Very interesting predictions! One series that I think has the potential to become pretty big is "You and I are Polar Opposites". I decided to check it out after seeing it place highly in the Taisho awards, and was quite surprised at how authentic some of those characters felt (Taira and Gapacho are especially great). I could see it following a similar trajectory to Bokuyaba - underwhelming first impressions, slowly rising up the rankings as time goes on until it blows up in popularity. for me at least it is second only to Bokuyaba as far as romance goes
Yeah, I mean, two times nominated for the Manga Taisho. And Agasawa’s other series Koori no Jouheki was nominated for the Shogakukan Award. It would be unusual for a pure romcom to be a true kaijuu - like on the JJK or even OnK level. But I do expect Polar Opposites to get an anime and I expect it to be very popular. It’s on my list to check out for sure.
