How do you handle needing extra time to do assignments that take other people do quickly? It is so demoralizing for me, I feel like I'm spinning my wheels and not getting anywhere.
THIS. try not to compare yourself to others (easier said then done I know). but you have loads of other strengths that neurotypical people probably dont- like hyperfocusing and learning random skills, thinking out of the box, creativity... you'll find a job that suits your skillset that they would struggle with and they'll find something that suits them. like for example- I have the exact same struggle but when making a portfolio for uni, I took pictures of loads of the random skills I learnt when procrastinating and I thought they were useless. all my friends were confused as to where I learnt all those skills and the unis were impressed that I had interests outside of school and accepted me
If you’re in school or University tell someone. Tell your counsellor or mentor or whatever resource is available for disabilities. It’s okay to ask for help when you need it. In all probability you will be given extra time or extended deadlines.
True. U would need to probably have counselling sessions now and then not regularly just now and then with the campus counselor and then she would probably have to write something like a letter that you can give to a lecturer etc now and then when u really have to
Ultimate hack for me personally: Get the book and the audiobook. I put the audiobook at 2x speed and use my finger to glide along as I read. This makes sure I stay focused, because if I lose focus, the annoying audio is in my ears to remind me what I need to do. I rewind and keep going if I get off track The only downside to this method is that not everything has an audiobook, and it’s more expensive to get both versions
I can’t bring myself to work until it’s barely enough time. And then I always watch videos about how to motivate yourself, but then it’s already too late. I’m working on it tho. I’d like to mention that I wrote this comment once before in German until I realized that this video was made in English so I had to rewrite the whole thing in English. Damn you trilingual brain! At least I didn’t bring in French-
Summary for my fellow mind wanderers looking thru the comments 1 wake up early (to give you more time in case you get distracted) 2 eat a big breakfast (hunger will distract u. Fight hunger w food and snax) 3 move around when you study (change of scenery and novelty sometimes helps) 4 give yourself more time to complete the assignment 5 exercise before class or studying (helpful!! Im the same- if i plan on working out in the PM i keep thinking of it throughout the day) 6 dance party when ur struggling to concentrate (releases energy buildup) 7 avoid caffeine for those who get jittery 8 put your phone away from you. Use only during breaks

I don't know if I have ADHD but I'm watching this video because I'm desperate. I need to get my degree by the end of the year and I really need this. By the way I love to change too, it's just boring to stay in one place.
I'm not sure if I have ADHD but I'm reading the comments as I'm listening, I only came here to see two perspectives on people who study, people with and without adhd just so I can see what works best for me.
I also like to move a bit when studying. I sit on a medicine ball, and find that the movement helps sometimes. PS: Thanks for the video, it's nice to know I'm not the only one out here struggling.
Change of scenery is hard cause all get distracted on the way there or as I’m setting up again. So I try to only do it when I’m already gonna move like meal times or bathroom breaks.
Bed is the worst place you want to study on because it’s too comfortable and it makes you want to lay down lol . The library on the other hand worked for me like a charm , the studying environment helps concentrate a little more while you can take a 5 minute break every 30min
I tried waking up a lot earlier than I normally wake up and it worked today! Good ideas. I try to make myself sit still while studying but I find myself never being able to complete a task
This is really helpful...I also procrastinate more when I wake up late. I guess its really okay if I take more time to complete things, I never thought about it that way. Thank u💫
You're such a beautiful soul, you are! Your video is very nice to watch. I am a life coach, and I recently had a 50-year ol student who has no idea how to study with ADHD. Your video has given me lots to talk about in my next session :) Thanks pretty one!
my mom always told me to walk while studying because it helps retain info better (i think), but i never can. it makes me very dizzy and i am unable to focus on my work.
Glad to know that I am not the only one who does the dance party technique! Sometimes it is literally the only thing that helps lol. Thanks for awesome tips!
My main issue is that I will completely plan how I will do all my assignments and missing work then when I get home it completely phases out of my mind until i'm about to go to bed...
Thnk u so much Jamie Ah i loved this so much Ur tips are practical and i can follow easily I'm not taking any medications so this is really helpful And you're so cute I just subbed lots of love dear 💕 mgbuuuh
Friendly reminder that everyone is different and what works for someone else may not work for you. Waking up early is a must for me. I'll be tired either way but this way I'll actually get a lot of studying done in the morning instead of starting in the afternoon. But caffeine has no effect on me whatsoever
Actually with the phone part i use one of those apps that locks your phone some time and put the phone right infront of me. Cuz i get distracted when i dont have my phone around. Like i keep on thinking someone might text me or something. Idk it works for me kinda.
Good Luck White Soul Sister and I hope you get all the Healings help that u deserve and others that follow I believe in MIRACLES and Healings and that's my prayers for you all

I find reading to be the biggest struggle. I love reading for pleasure, but reading yo study is incredibly challenging.
Yeah I have the same problem. It can get demotivating to finish it all up
Try reading aloud, but if you can't just mouth the words as you read in your head.
I find using audio books when available helpful.

the kitty kneading on your bed was soo adorable
Hey thank u for sharing. I'm diagnosed ADHD at the age of 17 so I hope this one will work for me.
Yes same How are you dealing with it?
Dancing before starting tasks that require sitting at one place helps me focus too! Thanks for this helpful summarization:)
I also like to move a bit when studying. I sit on a medicine ball, and find that the movement helps sometimes.

The cat making biscuits 💖💖💖this helps me a lot! I will follow some of these thips💕❤

This is so helpful! I'm going to try the dancing tip. I love a good boogie to Lizzo or early 2000s music haha! Thank you for sharing!!
The cat plays an important role in this 😂 love the video 🧘♀️
If anything she plays the most important role in this video 😂 thanks buddy ❤️
I just wanted to say, "Thank You" for sharing your tips. I am trying to find things that will help me with my adhd. Love to you always
5:44 so now not only am I not revising, I'm watching someone else do revision while not revising, with all my other tabs and deadlines staring at me
You are a sweet girl and your pace is super clean. Well done x
Agree that everyone should try meds. But, how to handle crashes and other side effects?? How did you handle them?
my mom always told me to walk while studying because it helps retain info better (i think), but i never can. it makes me very dizzy and i am unable to focus on my work.
Me: puts alarm at 8am
Also me: wakes up at 11.40

got yourself another sub.
Glad to know that I am not the only one who does the dance party technique! Sometimes it is literally the only thing that helps lol. Thanks for awesome tips!
She addresses the topic at 2:49.
SO NICE WHEN I UNEXPECTEDLY HEAR THE SOUTH AFRICAN ACCENT
My main issue is that I will completely plan how I will do all my assignments and missing work then when I get home it completely phases out of my mind until i'm about to go to bed...
what do I do if for a whole day I tried many times to study but I wasn't getting into the flow and know I feel extremely guilty (cried 3 times)
Hi Bridget, how did you study best with topics and classes that were abstract and theoretical?
Thnk u so much Jamie
Ah i loved this so much
Ur tips are practical and i can follow easily
I'm not taking any medications so this is really helpful
And you're so cute I just subbed lots of love dear 💕 mgbuuuh
What are the natural remedies 👀
Hi Bridge thanks for sharing your experiences with us
What if you have a trainer and they can only workout with you at 10am. How would I plan studying in that case
I don’t have diagnosed ADHD, but all of these tips are so useful for me and some of them I already do. Thank you!
okay but why was your cat just kneading the bed for sooo longgg lmao
In 2:23 minutes into the video, you mentioned that medication is a incredible helpful tool. What's the name of your medication???
5:47 legends say the cat is still pawing that bad til this day
5:50 looks like the cat is alot behind on bread orders , bridget help her already !

When the cat appeared it was an instant click on the subscribe button.
I have my first precalc exam on tuesday and I havent yet started studying bc I keep procrastinating. I hope this helps😅
I've been procrastinating so much that today is my exam and yesterday night I studied for the first time only for 50 minutes.
It legit took me 20minutes to watch this video cus i kept pausing and doing something else 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Not sure if my ADD is stopping me from seeing this right but wasnt that 8 tips? Tip 8 being your phone on the charger?
Actually with the phone part i use one of those apps that locks your phone some time and put the phone right infront of me. Cuz i get distracted when i dont have my phone around. Like i keep on thinking someone might text me or something. Idk it works for me kinda.
I'm trying to learn computer science but I am so bored
I been through this video twice and absorbed nothing. Took Concerta 27mg and studied the entire math syllabus
I always try to get up early but physically can't get out of bed for hours without meds!!
Ayy let's go road to 1000 subs
Really enjoyed watching the Video😂 The cat was having her own Joll
Haha thank you 😂 I feel like she really made the whole video 😂😵
Great video, very helpful tips!
not my adhd kicking in thirty seconds into the video so I was too distracted to actually pay attention to what she was saying
I usually do most of these tips while I'm studying , but ...
Does this mean that i have ADHD ?!!! 🤔
The cat 😂😂😂
Anyone preparing for CMA with adhd?
I swear if this worked for me I will literally worship you
Cuz I'm struggling with studying
Very helpful
