I use to be bad about leaving cabinet doors open until the time I bent down to get something in a lower cabinet and when i raised up i hit my head on the corner of the door I left open. It cut my skin but the pain was that kind of pain that just cuts through your entire body. It was horrible. I learned my lesson.
I’ve been with my husband for 18 years and to be honest I don’t have too many pet peeves about him. One that comes to mind is when i’m sleeping facing him and he gets up to use the bathroom, he’ll come back and fluffs his pillows by flipping them over and kind of plopping then on the bed and big puff of air hits me in the face and wakes me up. I’m a good sleeper so I usually just drift right back to sleep but it’s a little starling when I’m sound asleep. Thanks for the video. So glad you guys can be silly and laugh about your pet peeves instead of getting into arguments about it. So cute and adorable your interaction with each other.

I like your solution to the driving thing: just let Blue drive. My ex was a bit of a control queen, and nowhere as much as in the car. So I just handed him the controls and let him drive. End of conflicts. And I get to look at the scenery (which I admittedly sometimes did when I was driving) and not have to make split decisions that are life and death. I'm a happy camper and he's a happy pilot. We have remained friends since our divorce, but when we drive anywhere, he's still at the wheel.

You two are so lucky to have found each other.
    Besides living remote and being together 24/7;
or, having to endure long work gigs apart,
you obviously just enjoy living life with each other.
Lots of folks could have made a video like that.
But not many folks could have unpacked that ‘stuff’
and just sat there laughing at their own and their
partner’s idiosyncrasies with genuine humor and
    acceptance.
When people wonder out loud if there really are
soulmates, and what it would be like if they ever
found one, they are wondering could it ever happen
for them the way it is happening for the three of you.
Thanks for sharing part of your lives with us.

Self closing cabinet doors and drawers, dump bowl for kitchen scraps, no vacuuming near area when food is being prepared (kicks up dust motes and dust mites), 2 sets or larger blankets if they hang off the edge of the bed almost to the ground there will be plenty to keep you both covered.😊

Thank you guys!

Interesting how applicable your discussion was. My wife and I have been married for 37 years and our pet peeves are virtually identical to yours. When that's as bad as things get -- things must be pretty darn good overall. One of the things that helps us is, while there are a lot of things we COULD argue about -- when you stop and think about them, there are very few things actually worth FIGHTING about.
By the way, my big gripe about the kitchen cabinet doors being left open is that I've hit my head HARD on the corners of them more than once (while fetching something from a lower cabinet that my wife requested.).

I agree with Matt about the cabinet doors. I work in a small Starbucks kiosk in a hospital cafe. In one of the cabinets we keep bags of non-dairy creamer for the dispenser. Every time someone comes to get a new bag of creamer they always leave the cabinet door open. It drives me crazy. They open it, so why can't they close it.

As someone who’s lived with my (now) husband for almost 25 years, those things are normal and you have to learn to “surrender anger” and cope with them (some things you will NEVER EVER change on your beloved one) and ONLY reserve conflict (and I don’t mean hysterical teenager tantrums, but serious conversations) for those things that you were clear you will never accept (and I don’t mean dumb minutiae like leaving cabinet doors open etc.). This doesn’t mean that you forget to talk about those things that trouble you, but you will face them in a different way, when they appear. Because humans are not programmable robots (yet) and slavery is no longer a thing either: you live with a different someone; that will always be the burden (and the bliss).
ALSO there are certain things that YOU will have to learn to change for the sake of the relationship, and yes, there are those you can change too, even if (under your point of view or logic or whatever) make “no sense” or you think should be different. On some issues, you will be the one who has the final stand and on others, he will be the one. Both have to kill some ego for the relationship and this is what makes the bond work. Understand that the only person who will always perfectly “agree” with you is yourself (and sometimes even that is dubious) and loneliness sucks (and EVERY other real person you could think of has their own “strange gifts” to give that you can only discover when living with them and some are the themes of horror movies).
You have to remember how LUCKY you are for finding someone to love AND who loves you back (and that’s BEYOND the physical attraction, a soulmate) who will be with you on dark times (and dark times always come, whether on the family, regarding health, work, whatever) and having someone who can help you gather your emotional pieces to keep living and even plan for the future.
You also have the very rare (for a gay marriage) of a son to love and teach, who absorbs the examples you show as a family (yes, HE is the child, not you or and your husband) and adds another layer of commitment as a family.
There is always the option of being single, having (purportedly) your own place the way you like and do whatever you want as the lonely king of your empty reign, having fleeting not committed relationships with people who will never connect and care (and that can be even crazier) and rely heavily on relatives (who, by the way, have their own problems to cater) when and if the asteroid strikes but you have to realize that the older you get the harder it is to backtrack on being single. Obviously your son would be in distress (because he loves you both in the same place) but at least in such circumstance you will only have your son to quarrel, even at the same childish level.
Nowadays more than ever, people think that other people are just like products that they discard instantly not even trying to invest on a common bond as it is easier to look for just another photo, and another, and another among a sea of people who have exactly the same complain (“no one commits, everyone has issues or is crazy, I will never accept this or that” etc.) and everyone seem focused on what others can do for them, offering only demands in exchange; so when you found a significant other, it is worth the work.

When you have been with each other and can be open and honest and that is a good thing. The fact you can share and listen and be open and laugh too is important.

I love this, my husband and I have been together 27 years, and you hit on just about all our pet peeves with each other! One additional, running the dishwasher or the washing machine with less than a full load.

My biggest pet peeve is my husband died 6 years ago and left me all alone in the world. What I wouldn't give to take the rumpled damp dish towel off the counter and hang it to dry again. Or have to pick up his socks and throw them into the hamper again. Or any number of annoying little things he did that I miss so desperately now that he's gone. Cherish the moments, no matter how annoying, Matt and Blue. Trust me, you miss them when they're gone.

OK. The editing slide transition in the sponsorship part (vegetables in the sink) was one of their coolest - loved that I liked the voiceover bit, too: very Mark E Miller-ish.

When my partner and I retired in 2014 we started living each minute with each other too. It's trying. But we've lasted 30 years so all the pet peeves are sort of gone by now. We're used to it by now.

So cute and adorable couple I love Blue's laugh and I love Matt's eyes

My pet peeve is that since following their channel years ago, it’s always Blue’s way and wishes. Matt then follows.

21 years together and we have some of the same pet peeves! Cupboard doors, clean-as-you-go while cooking and back seat driver. I'd also add leaving the TV or tablet on when you're not watching it and tapping your foot, talking or figeting while watching TV or a movie. 😂

Its super cute when they’re arguing about each other’s pet peeves

Best to just laugh it off.... because it will never change and neither party will EVER convince the other to think differently. It's not an insult to each other, it's just different ways we each operate. LOVE gives us the strength to laugh it off.

Ahh, Pet Peeves. The secret to true love and success is living with pet peeves for the 42 years my husband and I lived. Some of them you just let go (complain once in a while but WTF then let them go). You guys are an inspiration.

This is Love, these are the things that you will remember and miss the most and treasure dearly! I would give everything I own to be annoyed just one more day.
