Its your shootout MXA and you can pick whoever you want but you lost what little credibility you have left this time by contradicting priorities you have had in the past and making contradictions within this shootout itself. The kx has the most horsepower in the class this year(mxa priority in past shootouts) yet you say the Suzuki Rmz has a better engine. ..The same bike you rate in last place... I don't really trust the mxa reviews or even enjoy the delivery or presentation anymore. No dyno charts, no rider opinions, no logic in how you came to where each bike placed. I ordered two days ago a new 2020 yz250f After test it. Very easy to ride and the engine is so good, also in 3 gear at low rpm....you don’t need to use the clutch! Yamaha did really a fantastic bike 👌
Alessandro Senni I’m seriously considering the new yzf250 for a kinda do all bike that I could do some woods riding with too. Did you get a chance to test one before purchasing ? How is the power delivery and smoothness of power? Thanks for any information!
Chad Walker yes, i try one and the power is something like an electric one. You have power but also so much control on it. Very good traction. I try the bike only with standard map.
At first congratulations to MXA to be the first to show a 250 shootout. Thankyou! About the video, good information but too much detailed information and wayy too fast speech! It was a rush to understand! You said good inputs to distingue from novice to pro which is what a shootout should look like. We don’t care about dyno charts when on the track it feels differently. Thanks for shootout, I enjoy watching these. I do have a question, quite often throughout the video you make mention the "Engineers decided to do this or they choose to do that" etc. Are these comments based on actual conversations with the engineers or just assumptions or observations of the final product?
So since everyone is make these top end screamers, does that mean a couple year older bike May be better for an amateur? Like 15-16 honda or 17-18 Kawasaki
I bought a 2019 yz250f slightly used in late 2019 after taking a break from dirtbikes for 4 years and only riding 85cc and 125cc 2 strokes before this and i could not be happier, feels a tad more powerful than my buddies 2020 husqvarna fc 250 in my opinion as you pretty much have to ride that bike like a 125 2-stroke to get to all the power and i love the comfort of not having to be "on the pipe" at all times, both great bikes though
I'm just wondering what your shootout results would look like if you... #1 Got out of the state of California #2 With a different group of riders. #3 Rode at more than 3 or 4 tracks (that pretty much have the same dirt). Like maybe arrange a test with local (pro, int, vet) riders at a high elevation track in Colorado, a red clay track in Oregon a midwest loam track and a sand track in Florida. Average those results together and/or rank them separate. I'd love to see what the results of this would be.
Are you sponsoring the travel expenses? or volunteering to drive the bikes to the different tracks. Michael Lindsey needs some sponsors for his shoot outs. Where do you ride?
@@emilopffer1069 If MXA can't cover a gas bill and some truck stop food they have issues, however, I would definitely volunteer to do the driving. Perfect bike is one that looks as good as the Suzuki, engine and connectivity tech as the Yamaha and reliability of the Honda. When that bike is made I'll pony up and put it in the garage.
Great shootout, great explanation and I definitely bought the right bike. The 250 field is going to get way more interesting in the next years, as all the manufacturers switch to finger follower heads and find power, and improve their suspension.

As always, excellent! Thanks MXA. However, I have a hard time thinking that the Husky engine will not dyno exactly like the ktm after drilling a few one inch holes on the air filter cover., unless the cams and exhaust systems are different. Are you using a DynoJet unit? Readings seem a bit high.

I watched the whole shootout and although I'm a Yamaha guy I don't think a bike should come in 2nd because it is great for novice riders. It's like some bikes are penalized by being geared for racing versus ones that are easier to ride. Your shootout needs to be more consistent with what characteristics you give points for and characteristics you deduct points. You need to follow the same parameters for each bike. If you're scoring bikes for competition quality or NOT then do it across the board. Dirt Bike did the same thing with their 2018 2 stroke shootout where they ranked the TM125 last because it was a superior race bike that required a skilled rider to keep it on the pipe in order to use all of its strengths. The bike was superior and finished last.

Excellent shootout, Very tough choices this year , but do to budget for me my 1st choice would be a new leftover, Ive Seen new ones for $5000 before which is amazing! Or maybe even a very low hour garage queen used 1 a year or 2 old which I see for around $4000 quite a bit
Um, they lost last year. You guys must all be too young to remember when MXA was called Hondacrossaction or Yamahaaction. Those bikes had dominant eras with all the magazines. Honda lost out with the first gen aluminum frame and then the case reed motors. Back then I guess Yamaha was paying the most for shootout wins.
So because KTM has been winning in their shootouts a lot recently means they're biased? Last year Yamaha won their 250 shootout, they still go in-depth with the negatives on KTM's and last year they even said that the newest model had gotten worse. Yet everyone will go running to the vital mx shootout which is made in 2 days and lets not forget vital is sponsored by honda.
@@motoson76 mxa results are nearly always the total opposite then the other bike magazines. Not just vital mx. But dirtbike magazine, swamp moto live and racer x and Michael Lindsay.

Who’s Kervarna ? Never heard of him
i want a ktm
Ktm will never lose. Ktm for life
Um, they lost last year.
What about the 150’s
tanx for another KTM ACTION results LoooL LÖÖÖL khkhkh #ktmactionmagazine
So because KTM has been winning in their shootouts a lot recently means they're biased? Last year Yamaha won their 250 shootout, they still go in-depth with the negatives on KTM's and last year they even said that the newest model had gotten worse. Yet everyone will go running to the vital mx shootout which is made in 2 days and lets not forget vital is sponsored by honda.
@@motoson76 mxa results are nearly always the total opposite then the other bike magazines. Not just vital mx. But dirtbike magazine, swamp moto live and racer x and Michael Lindsay.
@@alexandrakingi8502 Well just because their results are completely different doesn't mean they're wrong or biased. MXA is the only one to spend months going in-depth with every bike to find the pros and cons and pick which bike is best for each rider.
@@motoson76 250 was such a hard category for them to show their love toward KTM . And here we talk about 450 not 250
@@mahaniamir I'm aware of what engine displacement we're talking about but if it was KTM action magazine as you said then surely KTM would win in both the 250 and 450 divisions every single year. Yet it doesn't, and when another brand steps it up and dethrones the KTM, mx action will put them at the top. Also please elaborate on why 250 was such a hard category.
