I'm on my second set of locs. I cut my first set after almost 8 years because I got sick. I stayed a loose natural for a year and was like , yep...back to locs. For me, it's either gonna be a short shaved cut, like after I cut my first set, or locs. Both are low maintenance, good for laziness, and good if you have an illness like I do. This set will be 6 years old in July. They are almost at my waist. I don't retwist often at all. I like big, thick, juicy, fuzzy, loose, new growth. The freshly retwisted look and a bunch of styles is not for me (not knocking those who do). I wash when I want, air dry, and go. The most I do is loc knots to get a wavy fuller look. That's it. One of the best deccisions I have ever made. Great video!
Funny you said that, the lady who cut my hair also had Locs for 20+ years and cut them and went to a short shaved cut cuz she wasn’t about that long loose natural life either! I think once you have Locs, it’s really hard to go back to a high maintenance routine. Thanks for watching!!
I agree, it's either a twa or locs , my loose natural hair is getting long it's about 6 inches and it's starting to irritate me. I've never had locs , but I'm considering getting them, because, I don't like fiddling with my hair, I don't even style my hair that much, and if I do, I dislike contemplating what style to do, because I can never make up my mind. Let's not forget the longer loose natural gets , the more moisturisers and conditioners you'll need to keep it healthy and products finish fast as your hair gets longer, the fact you only need water and oil to moisturise locs is amazing and a money saver, plus you don't need to condition locs as much as loose hair , So, I guess locs will be great for me....
Very beautiful I love it 😀 I'm 8 months loc best decision for me 🌷 I love the freedom of not always worrying about my hair as much as when I was a loose natural lol and I noticed my confidence has increased 100% my locs brought out my beautiful skin and face even more ❤
Like you, I am obsessed with locs! I have been for many years, even though I’ve only been loc’d for 27 months. I can’t imagine myself with any other hair style. Locs are for me. ❤️❤️❤️
Love the new look! I find it so interesting when you first start you are dying for your hair to be super long, but when it gets long it becomes annoying to some people and they want to cut it. I know different people have different reasons for it, but it's just interesting to me.
Love this video!!! My only regret with my locs was not knowing of the option to loc my hair sooner! I agree with all 10!!! Esp #10. Locs are Gorgeous!!! (Beautiful) Thank you!
Locs look beautiful when the locs are well maintained. Unfortunately some non black people tend to go more for the matted dog hair look. Your long and now short locs look very lovely. I'm a bit conservative when it comes to hairstyles but I wish that I were brave enough to go the loc method. My hair is 3c
I have an appointment next Saturday and started to cancel, because I was feeling less spontaneous lol. Then here comes this video. I need the courage to commute, honey
On year 5 of my loc journey and loving it. This year onwards I plan to let them down 70% of the time, I usually have them plaited up. I feel beautiful and I'm so happy.
Just subsided, I started my loc journey on 3/19/22 @ the age of 53. I am so in love my locs and the transformation I am seeing. I agree my journey is my journey. I will continue to embrace every step of the way. Thank you
Your hair is cute! 😀😀 I have heard this on so many videos and I don't like to hear it. I am not speaking of you specifically, but I am choosing to put this on your video. I hate to hear when we say that we're lazy. Even when it's about our hair. It's not lazy to wear your hair down or not have to do a lot with it. That's not lazy. That's what all other nationalities do. As I go further and further into my lock journey, I realized that what we were doing in the loose natural world is not natural. We should not have to put that much work into our hair. And when I say work I mean the hours and hours of washing and detangling and twisting or doing whatever with our hair in order to style it. In locks we wear it and if we want to style it we can style it. That's what other nationalities do and on special occasions they do something to their hair. It's a choice, not a requirement. Just wearing your locs down is not lazy. And it looks pretty. I do get that in the loose natural world we had to do so much in order to make it right. I just don't think it's our world so it takes so much more. Our world I think are locs and you do something to your hair if you want to or you don't. But if you don't it's not lazy. Love your videos. Thanks so much for the time you put into helping the newbies on to lock journey.
I went to a natural hair salon in Seattle. It's been 10 years so I honestly don't remember the name of it but it was a full salon with multiple employees.
Please could you explain locs? Does it make hair grow longer? I don't have much edges and braids and other hairstyles usually make my hair and edges break. Will locs help to grow my edges? I am thinking of getting locs because I'm also lazy with my hair. I am very busy with school and barely have time for my hair. Even when I take care of my hair, it barely grows. How do you keep your locs looking neat and not frizzy? Also, can you put relaxed hair in locs cuz my hair is a bit straight? If you don't deep condition your hair, how does it stay healthy?
Hello,I have decided to make the leap and do my own two stand starter locks.Coukd you possibly give me more tips on starting?I have thin 3c/4a hair and thank you for your time.
I made a video about locs - ruclips.net/video/7Rhmv-2L6-4/видео.html There's nothing much else to it other than putting ou hair in two strand twists and letting it lock on its own.

Thank you!
Your reasons are valid. Been locd for 13months now and I love the process. Your hair colour is giving me vibes.
Congratulations...I love your locs! I just started my locs 3 days ago & I'm so excited for my journey!

You hair looks beautiful. Where did you get your hair locked originally? It’s so hard to find someone to trust.
