    Austin, I used to be a religious viewer of your videos. I kinda stopped watching your videos for a while, about 6 months. After coming back to your videos, I can say that they have improved so much. They seem much higher quality, they have so much more personality, overall great stuff man. Keep up the great work.

    • @anonanon69

      +SoloReaper7 You are fucking cancer. Some people on Consoles don't pay for PS+/Live because they only play single player games. Most "console killers PCs" are shit, they usually rely on an Athlon x4 or a G3258 with a 750ti or a r7 370. Both cards barely run games at console framerates. God I fucking hate people like you. I am a PC gamer, but Consoles have a place.

    I have one of these and i love it! The form factor is great and the Gtx960 has real punch. I don't run most games at 1080p on the machine though, i tend to find that with triple AAA titles titles tend to look better at 900p with all the settings cranked up as opposed to 1080p with most of them turned down. Might even buy a graphics amp in future if i ever fancy a VR headset.

    • @grayko
      @grayko 8 лет назад

      As a GTX 960 desktop GPU owner....high-ultra with 60fps stable (or just under, looking at you Division 50 fps) on 99% of properly optimized games...quite doable. Next year might be a different story, but right now, it really is still a pretty damn good card for 1080p if you bought it before the newest card lines released.

      the 960 is literally capable of running any game you want at decent fps, as long as you don't run everything on Ultra high, it's not a very old gpu (yet). It will be debatable in another year.

    I own an R1 Alienware Alpha i7 that's maxed out and I'm not convinced that the R2 series is as of yet worth considering a purchase. I was super lucky too in that mine only cost $250 used due to a BIOS fault that I fixed for free. Anywho, the 860M GPU in the original Alpha series is quite decent considering it's basically a soldered in overclockable 750 Ti. Is the R2 with 960 graphics any better? I'd like to see real world specs that confirm this, with a full spec measurement of the GPU, as vendors have been untruthful before about the GPU's loaded into their small form factor PC's, and the Gigabyte Brix 760 series and Zotac EN970 were examples of this- claiming to have GTX760 and GTX960 graphics respectively, whereas in reality it was revealed later on that in fact these machines actually had an 870M and 970M. I would bet on the same for Dell's Alienware Alpha series, and I'm willing to wait for the R3 if it becomes a thing in a couple years, something loaded with Nvidia 10 series GPU's- full on desktop variants as it would seem that the performance gap has finally closed between GTX and M GPU's from team green.

      Right on! The major draw that has me enticed to get an R2 Alpha is that Graphics Amplifier port. If I can pick one up used in the future I just might, though there are new machines popping onto the market remarkably fast right now with amazing specs. That Backpack VR Go PC that came out recently for example- onboard 1070 and dual hot swappable batteries. As a desktop replacement that could be huge to me, as I'd love a machine with onboard redundant backup power :-]

      ***** Indeed my friend. The performance on this machine absolutely blows my mind. Its crazy good. I can put most of my games on Ultra and get reasonable FPS and performance. Feel free to check out my channel for game benchmark tests on it, sorry if I sound like im asking for subs haha.

      It's 800 USD for the 960 version. And 200 more for good monitor. As for portability, you already lost it without worrying about the monitor cause you have to plug it in. But at least can choose what monitor you can use, big or small.

  • @Deadsea_1993
    @Deadsea_1993 4 года назад

    I'd like to make an update since this is a few years old. I'd like to note some opinions on this
    1. The Model i-3 can be bought off Ebay for $300. Some will include a 360 controller too. The I-5 is also in a good price point. I wouldn't get an i-7 though as the I-5 would be more than enough out of the two. The I-3 though isn't bad at all.
    2. The Hive UI was abandoned and so you will have to delete it and use the console like a PC in Desktop mode. You can't even go directly to Steam anymore.
    3. Don't get it and expect to play games like Red Dead Redemption 2 on ultra settings. I wouldn't get it for Cyberpunk 2077 either. With that said, it can play games like Gta V, The Witcher 3, Shadow Of Mordor and Doom (2016) on high settings. I was able to get good Fps in Red Dead Redemption 2 on Medium settings.
    4. Try to get one that has 1 TB of hard drive. The included 500 gigs might be too small. If you can't find one, you can buy one for cheap. 1 TB is the max on this device. You can opt for SSD if you want.
    5. Upgrading the ram is very important. It can hold a max of 16 gigs, but 8 should be fine. Again, people selling most of these consoles on Ebay have already done this. If you get a 4 gig one, upgrade that asap. Games like Sleeping Dogs and Gta V would be very glitchy at 4 gigs with bad stuttering.
    With all that said, I enjoy mine. The price point was very good as I paid $300 for mine. It included everything, even the box. It also was already upgraded to Windows 10, 8 gigs of Ram, and 1 TB. It auto recognized the Included wireless 360 controller and it included a wireless receiver for it. I got a One controller and used a USB to wire it and Steam Big Picture mode auto recognized it. To use a keyboard and mouse and play Doom (2016) on high settings for this price point was great. I can also play the Microsoft Xbox One games on Steam too.

      Witcher has been patched and works fine for most people. Works fine even on that guys 375$ "Potato Masher" PC. There are *some* drops at very high settings on his PC, but still... the game doesn't run any better for console players (Xbox gamers mainly)... And they're not even playing the game at 1080p high settings (A mix of norm and high).
      Emphasis on SOME

      Btw: The computer's GPU in that Witcher 3 video I linked is weaker than the 960. He's running a 2GB GTX 760. His CPU is worse than yours also.
      Another video: /watch?v=c48B9vg-RcM (Witcher 3 being played on a computer with spec similar to yours)
      /watch?v=DXxSU3lS2NM (Shadow of Mordor being run on a set up similar to yours.)
      Note: SoM couldn't be maxed because he's running a 2GB variant of the 960, like you. The 960 in Austin's video is a 4GB.

    As an owner of his PC myself, I can say that it is a nice pc for casual gaming. It does slow down at times when the C-Drive fills to over 90% capacity but slap a hard drive to it and it runs smooth. Games like The Forest and Subnautica (Even with a less than recommended CPU for Subnautica) can be run at high settings with no major FPS loss. (My PC averaging around 65 to 70 FPS for these games)
    This PC, or maybe just my own I'm not sure, has an issue with running Fortnite Battle Royale even at low settings with only 10% of the hard drive filled. Since I have stopped playing the game its not a problem for me anymore but if anyone is looking play Fortnite Battle Royale on this PC take notice.
