friends, and that allowed us to rent those Bombardier powered karts on that track and have a blast. I should find out if that certification is still valid, worth something, and find a track to practice on. Have fun!

    • @CaseyPutsch
      @CaseyPutsch  3 года назад

      You don’t need a certification to race karts man.

    • @brainiac9579
      @brainiac9579 3 года назад +1

      @@CaseyPutsch You don't, in the USA. From where I'm from, we did, for insurance reasons vs the track owner. Not material, but physical insurance. I guess if we were to actually own the karts, that might have been different. But we were renting them. As I said, I would have to look into that. Same is true, for us here, if you want to use a climbing wall. It's a sad state of things.

    • @ericbrandt829
      @ericbrandt829 3 года назад

      My old Margay came in 3rd place @ IKF Nationals after I traded my buddy for his interest in 1968 Z/28 Camaro we had bought together....But that was the early 80's....My buddies daughter raced pretty successfully in IKF until the nationals and some "Chick's Team" pulled up in a 30ft transporter with multiple chassis and stacks of tires...What was that chick's name...D Patrick something or other as I recall....Yep true story! Yamaha was totally NEGLIGENT in never making a "touch and go" KT100 motor....they are IDIOTS! I hear there are some in Australia....definitely need a "TAG" feature on any Kart these days

    • @numbzinger350
      @numbzinger350 3 года назад

      @@ericbrandt829 I had a KT100 on my kart too and won one feature on dirt with it. I only had one spare tire and was a pure rookie with no help and had to figure out everything for myself. I sure was proud of myself that night.
      It had completely wore out tires on the back and the top finishers all came to my pits to look at my tires. They couldn't figure out how I beat them and walked away shaking their heads but the next week they all showed up with slicks on the rear.
      That name you mentioned, it sure does ring a bell. :)
