I lost 100 connects to scammers. I tried to go with them to know the scammers system. They will send you their email and telegram (which is restricted).....it happens a lot of times. The things is, the job post is payment verified and 5 stars rated. Please upwork, do something to counter this.

In this wave of AI where everybody just wants to look cool be integrating AI to their products, Upwork would have actually made profit by solving freelancers problem and making it an easier platform for everybody to land a job. AI is not limited to just being a chatbot, you can actually use it to scan the jobs and profile of clients and freelancers and warn them for their scam or suspicious jobs. Use it wisely.

As a professional WRITER, I am offended to have AI advertised to me every time I open my Upwork profile. Upwork displays a lack of sensitivity by embracing and promoting AI; do you know how many content writers lost their jobs because of this?
I've been a writer for 30yrs and I've found that it's a tool, like my typewriter was, my old windows XP, then my tablet & phone. I'm the creative creator at all times, but it can be helpful to use it to proofread and edit. I don't type fast anymore but I'm well versed on my topics & can speak off the top, I then use gpt to clean it up, format it.

All non-U.S. individual taxpayers who receive payments on Upwork must complete the W-8BEN form to verify that they are not a U.S. Person, and are performing services outside of the United States. Please make sure you fill out your Tax residence card along with filing a W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E, under Settings › Tax Information > Tax residence. You will not be able to withdraw your earnings from Upwork until you complete the form. Also, if you do not complete the required form, we will be required to withhold up to 30% of your future earnings on Upwork and send them to the IRS. We will not be able to provide refunds on the withheld funds submitted to the IRS, even if the forms are later completed.
