Teignmouth to Exeter St. Thomas was my daily commute - for 2 and a half years - I loved seeing the sea in all its moods from the raging surf that would crash spray against the windows along the sea wall to the days when it was like a mirror. I miss that.
This video reminds me of a scene from Studio Ghibli's 'Spirited Away', especially when the train travels along the water/coast. Beautiful and peaceful! There was one part in the video where there were garbage lining the side of the tracks so I'm not sure what happened there, but other than that, the views were beautiful. Keep it up!
Captions very much needed. Also not sure why Dawlish's Coryton, Phillot and Clerks tunnels (very much part of the Dawlish train experience) were cut from the footage, especially when we're sat at Newton Abbot for endless minutes on end with nothing happening. That said, fantastic video of that run of line. Good job.
100%. I’m in Australia although British. Many British wouldn’t know the stations. Context is everything and without it, it’s just a pretty video of a train and countryside
@@andyrob3259 Oh please god no . . . I have seen so many wonderful ‘train driver’s view’ videos spoiled by station names, maps, and speedos splashed all over the place. Honestly, if I wanted my view obscured by graffiti I’d take a Melbourne Metro train. It’s so refreshing to at last find videos free of such pollution. If National Rail ever adds station names to its videos (instead of, say, putting time stamps in the description) I hope the rest of us who are just on board for the scenery are given the option of turning the bloody things off.

In addition to the bad lighting, tunnel cuts and 'do it like Don' comments, I hope you didn't pay for that music - cab/train sounds are much preferred!
These are great videos in a great series, could someone caption them so we know the station names? The background music is superb and enhances the experience
It would have been better if this was done on a sunny morning with sun behind the train, aso missing out all the tunnels was a mistake, should have left them in.
100%. The best videos as a layman to get to know the history of a line, what old rail infrastructure was and where Old lines used to be. He really researches for his video.
Though now somewhat dated "by age" but still very watchable is the HST WEST and HSTfarWEST videos with Anton Rodgers narrating. circa 1990, with commentary and overhead footage and points of history discussed at length. I always watch them on the lead up to our annual visit to Devon and Cornwall. That said, any new footage is more than welcome.
Kinda kills the ASMR vibes when you play generic ambient tracks over the video. I can do that myself if that's the mood i'm in. But the original audio? Guess i'm shit out of luck. The engine sounds, track sounds, the dings of the AWS etc.... That's what makes these type of videos 'relaxing'. Edit. If you really insist on the soundtrack, at the very least use a proper mix. There should never be silence in between tracks.
Nice video, but I cannot help a bit of nit-picking! It's filmed on at least 2 trains to keep the sun ahead all the way. In reality the line dramatically changes direction, like 120 degrees or so change from the Exe to Teign esturies. Also, there's a missing minute through the tunnels after Dawlish, presumably to miss all the construction work going on along the cliff there. Apart from that, very nice. Sorry!
I'm 2 minutes in and got fed up of this annoying music. I thought okay skip it in a bit and see if the music has disappeared. Nope still their. If your going to post a video like this it doesn't need the music. Natural sound of the train itself would do just fine. Have a look at Dan Coffey's channel. That's how you produce a video
Beautiful really beautiful video...if I could slow the speed down by half and have the music I would be in bliss thank you.
Exquisite route.
I would love to see it again in mid-day with better lighting ♥
Please do one without music, thanks!

Spoiled by the sun, and why do we have to have this inane muzak rather than the sound of the train?
Nice video. I go on this train a lot and really enjoy the scenery.
Station names :)
2:00 - Exeter St Thomas
10:00 - Starcross
14:35 - Dawlish Warren
18:28 - Dawlish
21:50 - Teignmouth
29:34 - Newton Abbot
39:25 - Torre
42:23 - Torquay
48:00 - Paignton
you should totally put the soundtrack on spotify
i could study to this for hours
Great scenery. Just one suggestion for future videos. Could we have captions to identify the stations? Watching for Australia.

Agree! Although I’ve got an old BR atlas handy when I watch!

Most of us appreciate the information.
Wonderful and stunning 😍
The sun glinting off the sea is our favourite part - glad you enjoyed the journey. ☀️
Excelent video realy good Quality The only thing missing is the cations a littel more information woul make them top quality
In addition to the bad lighting, tunnel cuts and 'do it like Don' comments, I hope you didn't pay for that music - cab/train sounds are much preferred!
You can always turn the volume down !!
Me encanta ❤
While I was at college I did this journey everyday nearly, I do miss it sometimes
What a beautiful way to commute to college - come on board again soon.
Captions are a must. Not everyone watching will have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the truncated rail network.
I live in Paignton, I have done this trip so many times.

Thanks for this, enjoyed it, but have a look at Don Coffey's channel to see how to produce a top rate cab video!

Yes, Don sets the standard for these cab view videos
I have done this journey many times lately, I just wished the camera was pointed more at the sea side (left)
Wow nice love it lol

Is this a RUclips channel?
I would prefer if you did a voice over and hear the train.
A lovely line to see recorded, but I agree that filming into a setting sun is not a good idea
Dear National Rail, PLEASE leave out the music and let us hear just the train sounds. Railway enthusiasts prefer it that way!
Wow

I agree with all the Don Coffey comments - the music is annoying and you cut the best bits between Dawlish and Teignmouth.
Seen much better, captions etc

Please do another video with WhispersRed!
Not sure about the music either...
❤
Needs captions plus speedometer.
😹😹😹The route heads totally South, so of course you’re going to get the sun! Also, don’t like the music? Hit the mute button! Unbelievable comments 😹😹😹
You need the original audio tracks not this Erie music. Nice footage though!
Trebble lets have incab soundnot cheap computer mus

Boring music , about as scenic as a trip through the Mersey Tunnel. Try making the videos sometime in the afternoon, this one is way to dark.
Have only watched 2 from this channel so far… both have been filmed heading into the sun ! >>>>> unsubscribe !
Shame about the time of day.
Better behind a class 50 lol 😆
Beautiful scenery and beautiful music 🤩 why would anyone need the woke BBC and Netflix trash.
Back in public ownership please!

I thought the music was great.
Have to agree with Reece, the music became a background annoyance after a few minutes please don't use it again, other than that very enjoyable.
Nice video, music was irritating.
