Thanks for this tutorial it’s been a long time since I have spliced rope. I like the tapered end technique where the ends all come out the same side. Just curious but what are the purpose of the three meter sections? Also what are some examples of a good use for the eye splice on the end of the rope?
Thanks Nick, the three metre sections were for mooring lines to attach boats to in the new marina area. The eye splice is useful in any situation where you are attaching a rope to something fixed and there is risk of chafing with a normal knot. By doing an eye splice around a thimble you avoid this. This can be useful for attaching painter for a dinghy for example.
Excellent video and description
Thanks :)
Just what I need, I will sort the rope now and get the boat later. Venaka.
;) enjoy!
I wish you all the best! Thank you for the video.
Do you suggest shrink wrapping the braid also
Hey Vinnie, thanks for watching and sorry for the slow reply. In our opinion, if the site is good, shrink wrapping isn't necessary :)
