Fun fact : in mid-game when computer gave slight advantage to white (0.5) hikaru, being a hater, confidently said Magnus is gonna smoke him in such a position. He literally said “smoke”.
@@ndnd7614 Magnus probably saw ghosts .. world#1 doesn’t give up a rook for no reason. Also, if you are going by that logic, Alireza could’ve kept the game equal or equalized but he blundered moves that to some ppl’s eyes didn’t make much sense.
great game magnus sacrificing a pawn early for the advantage then being up a ,major piece then going for the kill great commentating james nobody does it better
"these guys know the squares".. duh... ladies love bad boys. You have a good and bad knight. Kb, Kg....the Bad boy in most scenarios kisses that gal. Occasionally the good knight will kiss the cowboy (king) but not on some folks boards. This takes 5 minutes to learn. So it is not just "these guys" that know the Bad Knight kisses the gal.
Maybe it is as true for chess as for go: AI shows that moves that human experts despise are not that bad at all, opening all kinds of new possibilities, making these games so much bigger and more interesting than they already are. AI as the bringer of freedom!

@@paulbloemen7256 Well regardless, the engine may show that some moves we don't like are good, but also shows moves we do like are bad. So freedom gained and freedom lost. The whole "AI bringer of freedom!" Sounds like a line from a movie.
Regardless of Engines the Human with the Better Chess Mind will be the winner Stockfish can agree or disagree with any given move the Chess player is still going to play what they feel is the best move
Crazy game. And uncharacteristic of Magnus. When he's on form, he's like a boa constrictor, he would slowly suffocate and squeeze the life out of you. He would extract every last drop until you've lost the will to live. I wish Alireza found the winning move though. That wouldve been swindle of the century.
Lot of pressure playing Magnus he’s the Best and everyone knows that Alireza has his hands full he made a fantastic comeback in the first game but trying too hard in the second game almost sets a person up for failure

Thanks a lot Dominik!
Wow Go Ahead Alireza Magnificent play and Comeback in this Game
Quite a poor classical game by Ali Ressa, but he almost managed to win it.
Yes true!
Wonderful games and perfect, entertaining and instructive commentary! Thanks!
Thanks a lot Chris!

?? Magnus did smoke alireza but then gave him first aid by giving up a rook for no reason. Reminds me of Nepo.

Bro, engines have been around for a while. You sound like you're gonna start a religion.

Loved that alphago documentary on Netflix so good
Fantastic analysis, earned a sub 👍
Thanks a lot appreciate it !
New to your channel ... very nice analysis.
Sweet to see Alireza so friendly immediately after losing.
Thanks a lot Pandoor! And yeah 😁
Disappointed by the alireza's reaction to the crazy Bd3
He should punish Magnus😀
Ben Feingold talks about some guy on the tournament circuit in the 80s (?) who had this Bd3 c3 Bc2 system vs the Sicilian… 🤷🏻♂️👍🏽 name Kopek perhaps?
Oh cool, such a random one especially how Carlsen played it haha
@@epicchess2021 Really Alpha Zero right?? Piece activity >> point value… 👏👏🤯🤯
I was siting in Starbucks when I reviewed this video, and after Magnus’s 3rd move, I burst out loud laughing.
Haha nice 😆 it’s certainly an interesting one…!
What a game! Fireworks 💥

Yeah you rarely see that from Magnus true!
Are you related to Konstantin Kisin?
Not that I’m aware ! 😄
They should allow shit-talking in chess to make it more interesting to watch the games instead of these commentaries
06:07 Alireza is cheesy you are so funny
messy game ... I can't help but feel disappointed by Ali Reza ... This game was mad

Winning the Armageddon is not that rewarding in this tournament so who cares
@@bisket81 I guess Magnus cares those were the only games he could win
bd3 should not be allowed 🤪
