Greetings, Not sure of you will see this... But I felt it on my heart to say.... 2,000 years ago Jesus came and spoke truth into a time and space that claimed to know God and did not... He said repent and believe in the Kingdom of God (clearly telling religious people they knew God NOT...) For God is Spirit,God is light....God is Love.... His parting message to the world....love as He does and you will fulfill the law of God, the will of God....everlasting life. And the hallmark of His love.....GRACE. See the world as He does....filled with God's children so that ypu be motivated to have compassion for them......ALWAYS - and by this you too will be as the son of God. Love and blessings ❤🫂❤ Matthew 6:22-24 NKJV - “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. “But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. You cannot serve God and mammon.

70yr old listening to this at the strike of midnight into 2024. First hearing this in the 70s and always wishing people would "look in to Jesus, he's got the answer", especially now. Great job on the video and it's association with Joplin.
Yes Steven I looked into Jesus after a 6 months debate with a lady named Chrissy Young who later became my friend in Christ. I gave my life to Jesus at the age of 24 on 12-26-1983 and on 12-26-2023 I celebrated my 40yr anniversary walking down the Narrow Road with Jesus. The journey continues! It's amazing what the Holy Spirit has taught and shown me. Simply amazing. Yes Yeshua Hamashia is my best friend. I play Gospel Blues, rock and alot of Praise & Worship lately on the harmonica. I've been playing over 40yrs now. I'm coming out with a demo CD. Would like to be a session slash studio musicians. I also write a lot of songs. I have a lot of jams on Utube. Check out one humorous spontaneous jam I did yrs ago titled Jimmy C cycle time blues. Shalom to you! Would love to be your friend. We both are Jesus Freaks. Shalom!

There were a lot of groups like this in the 70's. I gave my life to Jesus in the spring of 75, now what do I listen to. I went into the light house book store in May of 75 and there was a hippie looking chick working in there and I tentivly ask if there was such a thing as Christian rock and she said "Oh yes there is". She gave me a couple of Lp's and a couple of cassettes to listen to in my car. One of the albums was Barry Mc Quire, Lighten up. One of the cassettes was 2nd Chapter of Acts. Still have the album of Barry. That tape got eaten in my player. I've often wished I'd gotten an album of 2nd Chapter of Acts. A friend gave me a Home made cassette of Larry Norman, In another Land. Years later I was in a rehab music record shop and I found This Larry Norman Lp In another Land, un opened still in the plastic. I bought it and still have it, still unopened in the plastic. I had a couple of Honey Tree, John Talbot, Terry Talbot. I stopped listening to this type of music after our first son was born. I still all the Lp's memories.
After Larry died many people judged him accused him of being a fake.. well he is the best fake ever in my eyes this man got many people to look into Jesus the answer
@lucaboden Let he who is without sin..... All I can say its a good thing I've Never been hypocritical or anything! That's my story and I'm Stickin With It! :-)
Larry died human. Just like he lived. That's how I'm living. I want to say I don't make the same mistakes I made 40 years ago. I'd like to say that....
My first three concerts when I became a Christian back in 1978 were Larry Norman, Randy Stonehill, and Phil Keaggy. My life was changed forever by their music!
I believe that I saw the same show a year later in 79 or 80 in Atlanta Georgia. Seeing the 2nd Chapter of Acts at The Fox was almost Heaven 👍🏻🙏🏻 WAEC AM radio played gospel teaching in the morning, but this new Christian Rock in the afternoon. I fondly remember talking to Mylon Lefebvre when he was getting clean and working as the janitor at the Mount in North Atlanta. Metro Bible Study, with a hundred young folks coming to hear Rat Riley preach. Al Holley and sometimes Mylon Lefebvre and Broken Heart would warm up the crowd to hear from The Holy Ghost. I believe that I still have a little white cassette tape of Metro Bible Study Music 😂😂 Lots of the bands back then, we'd see at Gatlinburg Tennessee right after Christmas. Huge Campus Life Youth for Christ conference every year. We'd bring over 1000 from the South Miami area. Those bus rides took a long time, with a lot of high schoolers. We had some pretty good music to use for the journey Home back in the day, and I still prefer it to the stuff today. Keith Green was a gift too, and I remember getting ready So you wanna go back to Egypt album in the USPS mail. I had to pull over I75 after they played a melody of Keith's songs, and then announced the plane crash. Worked the Memorial concert in Atlanta in great sadness. Phil Keggey playing with his gadgets was a mind blower, and I had done quite a bit of acid in the day. Philp Side album is a forever classic.
It was more than likely because he was rock artist. I grew up as a Mennonite & there they said rock was evil. I'm not Mennonite anymore nor do I believe that way anymore.
Rob, I don't know if you'll read this post, but I met you once. At Heart Happening in 77. My friend Mark and I drove from NC. Initially we were disappointed with the artist's that didn't come to the event. However, it became one of my best musical and spiritual memories as we were introduced for the 1st time to your band (loved your spirit and your style) rez, glad, liberation suite. Your music really encouraged me as a believer. I remember the day we left we ran into you at your hotel. We'd been camping in the back of my dad's pickup and must have been a little rank. You had mercy on us and let us shower in your room. Just wanted to say you guys were memorable. God bless you
You could say that about a lot of Larry's songs. He had a very poor view of Christian music, thought it was embarrassing and had shallow lyrics, and it was his intent to raise the bar. I would say he succeeded.
Larry Norman was simply the best. I saw him several times. You have never seen anything if you haven’t been to a Larry Norman experience. Other memories: Once i was 5th in line for a LN concert at the Spokane Opera House when a beat up station wagon pulled up and out got LN. He then got in line with us for his own concert. I thought is that who I think it is behind me? Then a door opened and they ushered him in. Nothing outrageous, but just a fun story. Another time I lived in San Jose Ca and a friend of mine and I wondered does anyone live in de Tracy street (the address was in many of his albums). We went to that door and knocked. Larrys dad, Joe Norman answered the door. Like little kids we said, “does Larry Norman live here?” Joe said “sometimes” and INVITED US IN! He gave us a tour of the Solid Rock warehouse and even played his harmonica for us. To me that was like John Lennon’s dad inviting us in.
Great memories! The first time I saw him was in Virginia Beach in 1979, maybe a month or less before I had to move to Texas for my senior year of high school. (Thanks, USAF.) We had a friend named Robby who loved LN but he couldn’t go to the concert because his band was playing at a Christian coffee house to cover for the house band that was opening for LN. After the concert we went to the coffee house to see Robby’s band. At one point I looked around and saw someone from behind with long blonde hair. I’m pretty sure it was a woman but I jokingly said to my friend, “You can’t fool me. That’s not Larry Norman.” I think we said it a few times about different people. Eventually I looked around and, lo and behold, there was Larry Norman. He only stayed a short time after I saw him. As he started down the stairs to the exit he was sort of facing the band. He gave them a little wave. Robby gave him a cool nod but I thought inside he was probably freaking out.
My Pastor told me about this song and Joe Rogan. He was a very messed up young man who came to Jesus almost 50 years ago and loves old school Christian music. Very raw words about our lives before Jesus. 🙏 💪 ♥
I saw him in concert during my Jr.High school age and at that time something bad was happening to me, I found strength in his songs to continue to not blame anyone and actually there was a time in my life I had forgotten about the bad things and I grew up, Married a Policeman, had 2 kids and now have 2 grandkids we have been married almost 42 yrs...I am in my 60ies and my walk with Jesus has never been stronger....Thank you Mr. Norman, I pray you were able to dance with Jesus and all you issues just disappeared, I wonder if you knew how many peoples lives you changed, I will have to find out when I get to heaven...YOU deserve a Standing ovation.... AMEN
Arthur Blessitt use to share Jesus with Janice on the Strip in Hollywood as she was drinking her Jack Daniel's. I believe the LORD'S Word doesn't return to HIM void. So I know HE reached out to her before she went into eternity. Thank you Jesus. Amen.
Forgot about this song for probably 25 years, my parents always used to play this way back when. Shout out JRE for reminding me and bringing me back!🙏🏼

Larry Norman was a prophet. So many of his songs written in the 70's and 80's are still relevant. Amazing...been listening to him since I was a little girl.
One Way ☝️ one way to heaven, Children of the King ☝️☝️🙏 Circle of Friends, Why don't you look into Jesus, He's got the Answer, UFO 😂, and I wish they'd all be Ready. Got to see Brother Larry a few times and once with Randy Stonehill too. RIP Larry Norman ☝️🙏
Larry wrote this song after meeting Janis Joplin during a concert while in the group People! “One night I was singing on stage,” Norman recalled, “and Janis Joplin was sitting behind the front curtain watching the concert with a bottle of Southern Comfort in one hand and she was sipping whiskey from a paper cup. She was drunk and really unhappy. And every now and then, she would start yelling at me. I wrote ‘Why Don't You Look Into Jesus’ about Janis.” That song appeared on “Only Visiting This Planet.” “She was like the happy drunk hippie who felt very ugly because of her terrible pockmarks,” Norman told me. “And so if you talked to her she’d go, ‘Hey, baby, how’s it doin?’ And if you talked to her serious, if you say something like ‘Jesus--Yeah, Jesus, he’s cool, and Muhammad, and Buddha, and…you know?’ She was just nonstop. Insecure and on display and performing. You couldn’t give to her ‘cause she was too busy protecting herself and giving her image back to you. I prayed for a lot of these people, and then was just so brokenhearted when various ones of them began to die.” In “Why Don’t You Look Into Jesus,” Norman blasts the empty hedonism of the rock stars for whom he opened. “Sipping whiskey from a paper cup,” “shooting junk until you’re half insane,” “gonorrhea on Valentine’s Day and you’re still looking for the perfect lay.”
No, that's not the point of Christianity. The point of Christianity is that we are all sinners and because of God's great love for us regardless of our rebellion, He sent His Son to pay for our Sinn if we trust Christ.
Poor Janis was a very hurt and sad person. She drowned her pain in alcohol and heroine. I don't think Larry was judging her, he was just stating a fact about her obviously lost condition, but then he lovingly sang, "Why Don't You Look Into Jesus, he's got the answer." It's too bad that she didn't it may have saved her life. I hope she called out to Jesus in her hotel room before she died. It would be great to see her in Heaven singing to Jesus with the gift that she was given.
Being a hippie in the 70s. I remember being born again, it was huge! The love I felt knowing I belonged to Him. I didn't know how to stop trying to convert my friends which were my family. It would just get worse. Then I'd find guys like this and Mark Farner and I could hear the spirit of God talking through their music. It would be my secret place when I'd be too stoned to go home. Ozzy to. He always sang about the dangers of evil and the power of God and love. Read his lyrics.
Definitely. I had keith green albums and cassettes and wore them out. I had a friend from high school that lived at his Last Days Ministries commune or whatever it was, down in Lindale Tx
I know that Larry's stuff is a rare anointing insisted by the Lord himself , I can bear testimony of the wonderful presence of God back in the mid -1980's when I got born again, I found I was walking closely with God at that time. I also experienced special occasions of blessing in His Presence. Larry's music, and especially his lyrics at the time was a part of that journey of real inspiration and meant a lot to me. .God bless you Larry my loving brother..RIP!
Norman was singing about Joplin? I NEVER connected that! I was only a high school sophomore when I first got this record! Just thought of this today 2-24-22. Crazy.

When Will the World See That We Need Jesus? A song by Petra
My son was a heroin addict he sent this song and then he asked if I still had the Bible I was going to give him ❤️ Praise The Lord!!
I don't know why some people thought this music was Devil music. There is good musicianship and lyrics here.
Those who call on the name of the Lord (Jesus) will be saved.
Acts:2:21.❤😊❤
Larry Norman was a true visionary and changed the face of Christian music forever! I am 60 this year and have been listening to his music since 1969!
I heard of him TODAY! Was listening to Standing on the Promises of GOD! And saw I wish we'd all been Ready!

After Larry died many people judged him accused him of being a fake.. well he is the best fake ever in my eyes this man got many people to look into Jesus the answer
Just satan's puppets getting ticked because he kicked a few gates to hell down and snatched some victims out of the flames.

@@stevenwiederholt7000 thanks for the chuckle, bro!
Larry died human. Just like he lived. That's how I'm living. I want to say I don't make the same mistakes I made 40 years ago. I'd like to say that....
I’m here cause of the Joe Rogan Podcast. Great song
🎤 🎶 🎵 🎧
My first three concerts when I became a Christian back in 1978 were Larry Norman, Randy Stonehill, and Phil Keaggy. My life was changed forever by their music!
Amen!
PHIL!!
I believe that I saw the same show a year later in 79 or 80 in Atlanta Georgia.
Seeing the 2nd Chapter of Acts at The Fox was almost Heaven 👍🏻🙏🏻
WAEC AM radio played gospel teaching in the morning, but this new Christian Rock in the afternoon.
I believe that I still have a little white cassette tape of Metro Bible Study Music 😂😂
Lots of the bands back then, we'd see at Gatlinburg Tennessee right after Christmas.
I'm trying to remember if Chuck Girard was from the same time or a little later.
@@kctechie Same time.
I’m here because of Joe Rogan and Brain Redban.

“Train by day, Joe Rogan podcast by night…… all day.”
Everytime Joe rogan said "Why don't you look into Jesus hes got the answer" after talking about some shitty situation is funnier than it should be
Saw Larry in concert 7 times in the 70s and 80s. He was shunned by many, and battled inner turmoil, but his music will stay with me forever.
It was more than likely because he was rock artist. I grew up as a Mennonite & there they said rock was evil. I'm not Mennonite anymore nor do I believe that way anymore.
I wish I seen them because like Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley he was a tortured soul but never backed away from his love of Jesus who is the a man.
That is an absolutely excellent way to put it...THANK YOU

Banger! Jre brought me here!
God bless you
My father used to pull this vinyl out when I was a kid, awesome!! Thank you Jesus for loving us before we even knew you.

Not just a little… we will always need him A LOT!
First time listening to this song and it’s fucking awesome 🤘
About a month ago I heard it via a friend. Totally agree.
It's a great jam!
This the greatest Christian rock song ever made.
You could say that about a lot of Larry's songs. He had a very poor view of Christian music, thought it was embarrassing and had shallow lyrics, and it was his intent to raise the bar. I would say he succeeded.
Yes!!!
Tru dat
As a producer of modern CCM songs, I agree 100%. Larry Norman was absolutely brilliant. 🙏
You gotta serve somebody is pretty cool by Dylan
Larry Norman was simply the best. I saw him several times. You have never seen anything if you haven’t been to a Larry Norman experience.
Other memories:
Once i was 5th in line for a LN concert at the Spokane Opera House when a beat up station wagon pulled up and out got LN.
Like little kids we said, “does Larry Norman live here?”
Joe said “sometimes” and INVITED US IN!
(Thanks, USAF.)
We had a friend named Robby who loved LN but he couldn’t go to the concert because his band was playing at a Christian coffee house to cover for the house band that was opening for LN.
Very underrated song writer and musician.
And Producer!
I NEVER knew of this song ! It is frighteningly prophetic , cautionary , and revelatory ! Thank You , God!!!
Nobody is thanking God, or Jesus. They aren't even thanking Janis... Everyone is thanking some "Joe" I guess they mean president Biden?

Can’t believe Joe Rogan sang this song live on his latest podcast! Love this song!!
Like five times😂❤️
My Pastor told me about this song and Joe Rogan. He was a very messed up young man who came to Jesus almost 50 years ago and loves old school Christian music. Very raw words about our lives before Jesus. 🙏 💪 ♥
I had the pleasure of meeting Larry several times, he was friends with my sister - in - law. Great man!
Saw Larry a couple times, personally met him and prayed with him, was a great guy, and truly wanted Jesus for the world.
AMEN
Thanks Joe
Thank you Joeeeeeeee!!!!!!

Greetings everyone,
Amazing track, amazing tribute....encourages me daily to know that the work of the Holy Spirit reflects the character and nature of Jesus....
Showing no partiality and guiding and leading all who will hear His voice and yield to His goodness....
Not sure if you will see this...
But I felt it on my heart to say....
2,000 years ago Jesus came and spoke truth into a time and space that claimed to know God and did not...
He said repent and believe in the Kingdom of God (clearly telling religious people they knew God NOT...)
For God is Spirit,God is light....God is Love....
His parting message to the world....love as He does and you will fulfill the law of God, the will of God....everlasting life.
And the hallmark of His love.....GRACE.
See the world as He does....filled with God's children so that you would be motivated to have compassion for them......ALWAYS - and by this you too will be as the son of God.
This is the sign of a "Christian"....they love as Jesus loves
Love and blessings to you

Matthew 6:22-24 NKJV - “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. “But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Larry Norman was a prophet. So many of his songs written in the 70's and 80's are still relevant. Amazing...been listening to him since I was a little girl.

Yes Jesus I’m looking in 😳
Larry wrote this song after meeting Janis Joplin during a concert while in the group People!
I wrote ‘Why Don't You Look Into Jesus’ about Janis.” That song appeared on “Only Visiting This Planet.”
“She was like the happy drunk hippie who felt very ugly because of her terrible pockmarks,” Norman told me. “And so if you talked to her she’d go, ‘Hey, baby, how’s it doin?’ And if you talked to her serious, if you say something like ‘Jesus--Yeah, Jesus,
he’s cool, and Muhammad, and Buddha, and…you know?’ She was just nonstop.
Greg Murray Joplin ended up a mess, no doubt about it.
Isn't the point of Christianity for none of us to judge anyone else? It doesn't sound like Mr Norman of all people was in a good position to do so.
Debra Rufini She died at 27. He lived several more decades. She destroyed herself physically.
Here from the JRE!
Wow! Where has this song been my whole life! ❤❤❤ 🙏🏼
