I feel your pain brother. Some folks have difficulty letting go of their military identity. Yours truly included. Spent 20 years in the military. Retired as a MSgt/E7 in Sept 2012. Having held a leadership role I find it difficult to say the least to start from scratch as Mr or Ms Smith.
Most companies say the support military but can feel intimidated by veterans for one reason or another. You'll get that "thank you for your service" lip service but the behavior is anything but on their end.
Maybe I'm just a cynic. But most corporations tend to be more concerned with the bottom line than the welfare/well being of the people that are keeping that corporation/company going. You make one mistake and it could be the last. They can fire you on the spot and not have to give a reason for doing so. Most jobs are at will employment. Yet you are expected to give these people 2 weeks notice. Its a joke in my opinion. As an employee you become just another number rather than a human being. Enough of my rant. I wish you/family luck brother. Take care and God bless.

This video really resonated with me as I’m finishing the second week of my fully-remote fellowship, and experiencing many of the same doubts and frustrations… Thanks for sharing your journey!

Hi sir! Im new to the channel and I am liking it a lot. Also I would like to give you 2 ergonomic advices, in case you would like to avoid some back problems caused by a bad posture (my own experience). I would recommend you in this new job to put ur PC higher, in line with your head (and eyes), so you do not have to bend your back. In this way you can avoid future back problems.
Also, you can conect a Keyboard and mouse to your Laptop, so you can put it over a box or conected to a Monitor, and use the keyboard in the place you are having it.
*Maybe a gaming chair, would be great for even more comfortability.
God bless you, and I hope the best for you and your family

Thank you! I am definitely going to re-vamp the area, but only so much I can do in this RV. 🤣 Already bought a stand up desk and a better suite of tools. Thanks so much for the advice!

I'm interested in finding out if you stayed with your host company and if so, how did you overcome the hurdle.

Hello! Thanks for watching. First, that was filmed in 2021 - so its been a while. I did get an actual role, just keep watching the video series. I was hired on as a contractor. Then late that year, I was hired on as a full-time employee in another office. But then in late 2022, I left the company for another role in another organization. It took several discussions with mentors and also using a great service called American Corporate Partners Mentoring Program. Lots of reflection and just sticking to it.
