Thank you for this detailed video.. It is exactly what I was trying to figure out before buying these big sprinklers, how they'd perform with the petrol pumps. God Bless You.
It would be interesting to put some cans in the irrigated area to see the amount of water that is actually getting to the trees. Great video, Phil. Cheers!
I didn't make the stand. Its the prebuilt stand like this: amzn.to/4cxqqCj on the bottom is standard NPT thread. I got a 1.5 - 2 inch adapter and threaded on my 2 inch quick connect
Keep up the awesome improvements. Before you know it all this will be second nature and you can focus of wood splitting and watering at the same time. Two birds with one stone.
If you got a 150 or 200 series gun and a pto pump and engine you could really cover some ground with them the 200 is maxed out at about 300ish feet. The new pump seems to have more pressure and your sprinkler is shooting farther and has more stream atomization.
Thanks for the info. This year we got lucky and hardly had to irrigate at all. I'll probably look for a bigger pump in the future as I know my little 2" pumps aren't the best for this application.
Why type of supply line did you use. I need to go 800’ from the spring and the cheapest option I can come up with is 2” schedule 40 pvc. 20 ‘ pieces for about $3:50’
Thank you for you quick response. I really appreciate it. I'm starting a new farm in central Africa and not quite use to this technology. Thanks again!!
92 foot head requires 40 psi, so now you are running 50 psi. The big question will be answered on your next test is... can you still get good pressure running two sprinklers. Looking forward to hearing/seeing it. Good luck!
Right, it takes at least 5-6 years to get to market size. We've brought in trees from other farms in previous years and will do that again this year. Another 2 years or so before any of our trees are ready.
@@WoodsTreeFarm crazy prices, seems like you would be able to sell them for at least 100 bucks minimum, that's alot of time and work into it to give up for 70 80 dollars, is that really the going rate, it would be fun to see you get more than that out of them, just my opinion

Thank you so much for helping me choose the type of pump I need for my place
Flow is more important than pressure to a sprinkler head.

You are so welcome! Thanks for watching

I'll do that today for y'all.
Exactly what I was thinking, like a few rain gauges from the end of the spray pattern to the post that holds the sprinkler. 👍🏼
I love coming across a good buy like that. Looks like you're getting double the coverage now!
The last minute or two of the vid I went into the numbers in detail. It was just about exactly double the sq.ft. coverage.
@@WoodsTreeFarm yes I saw lol I didn’t skip through 😂
Here's an idea.. swap the pump heads.. the extra 2 horse may give more distance...
More coverage means less dragging hose. LOL. We finally got rain last night. Been over a month. Take care!!
Hi. Thank you for your video. Did two in series ended up working?
I did but with lower pressure per head it didn't really end up covering any larger of an area
@@WoodsTreeFarm got it thanks. Need a head and a pump to cover 180 feet diameter, was hoping two in series would do
just what i needed to see thank you
good to hear. thanks!
Can you show me how you made the stand for it. Connection and what not. Do you hane a 2” hose connected to the PVC?
I didn't make the stand. Its the prebuilt stand like this: amzn.to/4cxqqCj on the bottom is standard NPT thread. I got a 1.5 - 2 inch adapter and threaded on my 2 inch quick connect
I would bet that with a decent pressure tank, a solar pump, and some zone timers, you could cover all of those trees automated with drip…
Keep up the awesome improvements. Before you know it all this will be second nature and you can focus of wood splitting and watering at the same time. Two birds with one stone.
Sounds like that 2nd pump revs up a bit more = more pressure .
Yes, it's definitely more pressure. It's a Different design/style of pump, designed for more pressure than the trash pump

What is a PTO pump and engine?
@@CrochetNewsNetwork runs off a engine. What farmers use to irrigate the big fields

I use 2" reinforced layflat such as this amzn.to/3JzUaTa
I see some larger trees. What species are those? Also, what sprinkler head are you using? Thanks.
HOW FAR FROM WATER SOURCE IS IT TO THE SPRINKLER?
where this video was shot was about 200ft I think. Ive run it as far as 600 ft and the throw radius goes down to about 40ft on that pacer pump.
How long of a run is it from your pond to the sprinkler
This example was about 300ft. I've done up to 600ft no problem
Can you please tell me which model of sprinkler you are using in this video?
its the 1.5" sime rain gun like this amzn.to/2WSSyOT

Second message. Is there a stand that is built for this sprinkler head?

It does ok with 2 sprinklers but had to put on smaller nozzles. See it running at the end of this video. ruclips.net/video/NBi-1iWiGVE/видео.html
The PSI to head ratio depends on the diameter of the pipe
How much are you able to sell the trees for
None of our trees are ready to sell yet, but we have opened a tree lot the previous 2 years with precut trees and sell most $70-85
@@WoodsTreeFarm are they 6 ft tall by then, seems like a good price for the buyer doesn't it take 7 years to get them that tall

@@SolidworksUnlimitedI was thinking the same thing especially in this economy $100 per tree. Seem like a crazy good price at $70 to $80
Going from 48 feet to 68 feet is a DOUBLING of square feet…
Should build a small pump house for ur pump mabey the size of a dog house
yeah, that's been on to-do list for a while. Need to get it done.
Your a nerd and a Christmas tree farmer!! Lol I ama nerd that also wants to be a Christmas tree farmer!
You should take it back. It’s your business you are messing with for a $100 savings.
Boy im jealous. I need to step my game up.
